The gummy candy one actually is a good idea, imagine a whole session where the enemy's are limited to different gummy candies.
You enter into a room, it's quite large around the size of a small village, you all look around and notice a odd fruit like aroma wafting through the air, the Rouge looks up and sees all along the ceiling a multitude of colored snakes (gummy worms) and one extra long and thin snake (fruit by the foot or 2-3 sour gummy strips pressed together) they all suddenly fall and the battle begins.

It's been forever since I ran an in-person ttrpg but back in the day I would bring soda and homemade ooey gooeys on the first session or when a new player joins, but I make it clear that if no one else also brings snacks on occasion I'm not doing it as a regular thing. 4 out of 5 times I've never brought snacks more than twice.

Last week I joined a second session, asked the host what snacks I should bring (he knows I am the snack man), they said don't worry, we're set. They were not set. There were no snacks. Tomorrow will be different.

One DM that I played with used Starburst candies as enemies. If you kill it, you eat it. He'd apply a little label sticker and write numbers on them to indicate which one was which.
Also, the wrapper ensures that it's clean, even after being on the gaming table and being labeled.
Gummy bears? More like rubber bears! Have you ever met someone who can chew one? You might as well gnaw on the DM's car tires.

Mini sausages. In germany we can get stuff like mini cabanossi or salami. Small, bite sized, air dried sausage. You can skewer them on toothpicks and won't make a mess this way. Some breadsticks, maybe even some veggies which aren't that healthy in this context, the high sodium content of the sausage will offset any positive effect the veggies might have.
I play D&D with a an international group and we only meet online so everybody has to have their own snacks. And I like this combination.

I usually play online so I just make myself dinner which is usually some of the GOOD frozen pizza, sometimes spaghetti and meatballs if my family and I ordered recently. So basically it’s Italian night (well, American Italian). As for snack, usually I have popcorn if I’m not having dinner. Or cereal that is tasty even dry to snack on. Like Corn Pops or life cereal. I did once just snack on frozen pop tarts. It was really warm that day because the air conditioning was being repaired. Some pop tarts are just more tasty frozen (like the sundae ones). Um let’s see, it’s not so much as a snack during dnd time so much as I drink soda during that time. I rarely drink soda outside of dnd time (it’s just a preference). So it’s either a soda session or I have tea. I like making tea and setting aside tea snacks like madelines or biscottis. Depends on what I have on hand. One of my favorite indulgences is to use one of my goblets or creepy skull death knight mug to drink cranberry juice in, especially when there is a brutal battle in that session. Makes me feel like I’m being particularly vicious and drinking the blood of my enemies. I know I’m not and juice is far tastier than blood but it’s imagination and it’s a fun indulgence. That’s what I do at least. My snacks are more likely to be savory than anything though. Just a preference. Sometimes sweet, like pocky but I now have thing with that where I feel like any time I get bad in game news is when I pull out the pocky. It’s created something of a superstition for me now.

I don't know if anyone will see this, but jello cake is a awesome treat.
Just get a box cake mix (yellow or white) follow the directions on the box. Grease a cake pan and toss the batter in. Once the cake is done baking let it cool off. Use a fork and poke holes all over the cake, going straight down. If you can find like a cooking spoon where the end is the size of a dime also use that.
Take a package of any flavor jello you like and follow the directions (don't do the part where you add cold water and put in the fridge) Scoop or pour the jello liquid all over the cake, making sure it gets in the holes. Toss the cake in the fridge to chill (maybe about a half hour, shouldn't be too long)
Next get a box of instant vanilla pudding. Follow the directions. Once chilled and firm, fold gently with cool whip. Plop it on your cake and toss back in the fridge to keep cold. You can eat it pretty much right away or wait for whatever event you have the next day :) Its absolutely delicious! My family loves the orange jello.

Nothing greasy, sticky, melt-y, powdery or otherwise gets your hands dirty. My picks:
    - None-powdery dorito chips
    - Carrot, paprika and cucumber sticks
    - Dips for both. I like guacamole, humus and tsatsiki
    - Gummi sweets
    - Water
And for real hunger, anything that can be eaten with cutlery is fine.

I cook bacon, orange cinnamon rolls, slice summer sausage/smoke cheese and crackers along with various craft sodas in glass bottles for my players. Also, as a props dm, I sometimes have real food ready for in game events to deepen the experience. And, for a bit of evil fun, I have a small bag of popcorn hidden on the side I can pull out and start eating if my players are ever in a terrible dilemma with high stakes, at which time I will comment "the suspence is killing me, I hope it'll last" (I've only been able to do it once so far, but it was worth it).

I propose "meatbread". Their are many inferior recipes on the internet but I use the following. Roll out one grocery store, rectangular, raw, pizza crust. Brown a pound of hamburger and then cook in some diced onions adding salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle one layer of shredded, sharp cheddar cheese on the pizza crust. Spread the meat and onions on top of the cheese. Add a layer of American cheese or thinly sliced Velveeta. Roll it up like a Sushi roll, but tuck in the ends so it is closed. Cook in the oven for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Creative variations on meat and cheese selection may also work.

    -No grease
    -Managable
-Allow you to make a walrus impersonation. Or vampire. Or unicorn (dont ask).
-Cheap and tons of them in a pack
    - no crumbs
    - Come in multitude of flavours (salted, unsolted, pepper, paprika, cheese, cheese and onion)
Also, pretzels and some crackers. And drinks of choice. Cant go wrong with pretzel sticks.

    Notes from a NG Noble Idiot;
    Greetings from Lovely Restenford!
It Depends on the type of group your running really. For those of a more Mental perspective (high roleplay), it would be bottled Soda and/or Small handheld snack's. This is so they only have to only one hand for them. As for the More Violent sort(high Combat), Pizza or other types of "messy foods" and high caffeinated Drinks(energy drinks and suchlike) tends to be the order of the day. I, myself, am more of a Tea and Sandwiches type of person. Good luck upon your adventures and may Pelors light bless you!
    Sincerely yours,
    Set Nathaniel Trevelyan of Restenford
