Thank you for the video. Learnt alot! I am wondering for old hdb with single water inlet can I use the dual water faucet although no hot water? Its very much nicer products today are mostly dual for new BTO flat:(
I am thinking of buying new shower mixers for the BTO as well. do you know if the cold and hot water inlet distance is standard? What is this distance for BTO?
I will lubricate the o ring if there are rubber and also i use the glue on sealant instead of drilling the wall. For the holes of previous shower set, i will use those wall color sealant or cement tubes.
Awesome, I've watch most of your tutorials, I'm curious is there a way to isolate and turn off only shower water valve like basin valve where I can turn off under sink. But I can't see any shower valve. Backstory, initially there is an obvious leak from the shower mixer tap where floor of water. SO I turn off the water meter outside. After I've tighten it and turn back on the meter there is No obvious visual wet leak. However I realized the water meter outside was still running but only can be notice after few hour much lesser after I tighten. All other taps and water sources are shut down and turn off. I know it's nothing much in term of $, just few cents per month. I just have the desire and believe it's from the shower mixer tap. Cause after I tighten the shower mixer tap it stops meter from rush running. Do you think it's the washer issue like wear off you kind of mentioning in this video. Importantly or is there a way to turn off the shower water valve isolate it. Thanks and keep uploading. Great channel.
Thank you so much for your support and viewership! I hope you found the content helpful! For leaks, you have the right technique of isolating all the components trying to stem the flow from the main meter. There should not be any flow when the water is turned off however, if there is still consumption, you might have a pinhole leak In the walls. For that you need to engage a plumber to assist!
Hi can you advise, after installing the rain shower, it has blocked the false ceiling service hole. Will it be a problem for heater maintenance in the future? Do we need to dismantle the whole rain shower set? Thank you in advance!
@rachelletan7267 yes it will block the access hole. But it is an area you will only use when only necessary. It's not a storage space. So removing the rain shower is not really a difficult task
Will rain shower set from Taobao fit for Singapore hdb bathroom or will it require additional adapters? As there are much more choice for rain shower from Taobao
Decided to DIY replacing my rain shower after watching this video. Noticed something: when the mixer faucet was removed and I turned the main water supply back on, I noticed water only flowed out from the cold pipe. No water from the hot pipe (mine is a storage heater). Any idea why? When the faucet is installed the hot water apparently does flow from the hot pipe the mixed water is warm. Quite curious why no water flows from hot pipe when faucet is removed. Any idea? Very useful video BTW, good job.
Hi, i am renovating a house and would like to know, does it possible to use such tap mixer like what you install to connect instant water heater with pump.
In short, no... but there are ways to reroute your water supply such that it goes through the instant heater. Have you considered a multi point instead?
Thanks for the detailed video once again. I always find the length of the extended arm of the rain shower set usually is quite short. Any way to extend it even further?
Hi, if I turn off the main water supply from HDB riser. Will hot water still be gushing out when I dismantle the old mixer because of my storage heater tank?
many claimed that the water pressure is not strong enough for a rain shower head if you do not have a water storage or pump installed, is it true? from this video it seems that the owners also do not have a that as well.
These guys had a storage tank. And you are right. If you are using an instant heater, there will be a noticeable drop in pressure especially if you get a model without a boost pump

Hi! I stay at punggol! At 1.44, regarding turning ooff the water supply, i tried to increase it by using a water tap key but it won't fit in. I tried using a spanner also it doesn't work. Do you happen to know a key that works to turn it on and off?
The tap key is for those public taps and uses a different connection. There is a different type that you have to buy to fit the pipe. Sometimes hdb would have given it to u in a plastic bag when u first moved in. U may check with your neighbourhood hardware store
At 4:57, you mentioned to check "if the holes line up" and in this case it did. What to do if the holes don't line up? Thanks for your very helpful video btw! :) #nobeard

Hi! I’ve got a dumb question. Regarding Turning off the water supply, clockwise or counterclockwise?
Clockwise! As the tap screws In, it uses a plug to block the flow channel :)
