The original civilization of the forgotten land could have also been the ancients. Maybe they fled to halcandra and elfilis powers was what led them to create things such as the novas or lot starcutter. heck maybe the ancients were humans themselves.
or they could be the predecessors of the Haltman company as well, as there is lot of mentioning to companies competing between each other
I’m not fully sure. I feel like the Ancients weren’t one people, but a multitude of species with the greatest minds of their time, come together in a Renaissance-esque period to develop science and magic to their apex.
Perhaps the original people, when they left their Forgotten Land, joined in with the already established Ancients with their own technology.
@@gallantblade1825 Oh yeah if the ancients were humans then they definitely weren’t just humans. We already know this for a fact due to hyness and magalor clearly not being humans and instead look more like hypno from Pokémon. Maybe they were the original inhabitants of halcandra before the forgotten land people came with there Technology.
Personally I’m not the biggest fan of the the idea of the original inhabitants from the forgotten land being humans that much because it takes away from how depressing shiver star is.
@@bagelgod946 Shiver Star can still be depressing, since the New World/Forgotten Land seems to be in another dimension, so the fate of the humans there can be different to the ones of Kirby′s world.
@@speedslider3913 Shiver star and the Forgotten world could be the same place separated by centuries. The fact that a lot of things happen in the forgotten world for the waddle dees before kirby arrive seemingly ten second later seems to imply there isn't just a space shift, but a time shift through the portal.
Heck, it's even repeated a second time at the first ending with Elfilin closing the portal, being rescued and healed by Clawroline, only to reopen the portal once healed. Except only 5 seconds happened in Dream land.

One thing that is creepy to me when you find out the truth behind everything near the end is the theme song of the game (the one with lyrics). Kirby finds it in the opening movie just randomly playing on a radio. It's in what seems to be the language of the people that lived there before. But it's a song about finding a new world. References Spring Breeze. Since Leon says that the orginal inhabitants went to a "dream land", wonder if the song was made to play while they all left to get them ready for THEIR "new world".
The sea mentioned twice in the second verse I believe is a metaphor for Fecto Forgo consuming the beast's souls. "Their cares have been washed away by a wild sea".
It'd be like if we discovered faster than light travel and then One Direction made a song about it

I love the idea the Fecto Forgo has been suffering in the test tube for an unknown amount of time both with the humans enjoying watching it and all alone.
Edit: It's a tourist attraction. Fecto Forgo merch exists. Plushies, mugs, bumper stickers etc.

I like to think that that’s Fecto Forgo’s motivation for brainwashing the Beast Pack and enslaving the Waddle Dees. It has been abused for years, being trapped in a containment vessel and seen as a simple tourist attraction, forever envious that it’s other half is able to roam freely. This constant abuse and being trapped in the tube has slowly eaten away at any sanity that it may have once had, and cause it to snap and develop a hatred for the world. It’s quite tragic really. Don’t abuse creatures, because you never know what they’re capable of and could bite back someday

I'd highly recommend all Kirby fans to look up art done by Shinya Kumazaki, the director of the more recent games in the series. Once you see it you'll understand why he's been placed in charged. The guy's a little batshit when it comes to his art, and he even adapts some Kirby characters into it, which is both awesome to look at and freaking creepy.
I've been checking his website to see if he has done any Fecto Elfilis art yet. I love his artstyle!
Kumazaki said himself that he really believes Kirby climax’s are one of the most important aspects of the games. Which I find really cool, he was playing Kirby’s Adventure and reacting to the nightmare orb scene that probably many other kids did as well at the time. That could mean the next Kumazaki is playing Kirby alongside us as we speak.
@@Frytoons That's pretty genius. Take what many would assume is a simple kids game and throw in some horror elements. What I really liked about this game though was the overall atmosphere. Up until the finale you really don't know what's happened and why all the people are gone.

Absolutely, I love what Kumazaki's been doing with the series--I really missed out having not played any of the games he's directed until recently! I just finished Return to Dreamland, going to start Triple Deluxe soon (I know the stories of these games, but this is my first time finally playing through them)

Hey, Kirby has always had dark themes to it.
The relationship between Elfilin and Fecto Forgo seems kind of similar to the relationship between kirby and void
Kind of reminds me of Mewtwo and Mew. You have the little cute “good” one who always seems slip away from humanity’s clutches just in the nick of time, and then you have the larger “bad” one, who has been experimented on and abused for years, where one day, they fight back and nearly destroy the land. Makes me wonder if Fecto Elfilis is actually based on Mewtwo.
Although honestly the idea of fusing or creating a species out of enemies would make for a good copy ability
Kirby fans are really eating well with the dark lore recently. Gotta love the pink puffball because just like the mother series, I love how these games do a complete tone shift near the end. Love your vids! Just finished watching the Majora's Mask dark aspects lol
I completely agree with this, though I feel like the tone shifts are all over the place in the Mother games rather than just the end.

Ah yes, finally. The game that I can smash a semi truck into a god to kill it is the best Kirby game for strictly that reason.
Usually with spoilers, they tend to kill the enjoyment of the thing as people know what to expect but as I don't understand most of the context for what you said, you actually made me want to pick this game up now so I can actually get a better grasp on what you mean. I honestly like that Kirby can get darker, its cool when a series can balance light hearted stuff with dark or horror aspects.

@@jay-yi9im I would say Right back at ya itself isnt canon but the Information given there like that with Meta Knight and Kirby seem to specific and plausibel to be non-Canon (Even though in the Japanese version kirby is depicted as a "very Young boy" but it still suggests that he nowhere near at his full Potential yet and still has a long road ahead to grow up).
Wow, this was EXTREMELY DARK. I have only played the 3Ds titles so, I not completely familiar to what happens in the Forgotten Land. But this video did help. It's funny to think that people sometimes think that Kirby is always supposed to be a cute series, when you have a plot like this, it is so cleverly dark and engaging.
Also who knew that a form of Judgment was just *a little red-orange butterfly.*
I knew about how Kirby games end with a disturbing final level and/or boss.
Since Forgotten Land was my first Kirby game, I decided to go in blind.
The _second_ that I saw ID-F86, I recoiled at it.
Then it *opened its fucking eyes* and absorbed everything around it.
Also, Eternal Echo of the Thrilling Tour is terrifying.
Seriously though that thing went crazy it looked at its master being destroyed and. Then literally was just like this world sucks everything shall be consumed I know it formed its form the best it could out of the beast. Pack although honestly if it absorbed kirby kirby probably would have done a no u moment lol

I'm curious about Fecto Eliflis' origins considering they're able to open spatial rifts similar to those in RtDL. Does Fecto Eliflis have a connection with the Ancients? Are they a byproduct from the Magic & Technology sides? Cause their horns & sper seem to resemble DNA strands
So don't quote me on this but my takeaway was that the natives were related to the Ancients in some way and Elfilis' powers were the basis for whatever spatial teleportation tech they used

The original inhabitants of the Forgotten Land ARE The Ancients.
Leongar outright states that the people of the Forgotten Land harnessed Elfilis's power and used it to escape to _another entire universe._ Calling it a *"land* of *dreams."*
Okay this may sound insane, but given Elffis appearance and Dark Matter’s appearance in another series made by Nintendo….I think Kirby is the connecting series between several Nintendo games! I think the title of “Ultimate Lifeform” is key to that…
Kirby and the forgetton land is easily one of my favorite Kirby games now. The only thing I dislike is the limited copy abilities and how a lot of copy ability upgrades feel very samey. I think I like Robobot just a bit more but forgotten land is easily my second favorite.
I love Kirby and the forgotten land the only flaw is the racing section in world 3
Also a lot of the world's are pretty generic besides the snow, circus world the last labtatory area and parts of world 1
So with regards to the people of that human world having left using id-f86's powers and the technology they invented from it.. It's noted directly that they left for a "land of dreams'..
Kirby is naturally from "Dream Land" but it's worth asking, what *all* is considered a part of "Dream Land", given the planet is called Planet Popstar. Is 'Dream Land' Kirby's whole universe, including other planets like Shiverstar? Or is it simply a region on Popstar? It's been quite a while since I've thought about it, so I should probably go look into it.... but right now my running theory is that most of the humans evolved overtime, or took the shape upon arrival, changing into the residents of Dreamland. Namely, The Waddle Dees. Because I just find the theory that Waddle Dees are evolved human beings to be hilarious.

The current theory my friends and I are going with is that Haltmann was actually a part of the Lightron Works Company and that Star Dream was tested with Efilis. An error causes the warp incident mentioned in Lab Discovera and it's also the same warp incident that makes Susie disappear into Another Dimension. Hellbent on getting his daughter back Haltmann leaves Lightron (the figurine description says they split off) and uses other planets for resources to continue working on Star Dream. It's also important to mention that Lightron's works included the field of Astro Science, and that the mechanization of cities and vehicles in robobot align with those in FL (human like cars and buildings, Haltmann would have had to known about this land if they share the same technological works). The Haltmann Works Co and Lightron Works Co also use the same name I refuse to believe this wasn't intentional.
I immidently thought of Haltmans cooperation as soon as i read the Figuriene description, mainly cause of the extremely similar name.

Probably a hot take, but I don't think the inhabitants of the forgotten land were humans(though I definitely can see them being the ancients). As for Void, it is implied he is the origin of all things in the Kirby universe.
There's still room in the lore for Shiver Star being earth and the forgotten Land being an alternate universe Earth-like planet like how Halcandra has located in a different dimension from Popstar.

The ancients are humans, that make a coalision with other species, but they maybe live on a different dimension, where is no dark matter, or at least less evil

You should check out Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot, there are quite a few things of note in those games.
Edit: In fact, unlike the two mainline Switch games, the mainline 3DS games don’t have as happy endings for the villain characters.
Edit 2: The Forgotten Land isn’t earth, the only real candidate for earth in the series is shiver star. The size of the natives of the forgotten land would be around the same size as Kirby, noted by the size of things in the the land, meaning it couldn’t have been earth unless we are all like eight inches tall, or Kirby’s size is wrong.
Also, "Slamming the Multi-Ton Semi truck into the Face of (a) GOD" is the best line ever

Wow, The forgotten land is kinda dark, I got to play a little of it on my Nintendo switch because one of my other siblings owned the game, we played the ultimate cup and this is the first time I saw Leongar & The Fecto Larva and i felt a bit strange induced in the game and didn't expect the chase cutscene with the Fecto Forgo, And speaking of forgo the word sounds like a play on forgotten, like they'd snipped out the half of the word. Also, thane i like how you compared the desloated city structure to shiver star because it'd never caught my eye how similar they are. The Chaos Elflis Fight was also a charm that made me smile because it had such similar attack's to some of the Soul bosses, Like Drawcia & Sectonia but added more new attacks to it. When i saw waddle-dee's being enslaved i was slightly heartbroken as waddle dees are so adorable and really just neutral enemies that cause little to no harm and are honestly very sweet. I also like how Leongar comes back to normal and does a little kirby dance aswell when yo usave him, just like with king dedede in some other games. In all this game was great and had SO much to offer to the player then some of the other games. But yeah this video was great, definitely giving a like for the great content thane.
What's so beautiful about these darker aspects of Kirby is that if you know it, you're a gamer. You care enough about video games one way or another. It's a revelation: something like stuffs that happen in H.P. Lovecraft's books.
Imagine being a kid in a Christian household, only grew up with Veggietales and such. Your parents bought you a Kirby game because it looked innocent. But at the end of the game, you saw one of those creatures (preferably Zero Two or Void Termina for maximum shock value). Your world is now turned upside down. Within the cartridge, a satanic hellspawn was awaiting for you. But you probably don't want to tell your parents.

Actually it's confirmed I think in game that the inhabitants of the Forgotten Land were actually those that live on Popstar. It's explained by Leongar that the inhabitants of the world left for a land of dreams. (Dreamland). Which left the Beast Pack in the old world. Overtime without the Dreamlanders to inhabit it the old world became run down and derelict. With remnants of previous civilizations left behind. So it's possible that Dedede's ancestors may have been the ones that contained Forgo and put him as a tourist attraction. But it seems that after the transition between planets technology regressed to a more middle ages esque time period with the advancements in technology now long since...well forgotten.
Was my first Kirby, was so good! I was kind of depressed by the games world, and not in a bad way, it was just a bit sad to see a ruined planet not knowing what really happened for part of the game.

One thing that I still find myself wondering about with forgotten lands is what happened to those native inhabitants. Like, we're told that they all just packed their bags and left, but why would they do that? _How_ would they even do that? Especially if we're assuming they were humans, what could possibly compel every human being on earth to just up and leave all their homes and a perfectly habitable planet forever?
It almost makes me imagine that the original inhabitants, who or whatever they were, were somehow influenced by Fecto Forgo to leave. Like it needed to get them out of the way if it were to have any chance of escape, and it's the real reason the forgotten land has been forgotten in the first place

I 100% Forgotten Lands and i recently returned to Star Allies and 100% it as well in 2023.
I can't watch it. I'm at world 4 but what do I know is years ago when I searched up for the Kirby lore it was really dark (I'm getting used to it because of Kingdom Hearts. I follow the lore since the first game came out) so I am glad that the game's plot is also very dark. I love cuteness mixed wirk dark elements because people see me as smol cute fella (or they're ignoring me) I am covering myself with cute things and shitty things are happening to me too. So I feel a bit better when I explore things like this.

it's said humans or the natural inhabitants left the planet to go to a land or planet of dreams and usually planet popular I known as that so what if somewhere there are or were more humans than adeleine maybe there just not shown or something happend to them
Well here’s what I think: they are the beings in dreamland like Waddle Dees and others. They just evolved after a lot of time. However, as we all know, color is quite powerful in Kirby. So that explains why only Ado still resembles a human.

This is just for future reference when you inevitably do dark aspects on future kirby games like robobot and star allies. Make sure you look at the japanese translations for the descriptions of bosses and characters because there's some major mistranslations/changes. Some I think you didn't notice such as in star allies with the description of susie for example not mechanizing planets again in which doesn't really make sense after what happened with her father, but actually trying to help them with haltman's creations in japanese. Also another that void termina is made up of all the chaos in the Kirby universe, soul, dark, dream and heart. Rpg monger has 2 great videos on this and just kirby lore in general, which I'll link in a reply.

they atleast are numerous enough to replace the dee’s and awoofy’s have more running power and could replace more waddle dees per awoofy

Ngl a very small part of me wants to feel bad for Elfilis for having been subjected to experiments and also essentially being an attraction to people and stuff- but another is like well he kinda did come to destroy everything the moment he showed up to the world so.... fair game I guess? Tho gotta say I have to really wonder how the civilization managed to capture this thing in the first place.
We dont even know why Elfilis attacked them in the first place. Also i think the people of the Forgotten Land arent that much better, i dont say Elfilis had the right to Attack them for no reason, but the people experimented on him to het his Teleportation Abillity's which probably caused a lot of pain and disabillity's (Probably mental problems as well) to the point that his Body degenerated into a Larva unable to move on his own which drove him into complete Madness while also holding a Grude against the Civilisation of the Forgotten Land. So in my Opinion, while Elfilis did something real bad to the Civilisation, the Civilisation was way more cruel to Elfilis than Elfilis to them, making both monsters, but its not even clear who is at fault here, because its really wierd that he just attacked for no reason so it could be that the People angered him or it could be that Elfilis is actually another reincarnation of Void because both are beings vorn in chais and have the Abillity to use all the Abillity's of Previous final bosses and both have a orb like form as their second phase.
@@falco05 Hm well assuming the people from Forgotten Land aren't lying, they do say Elfilis simply came one day with the intention of conquering and killing the world's inhabitants. It's not really all that uncommon for some antagonistic force to just want to conquer and destroy everything without reason, or at least any that we're ever really told of in the first place. Tho I can agree the people did abuse it and basically gave them a far worse fate than death, so one cant really help feel some sympathy for Elfilis over that. In the end we wont really know any time now or if ever what truly went on, but for now I guess its just easier to take things as face value until a future game or something comes out to tell us more. As for it being an incarnation, I honestly wouldn't be surprised at this point considering almost every baddy has something in relation to void lol. Unless we consider void and chaos two different things, so hey who knows.
@@Bluebadgerxoxo So it looks like to me the People were way more Cruel than Elfilis especialy because they seemingly only took his power and made him Degenerate back into a Larva purely out of greed which makes them look almost than Elfilis by giving him a fate worse than death by just keeping him in there for 30+ Year's, using him for Tourism to make Money of his Suffering, driving him Mad untill he Probably broke, driving him mad to the point where he saw fit in any Method to escape which lead to him Mind control all Animals that were left behind by the Civilisation who just ran from their responability of Taking care of their Planet or atleast free Elfilis of his Suffering or anything besides running like Coward's who think who stand above consquences which leads to the events of Forgotton Land where Kirby and Elfilin finally end Elfilis suffering by Elfilin absorbing the last piece of Chaos-Elfilis's soul and fusing back to one, also that Elifilin can even exist already prove that Elfilis isnt pure evil because Otherwise his other soul Half would also be evil.
I have this weird teory that definitely isn't true but some pieces do add up a bit too much
Kirby and metroid take place in the same universe
Kirby will always be that Nintendo franchise where a voracious pink gumball whose cuteness would cause the Nazis' faces to melt in some Ark of the Covenant type of fate, battle eltritch horrors, terrifying cults, and a furry handling earth while in post-apocalypse. One of a kind compared to your Mario, Pokémon and Zelda.
Kirby and the forgotten n started out really cute but it got dark eventually

Also on the shiver star note, I personally think it was mechanized by haltman, which is why it seems abandoned and tons of robots have taken over, and whenever Kirby eventually beats him in planet robobot and purifies his planet, it ends up purifying every other planet dominated by haltman , making shiver star into the unnamed place you play forgotten land in.. that’s just what I think personally, great video either way!

@@saralily0977 someone's soul gets destroyed trying to bring back his daughter who he presumed dead. The only reason he couldn't see his daughter for who she was was because his memories were being taken from him by the machine he was using to try to bring her back. He also mechanized a large amount of different planets and people in his quest which eventually had no purpose
If they keep doubling down on the darker side, I wonder if that gives a bad reputation for the series as whole?

@@mslabo102s2 it kind of already was in older games in kirby 64 the boss is like accurate eye angle and one of the first final bosse of the older game like the third or fourth game had a boss where it is a giant white black matter with a red eye and when you beat the first phase the eye just dislogeds it self from it's body spraying blood and then attacks with it's own blood from it's eye if that isn't dark i don't know what is

I just find it interesting to talk about lol, I've been doing it for 6 years now. I think it's because I grew up with games that incorporated the heavier stuff subtly, and I came to appreciate that type of storytelling as an adult. There's something fascinating to me about games that are bright & cheery on the surface with an unexpected undercurrent. It manages to surprise me in a way that overtly "adult" media can't anymore

Am I really the only one that finds the Morpho Knight butterfly’s shoehorning into the canon story to be extremely fucking stupid?
Here we have the MOST MYSTERIOUS and mind blowing character in all the kirby series, and he just appears in an alternate dimension OF an alternate dimension, which is stupid enough on its own, and then proceeds to fight Kirby for absolutely no reason whatsoever as if he were evil.
I’d be fine with this if it was just another non-canon arena exclusive fan service scenario like in star allies, its ridiculousness would have been excused then, but no this shit is canon now lmao
I was hoping his canon appearance would be something major like Void and integral to the story of a future kirby game, but the mans been relegated to a jobber. Dude just shows up in a place he has no business being in and gets his ass beat by kirby.
I mean yeah I agree but I like how it’s basically means that death itself wants Kirby dead, but can’t do it since Kirby is awesome.
Morpho knight didn’t randomly show up, he was sucked into the other dimension along with kirby as seen in the intro. Also he is drawn to powerful souls (soul forgo basically) to absorb to become a knight by casting judgment. Morpho knight can also be judging kirby’s worthiness to be popstars hero by fighting him sort of like meta knight does. If you bother to think its not hard to realise why he’s there
He was actually planned to be in the series since the GameCube era but the game was canceled. So it’s more likely that it was intentionally repurposed this way since they couldn’t do it before and wanted to catch us off guard.
Edit: I realized you meant this game specifically and I should point out that Morpho Knight is seen being sucked into the portal at the beginning cutscene of the game.
Yeah I however was not expecting to literally get his powers as a reward like I'm starting to question if kirby really could posses an enemy he just chooses not too
