    This is overall the best Guide 650 video I have seen to date. Great job on covering technical specs and real world application with this unit. I have seen a few 650 unboxing videos in Russia where the unit has a lower profile mount. Have you heard any rumors regarding a QD mount for this line? How sharp could you get the unit to focus 200-400ish yards? Some of those coyotes were a bit blurry. Was that the best it could do or was is slightly out of focus? Thanks again. Ordering two.

      Wow, thank you for the kind words. We tried hard on this one. Yes, I believe ADM style mounts are coming out. I would reach out to Preston at Strictly Offensive Kit . He’ll know more about that directly. Coyotes at 200 yards were no problem even at 300. Past that is a little challenging, but focus certainly wasn’t an issue …just more an issue of them being small in the screen. The focus on this with that adjustable, focal knob is really good.
      Thanks for watching!

      Thanks brother. Thanks for watching. Like I said at that price point in that realm it’s dang impressive. If you don’t need some of the other bells and whistles of higher cost units.

      @@longrangeprecisionshooters8935 I had a quick question for you? Have you had a chance to look through the Rix Leap 6 in comparison to the TR650? With them both being 2.8 base magnification, just wondering which display and image looks better? Thank you for any info! I’m so indecisive, lol

      no I haven’t. But I have heard really good things about that unit as well. If I get my hands on one and get the chance to look through it, I’ll let you know what I think. Thanks for watching.

    Awesome to see a video of this! PARD and Sytong seem to be similar brands, the difference being Guide Sensmart offer cheaper prices while the other two have integrated laser range finder options. The Guide Sensmart laser range finder you can buy is $700 and says it's effective up to 600 yards so is questionable, even though using it for hunting still viable. Meanwhile I'm either waiting to buy in November or December or to wait for next year to see if anyone is going to make a cheaper version of iRay's 1024 resolution camera, or I forget if it's 1280, I think it's 1280. Refresh rate of 30hz which might as well be unusable.

    • @longrangeprecisionshooters8935
      @longrangeprecisionshooters8935  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That’s awesome insight…. Thanks for the comment! My only concern with that is if iRay gets shut down by the embargo and we can’t get them state side???

    • @saintsinningsword
      @saintsinningsword 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@longrangeprecisionshooters8935 Only embargo I heard of was speculation, L3Harris is the leading US distributor of night vision and thermal cameras and scopes for the military as well as law enforcement in the states, they would push for an embargo which would give them a monopoly if they could. I thought iRay would be protected too since they give boutique prices as well despite being chinese made. Don't know if real or not until prices jump or stock disappears from stores. I wish I could buy US made optics like Trijicon's thermals if the prices weren't so oppressive. That and LRF models even more expensive. 384 resolution thermals over $3k is a crime.

      @@longrangeprecisionshooters8935 Thank you for the info! The guys got me hooked up on the TR650 and I was curious what other bits I might need. Glad to see Guide is taking care of the accessories right out of the gate! More funds I can put towards the add on LRF!

    I wish I had a better understanding of the focal lengths.
    On a full-frame camera, 50mm is about the same focal length of a human eye. Putting a 50mm lens on a full-frame camera will take pictures with the same level of zoom as the human eye. However, on a APS-C camera the sensor is smaller than a full-frame camera, which introduces about 1.6x magnification to the image, so your 50mm lens on that camera becomes an 80mm lens. The resulting picture will be zoomed in. I wish I knew the physical sensor size of these thermal units, so I could understand what the native focal length is. 50mm is the focal length of the lens on this unit, but without knowing the sensor size (the physical size, not the resolution), the consumer cannot know what the actual focal length is.

    Title and description say 640, is it a 650?

    • @longrangeprecisionshooters8935
      @longrangeprecisionshooters8935  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      650 is the unit name. 640 refers to the resolution of the unit itself. 50 is referring to the millimeter germanium lens, which is why they named it as such but again 640 refers to the actual resolution, which is the more important piece when you’re looking at the price?
