Well, how about this addition of a villain in your collection - Eeech from soviet cartoon "Wow, a talking fish" or something like that (rus. "Ух ты, говорящая рыба"), don't know how it was translated. Seriously, such an effort and trippyness (is this even a word?) were put into this guy's animation, especially for that time. P. S. - many people call this cartoon Russian, but it was made in ARMENIA! C'mon guys, USSR is not only Russia, there were 15 republics.
how odd, I share this obsession, to the point most of my OC's have this trope. If I may, another villain I have found particularly compelling is, Cyn from murder drones and Alastor from the Hazbin Hotel and, of course, my own villains such as the one that graces my profile picture.
@@Yektpsigra No, they're referring to the undead, bird party host from the famous currently-in-development "Billie Bust Up". Please check it out it looking to be a very fun game.
@@Tanuki_Tales from my understanding yes, currently they can barely do stuff in the physical world, but if they manage to get in, all hell will break lose. so basically Bill Cypher, except they have slight physical form(a literal crow)
THIS IS AWESOME! Like- even disgarding the absolute stage presence of Ken Page's voice and performance as Oogie Boogie, this animatic is such a perfect villain introduction for your character. The mark on the hand matching the imagery of the hero implies a connection which draws the hero (possibly looking for answers) into the trap, villain catches the hero off guard, excellent transformation animation btw, especially the way he stretches out at first. The Hero seems to be experiencing Big Fish syndrome where maybe up to this point the threats they've been dealing with have been more manageable (big fish in a small pond), so when they meet a major threat it allows for a massive shift in the status quo. And we see that with the Hero, while having been put on the backfoot initially, making demands, thinking they can intimidate their way out of the fight, only for the Villain to flip the script and do some crazy shit, clearly showing that this is a game to him, while the Hero is straight up fighting for their life. And oh my God! The design of this dude, the way he moves, and shifts, and twists. The visual language of the whole scene affirming the text as written. This is masterful, and I need to dig to see if there's more about these characters on your channel.
Though I’m really interested in what our hero can do, like she counters the snake with some kinda magic, and then she turns invisible or something a second time
This is the scene where the hero meets a very powerful villain pretty early on and is helpless to win and sets up even better for the final confrontation at the end
Gotta love a chaotic evil who just toys with the protagonist. This character is like if Bill Cypher, fused with Dr. facilier, but has the voice of Oogie Boogie. Well done 👍
GOD I LOVE THIS GUY his design and the way he moves in sync with the music he is so cool omhduawhjaudhuawaijodasjida YOU COOKED STAY IN THE KITCHEN (more of this guy i love him so much) god hes so awesome sauce 100/10
This is beyond boss. The fluidity of the villain mixed with his fondness for twisted imagery weaves together beautifully and the fact that our hero/protagonist seems helpless to do anything just makes it better. Not to mention his legitimately creepy design makes him truly seem like a twisted god in a world of his own. No leaving, no control, just a puppet under a shadowy master that gleefully enjoys every moment of your torture. The twisted imagery is incredibly powerful, the villain is portrayed beautifully, and the animation is on point. Masterpiece of an animation.
In the beginning, I thought it was a reimagining of spy vs spy using this song. And the plot was like a warlock forced into a pact with a greater power.
This fells like when youre watching a funny cool little animation on cartoon network or smthing and then suddenly shit gets serious and a terror beyond imagination hits the screen out of nowhere

I absolutely adored all of the small details in this, it would take a lifetime to point them all out but I’ll try my best to do all the ones I really like. The man in the box that turns into the bogeyman resembles a turned over Jack in The Box, I don’t know if it was intended but it’s fun. The lights going out a row at a time is just fun in any context but you did it really well! The bogeyman, who was so much bird imagery, putting the character in a bird cage is great irony. The faces changing is just done so beautifully, I love all of them! The literal eye roll! The changing of the symbol on the back of their hand at “I’m laughing” to a laughing face. The flashlight creating a “spotlight” on the fight as well as the bogeyman pointing it towards their face like they’re telling a spooky story. The bogeyman’s face morphing out of the other’s is just *chef’s kiss*. The horizontal blink is SO creepy. And finally, the bogeyman being a literal crow at the end. It’s just all so wonderful, thank you for making it!
This is beautifully done and I’m shamelessly taking aspects of how you portray a hero out of their depth and a monster toying with them for my own OCs.
