I would love to ask just because I'm curious about the process. Some segments within the animatic are boarded with a much higher framerate than others. Is this just to get across whats happening? Or did you do this just because you liked those parts (to me they're some of the most visually interesting)?

Yeah because usually from what I see the fire is all jumpy and animated while the ice is the calm and controlled one it’s nice to it the other way around for once
Well with winter season it's advised to keep moving to produce friction and heat to help cool down. While in the summer, you move more slowly and preserve that energy because the heat will drain you.

It seems like Heat Miser has way more control over her powers then Snow Miser. She just looks so deliberate with her actions while Snowy is EVERYWHERE (I still love the chilly gremlin)
Could be that snow is more the “energetic prankster” type while heat is more the more “sophisticated aristocrat” type too. At least that’s what I got from it.
As a person taller than most my family and able to easily break things on accident, my movements are usually quite slow especially if I'm around others, like heat miser they're mess ups can't be easily fixed like Snow miser, if Snow miser accidentally freezes someone they can just send them over to Heat miser, but if Heat miser burned someone by accident that can only be healed by slow normal healing, so Heat miser learn to be more delicate and controlled with their movements especially when around other people, otherwise they could hurt someone, but Snow miser got to mess up all the time with barely any repercussion because Heat miser could and had to clean up their mess ups, this can explain why Snow miser thanks Heat miser is uptight, and could explains why Heat miser is annoyed with Snow miser, because both of their powers are complete opposites one of them will always be seen as good and the other as bad, because society only sees results, and so both of them changed their personality until they matched what society seen of them, a flame to be kept in a cage and snow to cover the landscape
Snow miser never wants it to go above 40°, and heat miser never wants it to go below 60°. This means both misers are absolutely miserable at 50°, and I wanna see the animation where the two misers get along over mutual hate of 50°.
Imagine the two sisters had a brother that they both despised more than one another called mild miser. He is just room temperature and is the most down to earth of the syblings just being a normal and not over the top guy. The kind of guy you watch his favourite anime with but he doesn't gush or spoil anything about it. "Oh yeah, I like one piece. It's pretty good, maybe you should check it out if you have time."
What I really love about this is that while you went the two contrasting personalities route, Heat Miser is not SO classy, cool, collected or "ironically cold" that she comes across like she doesn't want to be there. She's still smiling, laughing, dancing, being a bit cute and having fun, but simply expressing her enjoyment in a more downplayed way than the Looney Tooney antics of the Snow Miser. . Like she embodies warmth in the "cozy" sense more than anything else. It makes her balanced and a slightly less obvious take on reversing the "powers = personality" trope than expected, and makes her a lot more fun to watch
I really noticed how Snow Miser was all touchy touchy and just didn’t care, while Heat Miser was gentle and even checked what kind of ice the dude was frozen in (she touched the cube for a second then backed off when she realized it wasn’t normal ice). Even when she touched the girl (Ava?) Heat Miser didn’t immediately burn her, unlike the instantaneous freeze Snow Miser caused
oh, interesting interpretation. i thought of heat miser touching the ice for barely a second and then smirking after she took her hand off as teasing like "haha you thought i would melt the ice but i didn't" or laughing at them like "haha can't believe you got frozen by my sister" sort of thing and i thought she gives off slightly more mature and older sister energy and is probably a lot more careful about touching people than snow miser, considering burning someone probably isn't as easily reversible as freezing someone in a block of ice
@@iamthebleh I totally agree with the "haha you thought i would melt the ice but i didn't" interpretation! Like she recognized her sister had met them and she was teasing them showing she has more control of her powers than her sister who freezes everything with just a touch whilst heat miser could control herself enough to not melt the ice by just touching it. Like a slight brag, but she does overall feel more mature.
Another interesting thing to note is that Heat Miser's Temperatures generally won't kill you, Her lower temps of 80 is actually fairly comfortable. Snow Miser on the other hand at minimum prefers 40 which can kill people... And it progressively get more dangerous as he lists them down.
It could have been a brag , teasing and her checking what kind of ice she was dealing with in order to use the appropriate kind of tempature without killing the person inside.
Seeing them side by side shows how they really are sisters yet are nothing alike. Snow Miser has the feel of the younger hyper active sister while Heat Miser had the feeling of the mature older sister that is still sassy. Even their movements in their songs show how opposite they are with one fast, sporadic and will drive you insane while the other is slow, graceful yet is still full diva and loves the attention and has to make sure it is all about her. Yeah you can tell they are sisters.
Agreed. While their personalities are near opposites, their tastes are similar. The same “some like it [temp] but I like it really [temp]” joke, same intro song, and similar nickname choices. Both love attention too, and are theatrical to keep it. You can tell they had the same upbringing, and influence of Mother Nature. Without knowing the original story, one would assume Mother Nature was equally theatrical, and encouraged her children to make the best of their unique gift. Snowy likely got along better with hyper children with snow day activities, while Hot Stuff learned her Femme Fatale from teens and young adults doing summer parties. When their powers became too dangerous for the average mortal, they isolated in their domains, but still enjoy when people come to visit.
Dudes,…those was some excellent analysis’ of the miser sisters. Both of the long comments actually sound like behind the scenes commentary and how the creators wanted to represent the characters.
You can really tell they got different kinds of attention growing up, snow immediately went into full dance and choreography but heat kinda took a bit, heat was likely more so used as a tool while snow was more so used as entertainment, he got excited about being able to do Their dance and choreography rather than needing to heat up metal or light a flame which could also explain why snow thinks that heat is attention hungry because they are they don't get much unlike snow, heat has some kind of throne while snow has a platform, I very much like the yin yang they have
I like how Heat Miser has a little more muscle tone than Snow Miser, really hammers home that she's stronger and more experienced with her powers than her little sister... also buff girl supremacy.
The energy that the sisters give off is totally different. With Snow Miser, it feels like you would go rob a bank with them and then get smoothies afterwards. With Heat Miser, it feels like you would get totally flustered and angry over her and fall into a pit of lava

It's always been my theory that the further north you live, the faster you talk because it's cold as hell, and you need to get info out as fast as you can. The further south you travel, the slower people talk because it's so freaking hot.

The fact that Heat Miser slowly thawed out him is accurate to since drastically changing the external temperature around the human body actually can be hazardous for your health. That’s why when you are dealing with heat or cold outside you typically want to gradually cool yourself down or heat yourself up

I love the mix of playfulness and danger they exude. Like, they're not INHERENTLY malicious, but they know what they do and enjoy it a lot. Too much, one might say.
Yeah, they aren’t going out of their way to cause trouble it just sorta happens as a consequence of them being them they just don’t particularly care about the effects of their actions.

Yeah and towards the end you can just tell she's just done with all this miser bullshit, she just wants her companion unfrozen and to be as far away as humanly possible (Edit: didn't realize the unfrozen one was a woman. My mistake)
my only "complaint" is that i think the aftermaths should be part of this as well! funnily enough, they're my favorite part of the MCU (Miser Cinematic Universe)
Snow miser and heat miser in this video are perfect opposites in all honesty, snow looks a bit insane and energetic while heat is calm and deliberate along with a number of other things.
I feel like these two don't like each other, but if one was in trouble the other would go full elemental. Also; Heat's entire reaction through most of her song is just; Oh god what's Snow done this time?
Yeah, if one was truly in trouble the other would most definitely be cause world wide chaos. Though yeah Heat definitely learned it was Snow’s doing the moment she touched the ice
@@hyperdreamer9483 Yeah, definitely, though I did mean they would go full elemental in reaction to their sibling being actively threatened. Might not be a good idea to threaten the walking sun, when a walking ice age could just sweep in, in protective sibling mode.
I love the small details to show that despite being different they both are a bit similar (similar lyrics included), while Snow Miser is energetic and seems to have a love of entertaining to be the center of attention, Heat Miser is more like a diva wanting the spotlight. Going so far as to delay using her powers on the two as much as possible, while SM uses them almost instantly during the handshake. HM's swagger is like that of a slow burning fire, while SM's movements are like a fast moving blizzard. Not to mention how the "miserlings" follow along with SM and HM. The ones for Miss Snowball are moving more actively while the ones for Miss Fireball are more relaxed and carefree.
Is it just me or both misers move and *feel* differently When Snow Miser dances, it's all over the place yet her body still feels stiff. Like a stickman but they use rulers instead of drawing the lines freely. When Heat Miser dances, it's slow but flows like lava. It feels like a freely drawn line. It doesn't use rulers and makes a simple flowing line. That's pretty cool.
Just like ice and fire in real life. Snow Miser's dance is like a snowflake, always floating and darting everywhere. Heat Miser dances slowly, steadily, and with elegance, much like flames in a fireplace.
I love that snow miser seems like they're really friendly and the only reason they froze the one person was simply because it was an accident. They got too excited meeting new people and let their powers out. A big reason I feel this way is they seem super friendly, even giving handshakes. But the main thing is when they froze the person they said "Too much" as if they didn't mean to do that, but simply used their powers too much.
idk why but i think this is a fun head canon for me, they each just have one of the two people that they like, so they mess with that one they like, snow miser likes the one they froze, and heat miser likes the one that didn't get frozen so they just kept (basically) talking to them. but then they decided to melt the ice on the other one. this is just based off of this one, this is the only one I've seen and they are just so smiley soooo. i think this also because they seem like they want to impress them.
While watching this I’ve noticed two things with how snow and heat miser move and act. Snow miser : desperate for any type of positive comments so puts a show for any guests that come by and therefore moves all quick and jumpy Heat miser: doesn’t care about what others say about her but has a decent sized ego and therefore moves slow and calm with a bit of a elegant mixed in. Btw this was a absolute treat to watch 10/10

Headcanon for the reason they refer to themselves with female pronouns and the backup singers use male ones is that they're both the genderfluid icons we deserve.
One thing I found really cool is that snow miser’s hair was all jagged and rigid like a block of ice while heat miser’s hair floated up which reminded me of fire but also swayed in the air and flowed which really reminded of lava
It's interesting how your version of these characters is almost an inversion of their canon portrayals, since canon Snow Miser is the one with a pretense of class, while Heat Miser is much trashier/frumpier. Here, you have a manic Snow Miser and a very elegant Heat Miser.
I hope we do but I’m not sure if we will as it’s based off a song from a movie, however it would be neat if we got a mini series of the two just interacting etc.

The fact that Snow Miser never wants a day that’s over 40 degrees, while Heat Miser never wants a day under 60 degrees makes me think there’s a Room Temperature Miser, who’s just a regular person.
I love how they move correlates with their temperature, when your cold you move around a lot to try and regain body heat, while when you're hot you're sluggish and you don't move too much to prevent heating up, really nice detail
YESS ITS HERE Snow miser is definitely a lot more hyperactive, especially when it comes to the dances while Heat miser seems to move with a lot more elegantly and moving more up than down (kinda like if fire was able to dance?)

Please I can't get over how amazing these animatics are! The movement and framing are such perfection, also the covers of the songs? Perfection. The unhinged-ness of Snow Meiser is the best interpretation I've ever seen lmfao
i really like how they seem to be animated at diffent parts of the animation process, snow mizer looks more like a story board with low fps and messy lines, showing the "all over the place" atrobutes in their ice. heat mizer looks more like a final animation with a more consistant linewaight and smoother animation, showing how they have developed more control over her powers than their sister
I really hope we get more pieces to this story - a prologue prior to meeting Snow Miser perhaps, as well as an epilogue to what happens here...Cause right now, I can't help but feel sorry for the pair that got roped into this...We don't even know why they came to see Snow Miser in the first place, and one of them gets trapped in ice. Then the other has to push him all the way _here_ and then sit through _another song and dance routine._ I mean, look at how tired she is of listening to this by the end of Heat Miser's song...She's just done at this point; completely fed-up with these forces of nature having such fragile egos that they have to be their own hype-women while introducing themselves.
The songs come from "A Year Without a Santa Claus", but the pair don't look like elves. (the wikipedia entry sounds like it says four people visited the Miser siblings: the two elves, Mrs. Claus and a child from Southtown) I'm pretty sure the only reason you'd deal with the Miser siblings is if you needed unusual weather somewhere specific. Heat Miser melts any snow Snow Miser sends down south, and presumably vice versa Snow Miser chills any scorching weather Heat Miser sends up north, so you need to get them working together to fulfill a request for hot weather somewhere cold or cold weather/snow somewhere hot.
Addendum: In the "Aftermath" animatic which takes place after the "Snow Miser" one, there's no hint of a request or deal, just sending the humans to Heat Miser to unfreeze the ice block.
Huh, that’s funny. I was actually watching these videos earlier today lol. These animatics are great and I love the parts where it’s more animated ( though they are animatics and animation is tough so I understand why they aren’t fully animated )
I love how Snow Miser is the energetic sibling while Heat Miser is the relaxed one. Snow Miser can't control herself and accidentally freezes the guy, and Heat Miser seems to take her time to gauge how bad the ice is before carefully thawing him out.
Now this is just incredible! I love the reimagination of the two and how both are shown through style and subtle hints but keep to the original spark alive. Snow Miser seems to be younger, a little chaotic, very exaggerated like a cartoon character but with the jolliness similar of Dick Shawn's Snow Miser. Meanwhile heat miser is more calm, controlled, much smaller but much more detailed movement with the sass and attitude of the original George S. Irving's heat miser. Jolly Good Show!
Just a thought, seeing Heat Miser kiss the ice block to melt it would be really fitting for her personality that you have here! Plus who wouldn't melt from a kiss from her? ;D
So, I thought about something cool and idk if anyone has said it but I'll say it now and it's about how each Miser moves during their respective songs. Heat Miser is graceful and fluid but they also move rather slowly and don't tend to make big, exaggerated movements; which could mimic how people in general act during extreme heat. They don't wanna move unnecessarily or they'll feel even hotter. Compare that to Snow Miser, who is hopping and skippin all over the place, which for most people is gonna bring up your body temp and keep you warm. Just thought that was a cool possibly intentional possibly unintentional detail that I thought of at 4 am.
I like how snow miser is energetic and fast while heat miser is slow and methodical cause it completely contradicts their temperatures. Snow miser should be slow and heat miser should be quick it’s kinda like their equal hatred for 50 degrees something that brings them together
I’d say Snow Miser’s more energetic performance is a representation of the omnipresence of the cold when Winter rolls around as well as how fast a Snow Storm can be. While Heat Miser’s slower movement is a representation is how how groggy and slow the summer heat can feel
Have to say I adore how these two are animated here. Really like the more ridget and speratic movements of Snow Miser and the slower flowy movements of Heat Miser it fits really well both in their respective elemental flashiness and their personalities. Will also say nice one there on the genderfuild thing, given that fire and ice are only ever in stages of "alive and dead" and constantly changing otherwise.
I like how the elements contrast their their personalities to some. . degree. Cold Miser is hyper when you'd expect her to be frigid or callous. Heat Miser is calmer (relatively) and laid-back despite being fiery. She is a little more sultry, though, so that kind of checks out.
It's been well over 20+ years since I was introduced to this old classic thanks to that magnificent christmas film that is "A Year without a Santa Claus". These characters stood out to me, their songs becoming my favorite and I always loved the concept. (It's also a reason why I love Adventure Time's Ice King & the Flame Kingdom) It's been about 10-15 years since I added yet another project to my list, which was a new/adapted/cover version of this classic series of scenes featuring them. However, seeing this now, I am going to put the idea to bed. You have outdone and met the expectations I had set for myself, and I didn't even commission you for this. So thank you for checking part of my bucket list off. Thank you for making an incredible series of animations. Thank you for two amazing covers. Thank you for bringing back the classics. And thank you for introducing these iconic characters to future generations. I hope they enjoy them as much as the rest of us fellow miser fans. I had not known of you prior to watching these three videos this evening, but you've earned yourself a fan and new sub. Thanks for brightening my day, and letting me revisit a part of my childhood. Keep up the phenomenal work. You're going places, call it a gut feeling. You have a great creative mind and an amazing talent.

I literally shivered here! Excitement ran wild. Everything, *EVERYTHING* is very detailed: the expressions, the animation itself, the creativity and the work placed here as well. While Snow Miser gave me Spinel vibes, Heat Miser gave me that mature character vibe, but at the same time she wasn't as cold as I thought she would be (smiling more in the animation). BIG CONGRATULATIONS!! I want a movie rn hahaha

Well, can't say how happy I am to have found this. I mean, what can I say that hasn't probably been said already? The designs? Lovely. The voices? Lovely. The actual movements of the characters? Lovely. Just, brilliant job and, as I said, I'm glad to have found this. I look forward to what else you're working on, like the Heat Miser Aftermath! I definitely do hope you do the little singing battle between the two from their solo special some day, as I really wanna see these two bounce of each other directly. But please take your time.
I love love love so much that you break the trope that a character with any relation to ice must be cold and heartless and a character with flames and fire must be angry, hot headed and excited most of the time.
I really love the bits where the animation suddenly becomes ultra-fluid in sync with little bits like a giggle. I just want a playlist where each of them plays over and over again each 10 times.

The animation of heat misers hair is so fluid! I really love the engery difference between the two misers as well- cold is more childlike and energetic, while heat is more languid and mature. You did a really awesome job!
See, normally you'd see the person related to ice be the calm one and the one related to fire be the energetic one, but these two invert that sort of dynamic and I love it.

As a person taller than most my family and able to easily break things on accident, my movements are usually quite slow especially if I'm around others, like heat miser they're mess ups can't be easily fixed like Snow miser, if Snow miser accidentally freezes someone they can just send them over to Heat miser, but if Heat miser burned someone by accident that can only be healed by slow normal healing, so Heat miser learn to be more delicate and controlled with their movements especially when around other people, otherwise they could hurt someone, but Snow miser got to mess up all the time with barely any repercussion because Heat miser could and had to clean up their mess ups, this can explain why Snow miser thanks Heat miser is uptight, and could explains why Heat miser is annoyed with Snow miser, because both of their powers are complete opposites one of them will always be seen as good and the other as bad, because society only sees results, and so both of them changed their personality until they matched what society seen of them, a flame to be kept in a cage and snow to cover the landscape

Snow miser never wants it to go above 40°, and heat miser never wants it to go below 60°. This means both misers are absolutely miserable at 50°, and I wanna see the animation where the two misers get along over mutual hate of 50°.

Imagine the two sisters had a brother that they both despised more than one another called mild miser. He is just room temperature and is the most down to earth of the syblings just being a normal and not over the top guy. The kind of guy you watch his favourite anime with but he doesn't gush or spoil anything about it. "Oh yeah, I like one piece. It's pretty good, maybe you should check it out if you have time."

What I really love about this is that while you went the two contrasting personalities route, Heat Miser is not SO classy, cool, collected or "ironically cold" that she comes across like she doesn't want to be there.
She's still smiling, laughing, dancing, being a bit cute and having fun, but simply expressing her enjoyment in a more downplayed way than the Looney Tooney antics of the Snow Miser. . Like she embodies warmth in the "cozy" sense more than anything else.
It makes her balanced and a slightly less obvious take on reversing the "powers = personality" trope than expected, and makes her a lot more fun to watch
I really noticed how Snow Miser was all touchy touchy and just didn’t care, while Heat Miser was gentle and even checked what kind of ice the dude was frozen in (she touched the cube for a second then backed off when she realized it wasn’t normal ice). Even when she touched the girl (Ava?) Heat Miser didn’t immediately burn her, unlike the instantaneous freeze Snow Miser caused
oh, interesting interpretation. i thought of heat miser touching the ice for barely a second and then smirking after she took her hand off as teasing like "haha you thought i would melt the ice but i didn't" or laughing at them like "haha can't believe you got frozen by my sister" sort of thing
and i thought she gives off slightly more mature and older sister energy and is probably a lot more careful about touching people than snow miser, considering burning someone probably isn't as easily reversible as freezing someone in a block of ice

Like she recognized her sister had met them and she was teasing them showing she has more control of her powers than her sister who freezes everything with just a touch whilst heat miser could control herself enough to not melt the ice by just touching it. Another interesting thing to note is that Heat Miser's Temperatures generally won't kill you, Her lower temps of 80 is actually fairly comfortable.
Snow Miser on the other hand at minimum prefers 40 which can kill people... And it progressively get more dangerous as he lists them down.
It could have been a brag , teasing and her checking what kind of ice she was dealing with in order to use the appropriate kind of tempature without killing the person inside.
Seeing them side by side shows how they really are sisters yet are nothing alike. Snow Miser has the feel of the younger hyper active sister while Heat Miser had the feeling of the mature older sister that is still sassy. Even their movements in their songs show how opposite they are with one fast, sporadic and will drive you insane while the other is slow, graceful yet is still full diva and loves the attention and has to make sure it is all about her. Yeah you can tell they are sisters.
Agreed. While their personalities are near opposites, their tastes are similar. The same “some like it [temp] but I like it really [temp]” joke, same intro song, and similar nickname choices. Both love attention too, and are theatrical to keep it. You can tell they had the same upbringing, and influence of Mother Nature.
Without knowing the original story, one would assume Mother Nature was equally theatrical, and encouraged her children to make the best of their unique gift. Snowy likely got along better with hyper children with snow day activities, while Hot Stuff learned her Femme Fatale from teens and young adults doing summer parties. When their powers became too dangerous for the average mortal, they isolated in their domains, but still enjoy when people come to visit.

Both of the long comments actually sound like behind the scenes commentary and how the creators wanted to represent the characters.
You can really tell they got different kinds of attention growing up, snow immediately went into full dance and choreography but heat kinda took a bit, heat was likely more so used as a tool while snow was more so used as entertainment, he got excited about being able to do Their dance and choreography rather than needing to heat up metal or light a flame which could also explain why snow thinks that heat is attention hungry because they are they don't get much unlike snow, heat has some kind of throne while snow has a platform, I very much like the yin yang they have

The energy that the sisters give off is totally different. With Snow Miser, it feels like you would go rob a bank with them and then get smoothies afterwards. With Heat Miser, it feels like you would get totally flustered and angry over her and fall into a pit of lava
You can see similarities in the choreography for both parts. It's cool to see especially back to back for comparison.
Also Snow Miser's thermometer is in Celsius while Heat Miser's is in Fahrenheit.

The fact that Heat Miser slowly thawed out him is accurate to since drastically changing the external temperature around the human body actually can be hazardous for your health. That’s why when you are dealing with heat or cold outside you typically want to gradually cool yourself down or heat yourself up

Snow miser and heat miser in this video are perfect opposites in all honesty, snow looks a bit insane and energetic while heat is calm and deliberate along with a number of other things.

I love the small details to show that despite being different they both are a bit similar (similar lyrics included), while Snow Miser is energetic and seems to have a love of entertaining to be the center of attention, Heat Miser is more like a diva wanting the spotlight. Going so far as to delay using her powers on the two as much as possible, while SM uses them almost instantly during the handshake. HM's swagger is like that of a slow burning fire, while SM's movements are like a fast moving blizzard.
Not to mention how the "miserlings" follow along with SM and HM. The ones for Miss Snowball are moving more actively while the ones for Miss Fireball are more relaxed and carefree.

I love that snow miser seems like they're really friendly and the only reason they froze the one person was simply because it was an accident. They got too excited meeting new people and let their powers out. A big reason I feel this way is they seem super friendly, even giving handshakes. But the main thing is when they froze the person they said "Too much" as if they didn't mean to do that, but simply used their powers too much.

idk why but i think this is a fun head canon for me, they each just have one of the two people that they like, so they mess with that one they like, snow miser likes the one they froze, and heat miser likes the one that didn't get frozen so they just kept (basically) talking to them. but then they decided to melt the ice on the other one. this is just based off of this one, this is the only one I've seen and they are just so smiley soooo. i think this also because they seem like they want to impress them.
While watching this I’ve noticed two things with how snow and heat miser move and act.
Snow miser : desperate for any type of positive comments so puts a show for any guests that come by and therefore moves all quick and jumpy
Heat miser: doesn’t care about what others say about her but has a decent sized ego and therefore moves slow and calm with a bit of a elegant mixed in.

One thing I found really cool is that snow miser’s hair was all jagged and rigid like a block of ice while heat miser’s hair floated up which reminded me of fire but also swayed in the air and flowed which really reminded of lava

It's interesting how your version of these characters is almost an inversion of their canon portrayals, since canon Snow Miser is the one with a pretense of class, while Heat Miser is much trashier/frumpier. Here, you have a manic Snow Miser and a very elegant Heat Miser.
I've been waiting so long for this, it's just such a unique and intriguing story. Can't wait to see the next chapter in the Miser's wacky lives!

i really like how they seem to be animated at diffent parts of the animation process, snow mizer looks more like a story board with low fps and messy lines, showing the "all over the place" atrobutes in their ice. heat mizer looks more like a final animation with a more consistant linewaight and smoother animation, showing how they have developed more control over her powers than their sister

I really hope we get more pieces to this story - a prologue prior to meeting Snow Miser perhaps, as well as an epilogue to what happens here...Cause right now, I can't help but feel sorry for the pair that got roped into this...We don't even know why they came to see Snow Miser in the first place, and one of them gets trapped in ice. Then the other has to push him all the way _here_ and then sit through _another song and dance routine._
I mean, look at how tired she is of listening to this by the end of Heat Miser's song...She's just done at this point; completely fed-up with these forces of nature having such fragile egos that they have to be their own hype-women while introducing themselves.
The songs come from "A Year Without a Santa Claus", but the pair don't look like elves. (the wikipedia entry sounds like it says four people visited the Miser siblings: the two elves, Mrs. Claus and a child from Southtown)
I'm pretty sure the only reason you'd deal with the Miser siblings is if you needed unusual weather somewhere specific.
Heat Miser melts any snow Snow Miser sends down south, and presumably vice versa Snow Miser chills any scorching weather Heat Miser sends up north, so you need to get them working together to fulfill a request for hot weather somewhere cold or cold weather/snow somewhere hot.
Addendum: In the "Aftermath" animatic which takes place after the "Snow Miser" one, there's no hint of a request or deal, just sending the humans to Heat Miser to unfreeze the ice block.

I love how Snow Miser is the energetic sibling while Heat Miser is the relaxed one. Snow Miser can't control herself and accidentally freezes the guy, and Heat Miser seems to take her time to gauge how bad the ice is before carefully thawing him out.
Now this is just incredible! I love the reimagination of the two and how both are shown through style and subtle hints but keep to the original spark alive. Snow Miser seems to be younger, a little chaotic, very exaggerated like a cartoon character but with the jolliness similar of Dick Shawn's Snow Miser. Meanwhile heat miser is more calm, controlled, much smaller but much more detailed movement with the sass and attitude of the original George S. Irving's heat miser. Jolly Good Show!

So, I thought about something cool and idk if anyone has said it but I'll say it now and it's about how each Miser moves during their respective songs. Heat Miser is graceful and fluid but they also move rather slowly and don't tend to make big, exaggerated movements; which could mimic how people in general act during extreme heat. They don't wanna move unnecessarily or they'll feel even hotter. Compare that to Snow Miser, who is hopping and skippin all over the place, which for most people is gonna bring up your body temp and keep you warm. Just thought that was a cool possibly intentional possibly unintentional detail that I thought of at 4 am.

I’d say Snow Miser’s more energetic performance is a representation of the omnipresence of the cold when Winter rolls around as well as how fast a Snow Storm can be. While Heat Miser’s slower movement is a representation is how how groggy and slow the summer heat can feel

Have to say I adore how these two are animated here. Really like the more ridget and speratic movements of Snow Miser and the slower flowy movements of Heat Miser it fits really well both in their respective elemental flashiness and their personalities. Will also say nice one there on the genderfuild thing, given that fire and ice are only ever in stages of "alive and dead" and constantly changing otherwise.
I mean the song is absolutely spectacular but these animations work so perfectly they give such a amazing visualization, love your work

Ugh your use of poses and expressions and animation of the characters is so expressive and well characterized I’m in love with it
I like how the elements contrast their their personalities to some. . degree. Cold Miser is hyper when you'd expect her to be frigid or callous. Heat Miser is calmer (relatively) and laid-back despite being fiery. She is a little more sultry, though, so that kind of checks out.

It's been well over 20+ years since I was introduced to this old classic thanks to that magnificent christmas film that is "A Year without a Santa Claus". These characters stood out to me, their songs becoming my favorite and I always loved the concept. (It's also a reason why I love Adventure Time's Ice King & the Flame Kingdom)
It's been about 10-15 years since I added yet another project to my list, which was a new/adapted/cover version of this classic series of scenes featuring them.
However, seeing this now, I am going to put the idea to bed. You have outdone and met the expectations I had set for myself, and I didn't even commission you for this. So thank you for checking part of my bucket list off.

I literally shivered here! Excitement ran wild. Everything, *EVERYTHING* is very detailed: the expressions, the animation itself, the creativity and the work placed here as well. While Snow Miser gave me Spinel vibes, Heat Miser gave me that mature character vibe, but at the same time she wasn't as cold as I thought she would be (smiling more in the animation).

Well, can't say how happy I am to have found this. I mean, what can I say that hasn't probably been said already? The designs? Lovely. The voices? Lovely. The actual movements of the characters? The animation of heat misers hair is so fluid! I really love the engery difference between the two misers as well- cold is more childlike and energetic, while heat is more languid and mature. You did a really awesome job!
