Love this thought. Literally makes me wanna give little forehead kisses to all the lovely creators who make such talented work when amplifying the whole 'madness' aspect of "Alice In Wonderland"??!!?! (>//
The way she turned everyone into twisted versions of themselves makes me wonder - how many of the other denizens of Wonderland were once perfectly normal people/creatures themselves, who found themselves in Wonderland and had their true selves locked away as these alternate versions of them were revealed?
I think maybe some of the main characters like the mad hatter, Is march hair, I'm the Queen of hearts are all born and pure blood of wonderland and have ancestors that have lived there for centuries but I feel like the twisted versions that we are seeing are based off of. The original storyboard versions of what alice in wonderland was going to be as a disney movie, Cause originally it wasn't going to be The fun and fancy free movie we saw. But instead a more nightmarish version of it.
I like how her hair bow looks like rabbit ears at the end - the rabbit unintentionally led her into Wonderland, and now Alice is the new rabbit, leading Wonderland back into the world she came from.
But Wonderland is a dream made up from Alice’s imagination. So technically wouldn’t it be Alice’s Villain Song? Either way I agree, this song slapped!❤️
Depends how you look at it. Is this Wonderland wearing her face, infecting her mind? Or was this darkness already existing in Alice, and Wonderland was the door to her newborn madness?
This is the first villian protagonist song that that the protagonist was not in control. The others had motives based on suffering and some won in the end. Alice was just hopelessly screwed lacking both control and a happy ending.
I guess it depends on which "Alice" you are talking about. Queen Alice, seems like she is perfectly in command. Poor innocent child Alice on the other hand? Well she's not around anymore now is she..?
eh this alice split personality story both alices are just as real as the other could say this alice snapped more than any other villian cause she litterally went insane
0:43 it's such a small detail but i just found it so cool at how the transparency of the hands and arms display her evil self instead of just being see-through
"if you found yourself in Wonderland then you'll find yourself in Wonderland" a quote from the original voice actor of Alice from Alice's wonderland Bakery. So this is what would happen if she didn't find herself in wonderland.
The thing that really stands out to me is the emphasis of Alice being a child in Mad Alice's temper tantrum on Mad Hatter's tea party table and how genuinely happy she seems when Wonderland breaks out into the real world. This isn't an evil Alice, this is a child acting childishly even as she goes mad.
@@DeCryptid23 Everyone forget about it because only the original Disney cartoon movie had her as a child, the others had her more as a teenager or adult
The Duchess of Diamonds 💍 💎 ♦️ The Queen of Spades ♠️ The Empress of Wonderland 💭 Give it up, for Queen Alice, The Neo Queen of Hearts👸 She’s got Britain 🇬🇧… in spades ♠️
I really think American McGee's take on Alice was far more influential than anybody really thought. Think about it, most(if not all) depictions were about just how nonsensical or odd the things in Wonderland were and how far a little girl's imagination. When Alice came out in 2000, I really feel like that marked how a change in Alice in Wonderland was viewed, more as a tale of mental instability or a fall into it, rather than a child's fantasy of the weird and wild.
I like this idea of Wonderland "consuming" Alice in a bad end for the story. Like the final scene is of another child who fallen down the rabbit hole coming across her to show how far she's fallen.
That's sort of the story of the song 'Alice Human Sacrifice', a series of 'Alices' coming into a Wonderland left more twisted by each of its predecessors.
I feel like Mad Alice treated his victims depending of how they treated her. People who were Useless/Rude to her got: Death (White Rabbit, The Flowers, Caterpilliar, Chesire(?), Cards) Queen Of Hearts: She wanted Alice's head, Alice took hers instead and left her alive to torture her. People who were nice to her (Her Parents, Mad Hatter and the Tea Party Guests): Corruted but, Alive and by her side for all eternity. While Mad Hatter gave her riddles he also gave her cake and tea. He was being nice in his own twisted way. And the tea party guests celebrated her Unbirthday. As weird as this might be, this was their own twisted way of showing kindness. And get this, in OG when Queen Of Hearts was about to say "Off with her head" Mad Hatter shows out of nowhere and makes her forget what she was about to say by giving her a cake. Only Mad Hatter could distract her from this. Not even the King was able to stop her further than he already had. And when Alice was trying to flee Mad Hatter puts her into a teacup, and the teacup teleports Alice almost near the exit of Wonderland. And in the next scene Mad Hatter is chasing her to prevent Queen of Hearts from knowing he was trying to help Alice. He is playing for both sides, but he was secretly trying to help Alice.
The fact that all the childish wonder she had shifted into grotesque monsters all because she was frustrated and confused by the world and how that directly turned to her being turned to a twisted version of herself and all the hand imagery is just OOOOOHHH SO GOOOD!!! She stayed in wonderland so long she became a wonderland creature herself. Edit: TYSM FOR THE LIKES AAHHHHH
…..so…it’s always the same dream, whenever she went to sleep…..no wonder she grew frustrated Soon, she wouldn’t be able to discern reality from her dreams… …now her sanity is being hunted down, like a little rabbit…
@@davidcocerez7328Meg kinda became a deity and repunzel is has healing and decay abilities while wonderland is a figment of her dreams but if they entered it then she could hypothetically puppeteer them and corrupt them
I think the song is alluding to that she herself went mad, and not in the level surface of it. One of the first things we hear is "We're all mad here" which then makes the "You're one of us now" of Wonderland Alice seem like it has a far darker connotation.
Which also makes more sense when you see that in some shots, you see the eyes of regular Alice turn blue, and the fact many of the wonderlanders in the video also have blue eyes
Also also, the fact that it IS Alice split in two, for one detail as well, the tights/stockings both have If you pay close attention, Mad Alice's stockings are black, meanwhile Normal Alice's are White But when you see what I want to call True Mad Alice's stockings, they're both white and black
During the "we're all mad here" you see Alice's eyes go blue. 0:14 And at 0:25 it happens again, her eyes transition to blue as her face gets more wary. Then at 0:33 it's her reflection that has the blue eyes instead of her, like she's dissociating or something. On 0:42 there is the line "clinging to sanity, or embrace the fantasy !" you see the mad Alice when looking at her face through the blue limbs. After that Alice has 2 bodies. Or well, her sanity the innocent one whose threads of thoughts which are fading, and the madness in control of her body. Wouldn't be surprised if they frequently swapping till the end where they're merged.
@@Utrilus it does seem like it, especially at the end when it's revealed that she was the one that killed the rabbit After all, this is Alice's Villain Song, not Wonderland's Villain Song
I find it interesting, looking at the final frames (which are easily missed by the pace of the song), that the "Mad" Alice killed rather than corrupted the Cheshire Cat, the Caterpillar, and the White Rabbit. They are the only true "helpers" of Alice in the original story (not including the movie).
It almost feels like Wonderland isn't just a dream, it's Alice's mental state put into a landscape and it's denizens aspects of who Alice is; the Mad Hatter and March Hare are combinations of Alice being a kid, imaginative, inventive and that part of being a kid who changes mood and rules on a dime for some twisted sense of being right, the Dodo is Alice's sense of being an important center of the world leader despite not knowing what she's doing, the Queen of Hearts is her inner sadistic side and temper, the flowers are her whimsy and ego, the caterpillar her snobbiness and self importance and the White Rabbit is maybe a mix of her hope and innocence, which makes its death at Mad Alice's hands all the more darker if you look at it that way
I definitely didn't 😮, that's actually a pretty great observation, but it makes me wonder what part of Alice does the Cheshire Cat represent?since he was always lurking around and only appearing when it was convenient to offer some guidance before disappearing again,he was pretty much the only one who atleast somewhat listened to Alice
@davidvaldezjr5546 I believe him to be Alice's humor, knowledge, and maturity. For starters the cats knowledge of things seems to go much deeper then most of the others with maybe only the caterpillar being more so. His gives off the air of jokester, a prankster. Because Alice is still a child, whose maturity can vanish and appear at random and becomes more consistent as she ages. The way he talks makes it sound like Alice knows things but doesn't quite articulate it yet, hence the cryptic and funny ways the cat says things.
Another interpretation could be the denizens of Wonderland to a degree represent her view of the world around her. I can absolutely see the caterpillar being how Alice views her possible Opium or tobacco smoking grandparent. The Red Queen may be her view of Queen Victoria, the mad hatter and march hare likely how she views members of the servant staff that have been told to keep her entertained, and so on.
I love the part. "I only paint in red now." it really shows how Alice is turning into a monster similer to the queen of hearts! I also really liked the part with the parents, it makes you think is she really in wonderland or is it all in her head
I love the that last image of Alice looking at how Wonderland is consuming London, making you wonder if that is just what Alice sees in her madness, or if she didnt just lost her head, but did find SOMETHING in "Wonderland" that let her bring it to the real world.
It's like a shoutout to what happened in Alice: Madness Returns. After Alice confronted the root of her family's tragedy, the world of Wonderland began to bled into London.
"I'll embrace this Wonderland Crown. I only paint in Red now." Has no right to go so hard. Also, I love the little detail of Villain Alice's bow getting more pointed like a rabbit or devil's horns. Reminds me of Darla Dimple.
Everyone is saying it’s scary because it’s a dream that made her crazy, but considering that the description says wonderland is a living, breathing, corrupting thing, I like to think that this version of wonderland is very real, and at the end it’s basically using Alice to invade and corrupt the real world as well. It makes the ending a lot more fun and dark than “oh she just went crazy”. Either way though, the song is absolutely fantastic!
If that's the case then it's similar to Zenescope's long-running Wonderland comic franchise, where Alice Liddell was physically transported to a twisted dimension during her childhood and unintentionally brought Earth's existence to the attention of the Jabberwocky, who was then determined to invade the 'real' world by subtly allowing Wonderland's madness to seep through over the decades, infecting numerous humans along the way.
That was the vibe o got as well! Wonderland perhaps being an almost predatory reality absorbing others into itself through people like Alice- perhaps the red queen was a similar kind of person from whatever world that nation used to be. 😳🤔
Interesting Detail: The Cheshire Cat remains unwarped. You never see Alice alter it in any way and it looks pretty much the same at 3:08 as it does at 0:20 (you can't see it's eyes, but I think that might just be because of the perspective, and even if - it would be a significantly lighter change than what happens to the other characters). It's also not among the characters that Alice attacks and destroys at the end. Now, this might just be a coincidence, but while the Disney version of the Cheshire Cat is rather rude, the version from the original book is the nicest and most helpful character in all of Wonderland; one of the few characters who DOESN'T offer riddles or threats, to the point where, during its second appearance, Alice is genuinely happy to see it again. So maybe the reason the Cheshire Cat escapes fairly unscathed is because Alice, even dark and insane, isn't frustrated with its behaviour.
Can we appreciate how a little girl has so much power that she not only brought beings from her imagination into our world, but she can also twist real people into fantasy characters.... And probably take the world, how do you fight logic with insanity? One just wonder...
@@piergiorgiosaurus Only way fire fighting fire doesn't cause bigger fire is *preventative* controlled burns to deprive wildfires of their fuel. Alice is already burning.
ommg wait what if the separation of both alices means that the evil one was the actual alice the whole time just hidden from the real world in "wonderland", and the whole time the innocent one was discovering her true hidden self in her mind , like with the definition "cute but deadly aspect", I mean the mad alice did technically save her innocent fragment but just loves the chase of tormenting her dispite the refusal of the truth. considering individuals especially creators(I should know bc I am one lol) can create worlds like this mentally and as time goes on and they go deeper, by the time they realize it especially with the innocent alice. they have become the physical manifestation of that "world" that was created and basically winds up losing the childlike wonder they acted as like how innocent alice was seen by her parents in the real world or even the wonderland locals before the truth was discovered and she is replaced by / has released the figment she created out of curiosity while in wonderland and she possibly attacked her parents as a result adding the Twisted wonderland aspect to it! after all everyone knows that "Curiosity killed the Cat" or in this case the "white Rabbit". also did anyone else notice Mad alices SANS SMIRK at 2:52 or is it just me-😅😭
At first I lowkey got confused at 2:54 but I came to the conclusion that Alice being trapped in a looking glass and wonderland Alice breaking the mirror and unleashing the chaos is the viewers perspective of alice’s mind. That she’s finally cracked, she’s finally lost the shred of sanity she had left and from Alice’s parents perspective they’re seeing alice having her mental breakdown and if listen u can hear alice laughing in the background.
Firstly, i have to say, i'm truly eating these incredible designs up. Secondly, it took a few watches because the song's so fast-paced, but here's what i got for it: (Warning, spoilers) - - - - - Alice, done with how unhelpful Wonderland's denizens are, finally snaps, harming them all. Everything we see Mad Alice do is actually what the actual Alice did. The first time we see Mad Alice, it's a reflection in the water. this is when Alice drowned the Cheshire Cat. then, we see the white rabbit look scared of Alice. the next time we see him, he's dead. we know that Alice snapped his neck. The first time we see Mad Alice interact with Alice, she's standing over the dead White Rabbit. We never see what she did to the Mad Hatter, March Hare, or Queen of hearts, but we can assume she stabbed the Hatter in the back, and cut the Queen of Heart's head off ( couldn't think of what she might have done to the March Hare). She massacred the card soldiers, and we see that she also crushed the Blue Caterpillar with a rock, and ripped up the talking flowers. Then, we can assert that the sane Alice being trapped in the mirror is the indicator that Alice has truly gone mad in the real world. Turning her parents into chess pieces is probably just how Alice sees killing her parents. and finally, similar to Alice: Madness returns, that game from 2011, Alice sees London and Wonderland merged, which here means that she's definitely snapped and gone do-lally.
One could argue that she murdered her parents by seperating their arms. However none of this explanation really explains the corrupted versions of the Wonderland Denizens. I mean the March Hare reacted to the corrupted Mad Hatter.
A lot of the great references to "Through the Looking Glass" in the video. Alice becoming a queen by making it to the 8th position, and taking down the Red Queen. The more you run, the slower you go, and that walking away from something takes you toward it. Bravo and fantastic song.
Did anyone else notice how in Wonder land Wonderland Alice and Otherworld Alice have several differences to their outfits and even appearances? Its best shown in 2:27 when their side by side with all differences evident, but here are some examples. -Otherworld Alice, (Aka our Alice) has frills at the bottom of her dress while Wonderland Alice (Aka Evil Alice) has none. Frills on outfits like dresses are often associated with a childlike innocence, or purity so this is important! (It’s gonna come up later in this rant I swear) -It’s not visible in the timestamp given but in the mirror scene near the end you can see that Otherworld Alice’s ribbons (?) on her headband look like, well, ribbons! Mirroring the look of a hamsters ears, (a small, weak, pray animal) with their relatively short stature and sideways leaning posture. While Wonderland Alice’s ribbons (?) look nothing like ribbons, instead appearing as nearly demonic looking horns, or more importantly, a rabbits long upwards facing ears. With rabbits being the metaphorical face of Wonderland as a whole, and with ONLY Wonderland Alice have this feature added to her, the picture painted is clear as day, only one of them has excepted Wonderland as part of themselves, so only one shares it’s defining feature. -Otherworld Alice’s hair is fluffy, rounded, and has an almost bouncy feel to it, HER side-swings, (the little parts of their hair that flop to the side and swing next to their heads) look like they could belong to a plush of some sort, her bangs are swept to the sides with a gentle push, and a puff of hair can be seen poking out from them. While Wonderland Alice’s hair is sharp and angular, the side swings on her nearly looking like they’re made of spider silk, this carrying over to her bangs, which look like they’re splitting coming apart after years of being forced together by something like to much glue. Her little piece of outstanding hair is thin and it looks like it’s about to crumble and fall off her head. The top half of Otherworld Alice’s dress has multiple differences from Wonderland Alice’s dress so let’s in go up and down order when discussing it. - Otherworld Alice’s dress has a folding collar on it that serves to complement the buckle holding the apron on her dress in place, Wonderland Alice’s dress noticeably lacks this collar, along with the buckles on the apron, which are instead replaced with an open neck and bands to hold up the apron. -Otherworld Alice’s bow has short ribbons coming from it, while Wonderland Alice’s bow has long and spindly ribbons coming from it -And lastly Otherworld Alice has stockings (i think) with those old timey rounded buckle shoes, while Wonderland Alice has no stockings (I think) and long boots AND NOW ONTO THE POINT OF THIS STUPID RANT! *Ahem* When “Wonderland Alice”, (who will from this point onwards be referred to as Borderland Alice because by all definition she is now the borderline between Wonderland and the real world) enters the real world, she shares the traits of Both her Wonderland self, and her Otherworld self, with Otherworld Alice’s traits being dominant because this is only Wonderland’s insanity inside her body. This can be seen in her hair, which is now with one single silky strand, the rest being Otherworld Alice’s fluffy locks. Borderline Alice’s dress has a collar, but shares Wonderland Alice’s straps in place of buckles. She now has double layered sleeves, along with her hair belonging to Otherworld Alice despite being slightly more droopy in volume. Her bow is now longer, thinner, and more sightly, she has striped stockings, and she still has her buckle shoes. Now onto the important bits, but first I need you to know that this hypothesis is operating under the belief that in this song Wonderland is a real separate dimension from our world and that Alice is still her normal self, Aka Otherworld Alice, as we’ve been referring to her as, just driven mad by Wonderlands insanity, leading her to become, as stated in the song, one with Wonderland. Now that this has been stated, I feel it appropriate to continue, with this all in mind I believe that the Alice we see in the end of the song is still our Alice, but after she has accepted Wonderland. You can see that the frills we mentioned earlier, representing innocence and purity, have become tainted by Alice’s insanity, representing her now twisted childlike wonder at the insanity that drove her to this state. And last but DEFINITELY not least, the ribbons on headband have now also shifted to a rabbit ear like shape, signifying her changes in perspective when it comes to wonderland, as she has now accepted it as a part of her, no different from her lungs or her head.
"You're one of us now" "I'm part of Wonderland now!" God what if all the people were once in the same situation as Alice before losing their minds becoming apart of Wonderland permanently?

I think that's the premise of 'Alice Human Sacrifice', IIRC. Go listen to it, it slaps. Most people swear by either the OG or the Razzy and Co. cover, but I'd personally recommend either the RafScrap or Raon version.
I thought this was gonna be a twist on "painting the roses red" or "i'm odd" but this song and sequence is absolutely amazing. I want to see this as an actual story.
I've been curious how a villain song for Alice would go. I had imagined it would indeed stem from her meeting the unhelpful or hostile denizens of Wonderland on her simple quest to just go home, until she slowly but surely gives in to the madness that surrounds her. And the fact that everything is a dream (or is it...?) means she can manipulate everything as she sees fit, a personal land of madness to rule over and call her very own. Her own Wonderland.
personally i took the evil alice in darker blue being wonderland itself. unveiling it's cutesy facade to reveal what it truly is - a labyrinth, trapping alice within her own mind until she breaks the world or breaks herself.
@@gardenagnostic It seemed to me that the darker Alice is the part of her succumbing to madness while the other is trying her best to keep her sanity...until the madness overcomes her.
Even the sanest people in the world can eventually succumb to madness. And Alice is most certainly no exception. "I'll embrace this Wonderland Crown. I only paint in Red now."- Best line ever!
I have to say this is a great song and this artist was definitely the right choice for this animatic. They absolutely nailed it. I love how when Alice is first running from her doppelgänger (let’s call her Malice) she’s sprinting as fast as possible, while Malice seems to just be skipping. The other details like Malice’s headband looking like bunny ears and her striped tights only showing up at the end really add to the look. Definitely one of my favourites
Oh my stars, Wonderland corrupts Alice and then she corrupts Wonderland, that's so well done. I like where it ends, cause I can kinda imagine the real Alice breaking free and stopping her reflection eventually. Absolutely epic.
@@sammcgowan3954 Nope, the Queen of Hearts is the one who cuts people’s heads, the Red Queen is the red chess piece who helps Alice in “Through the Looking Glass” 😊
I love how everything starts to become twisted in her view, and she sees things that her parents probably can't see, because they don't know what Wonderland is. Edit: She also has grasp of sanity in the song until it ends, where she becomes the _true_ villain when, in the beginning, it was her insanity that was the villain. Now she *_is_* the insanity.
3:00 i noticed something in this part of the song, i know many ppl could see it before this part, but I’d like to point this out- Evil Alice’s headband looks a lot like rabbit ears
It's the art style they used Fall Little Wendy Bird Fall. I think they did that on purpose because of the theory of Darling related to Alice's family as Alice and Wendy shared same character design, voice actress and thing for ending up in fantasy land.
That's because it's the same artist! The name's "lazy eule", you should totally go to their channel, they make OC animatic/animations and the lore it's really interesting, plus it's really well done
I love the idea of Wonderland infecting Alice with madness and slowly splitting her mentally or possibly both mentally and physically, making two distinct Alices'. The Alice who is sane and dearly wants to return home, and the Mad Alice who's fully embraced the madness and apparently the magic of Wonderland. The Mad Alice clearly has so much magic from Wonderland that she can warp even the already mad denizens, steal Alice's place, and finally warp the real world into Londerland. Londerland being a location from Alice the Madness Returns as the final location after you complete the main story.
The art style really is amazing at this, perfectly capturing how Alice is just a child, whether a scared one who wants to go home or one who's lost their sanity and has the powers to do whatever her heart desires.
I have other view of this: Wonderland splitted Alice's mind in half and created a mad version of herself. Alice's "Wonderland" version was already insane cause of she could see only mad part of things, but with normal Alice, who spent so much time in Wonderland, she got enough power to take control of all this stuff and turn everything in it's mad version, so she won't be the only one who is mad.
Our world is one of logic, one of order. Everything makes sense, everything has rules, even if we don't understand them. Wonderland has none. It's consistently inconsistent. It's a world of chaos where dream logic is more powerful than actual logic. Alice is not equipped to survive the rigors of being trapped in a dimension of mad chaos. Because she's a CHILD. She doesn't deserve to be trapped in a mirror, but, she also didn't realize that a dream and a wish for something exciting, something every child has expressed at some point, would lead to THIS. Children feel everything powerfully. When they're happy, they're jubilant. When they're angry, they're furious. Wonderland was never meant to truly be ANYTHING more than just a realm of chaos and dreams. Some people stumble into it via their dreams, but they find their way out. But not Alice Liddell. 10 year old Alice Liddell couldn't handle it. Be it because of fate, or because of pure misfortune, Wonderland was able to sink its thorny vines into her. And all that's left is Alice The Mad Queen, ironically, the most dangerous thing to both our world and Wonderland. She wants to make everything the same. She wants everything to be a grotesque and twisted flavor of chaotic. Ironically, it would make it a world more boring than ours. Because when EVERYTHING is strange, nothing is.
@@jonnythunder6083 You flatter me. But, I am not. I just have an imagination I enjoy indulging, and Lydia's voice coupled with the spectacular art helps provide the 'spark' I need to just let my imagination run free.
Oh neat to see someone using the name of the actual girl the story was written for! Alice Liddell... no relation to Samuel Liddell, but for those who have an understanding of the sephirot... Alice in Wonderland takes on a whole new meaning... alledgedly
That last part, when you mentioned the grotesque and twisted flavor of chaotic, it made me think of American Mcgee's Alice in Wonderland. That game was dark in its own right!
They do have very different themes, but I assume it may be because of the Alice in Wonderland but evil inspiration of both? And also maybe the fact they're both songs. Edit: One of the Alices says I only paint in red now in human sacrifice so I assume that too? Overall it is clear this was based off of human sacrifice.
Yk when I first saw that Alice was gonna be the villain this week, I thought it was gonna be about her taking over Wonderland after dealing with bs riddles back and forth and losing her mother loving mind. But I had no idea it would turn into her having a split personality or just an overall battle with herself to not give into madness-of course until she couldn’t fight anymore. And this all being a figment of her imagination makes it ten times worse 😭 she kinda just lost self control A WHILE ago and by the time she tried to regain control then realized it was too late to turn back I OOVE THISSS this is so peak
Probably the Disney princesses with the most potential for a dark version given the original is all about Alice trying not to lose her mind amid the insanity of Wonderland. The fact Wonderland is a dream/in her mind offers so much you can do with the idea of a mind slowly losing its sanity.
Well, that's the most common interpretation of the story, but that is itself more of a dark version adults have given the story than anything. It's about a child's imagination and how children see the world. The reason why everyone is "mad" is because a child's brain works differently to an adult's and when someone is so vastly different from you, you may think they're weird or "crazy." All of the strange, changing rules in Wonderland are due to a similar reason. To a child, they don't have the knowledge as to why a rule is there and a lot of adults just say "Don't question me and just do as you're told" instead of giving an actual explanation, and they seem to always change because rule's constantly change depending on where you are. You can yell and run around outside but you have to be quiet and stay still inside or you can eat this type of food at this time but you can't eat it any other time, and that's not even mentioning when there are exceptions to the rules or only certain people can break them without consequence. And she keeps changing sizes because kids are constantly growing and that can feel weird or sudden, especially if they hit a sudden growth spurt or something.
@@huangxinyuealyssahpps395 That's literally the point of the book though... Do you really think Lewis Carroll was writing psychological horror stories for kids? The book literally ends with Alice's older sister thinking about how lively a child's imagination is and how they see the world because of it. Edit: Also how is "It's supposed to represent how children see the world." reading too much into it but, "This children's book is actually about a little girl who falls asleep and randomly gets teleported to another dimension where everyone is crazy and she has to try to make it out alive while keeping her sanity Intact." isn't?
If you want a dark version of Alice in Wonderland, I’d suggest checking out American Mcgee’s Alice in Wonderland. Wonderfully dark, twisted, and a heavy focus on sanity and mental issues of ‘Alice’
I love the song, it's another way to see wonderland, but I feel sorry for Alice. She was just an innocent girl, but now she's trapped in her own dreams and can't be sure what is real and what is not...
"And with that, All Hearts of Light have fallen to Darkness. Well....All but One." Just an observation that you've done a Villain song for every princess (or Princess of Heart) that has shown up in Kingdom Hearts. Impressive, every one.
@@tectoniclion3959 Well... I always thought they do look kinda villainous in one of the official arts, with Sora on the throne wearing Mickey's crown...
I can't stop thinking of this song in the context of Twisted Wonderland, specifically Riddle Roseheart. To summarize, which will contain spoilers to the first chapter (you've been warned): Riddle is the head form of Heartslabyul, which is based on the Red Queen/Alice and Wonderland. He is very by the books and anyone in his dorm must follow all 810 rules or "Off with your head". In the story when people in his dorm, fellow classmates starts disobeying his rules he begins to get mad, angry and shouts at the other characters and mc. He uses his magic to the point of "Overblotting" which essentially means he loses control, turns evil and takes on a form similar to that of the Red Queen. In the story he basically loses his sanity until defeated. So this song kind of reminds me of him a bit similarly. Not 100%, but I could see it being used to represent him in how he loses his sanity.
I love the colors in this one! Both Alice's crazy eyes and the hands are blue, and Alice's eyes only turned blue when the insanity took over. Alice's insane side is colored like her shadow, and tends to appear either from shadow or behind something. Then, except for Alice herself, everything connected to Wonderland is darker than its surroundings. When she thinks of her mother and father, they are lighter than their surroundings, at least slightly. But once she gets through the door and is fully crazy, they follow the wonderland coloration- darker than surroundings.
This was even better than I expected! I love how it told two stories, one where Alice wants to break free, and the other where Alice just gives in to insanity and turns people into her personal pawns in possibly the darkest villain persona we've seen yet!
One of the things I loved most about this incredible song is that you didn't get the Disney characters, which impressed me since your songs are focused on the stories of that company. The designs are completely original and that made me extremely happy, only the rabbit looks like his Disney counterpart.
One detail I love about the animation is how, while Alice Liddel herself is shown running from her darker half, Mad Alice never runs... she's aways either skipping or walking, calm, smiling... she doesn't need to run *she's already there* (edit) oh shit, we get small clips at the end showing how she killed each of the off-screened wonderland creatures Drowned cat crushed worm Shredded flowers choked rabbit (edit 2) Another detail I love... how even at the beginning, you see her eyes go from wide eyed lilac, curious and full of light, to a grim, exhasperated lavender, filled with bitterness and anger. (edit 3) Also what is with the way she's drawn at the end there along with the lyric "I'm a part of wonderland now" that makes her look like a proper child there? Is it the cheeks? the plump cheeks that make you want to tug and pinch that little face of hers? she's psychotic but you really wanna dote and protect her with that... fing adorable... pinch those... chubby baby cheeks. *That girl needs serious therapy*

I feel that the detail of Alice pushing open the door back to her house and the wonderland citizens just breaking through that picture of Alice with her parents, is very cool
"You're one of us now" is the part that really gets me. It just serves as a constant reminder to Alice that she has no chance of escape here. The detail where she turns her parents into chess-like pieces/statues was really dark for me. Great job❤❤

that was horrifying. it feels like the eldritch horrors are the real Wonderland in the worst way. All the broken mirror shots were so good and when Wonderland Alice comes out it reminds me of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Just to make sure... by Dr. J and Mr. H you're referring to the fact that Alice completely let go of her inhibitions and emrbaced her insanity, not that she has a split personality.
I love how its not even Alice who turns evil, its just her dark thoughts and anxieties and her insanity turning real and taking over wonderlands magic and bending it to its will.
The part where Alice’s parents realized that Alice wasn’t herself anymore while the good alice is forever trapped in the looking glass and it was the evil and insane alice that escaped made my eyes widened in surprise!😳 and I love that the evil Alice’s hands represents her insanity and starting to transform everyone into monsters and other creatures!😍🤯 also love this art style it’s so adorable and cute and it really fits this song besides this vid being terrifying but awesome!🤣👏🏼😍 this is officially my favorite Disney villains song!❤️😆 really excited to see you come back with my favorite series of all times can’t wait to see more of them!👏🏼❤️

I loved this!! I think this is a very interesting idea for Alice A darker version appearing in the wonderland while trapping Alice in the looking glass with her parents now the chess pieces And with the chaos of wonderland infecting the real world I love how somehow Alice somehow corrupts the denizens of wonderland and their appearances gets twisted Especially the queen of hearts being a rose monster with no head love that so much!!
Her ability to twist everyone into warped versions of themselves raises a question: were others in Wonderland once ordinary beings too, with their real selves buried beneath these distorted personas?
I love the movement in this animatic man!! Like how the hatter contorts in physically impossible ways before he transforms, how Alice kicks everything off the table, god THE BIG ARMS IN GENERAL
The tiny details like characters having 3 fingers (+ thumb) and the fact that the queen of hearts gets the hand through her neck as if she was beheaded is just so cool!

I feel like Mad Alice treated his victims depending of how they treated her.
People who were Useless/Rude to her got: Death (White Rabbit, The Flowers, Caterpilliar, Chesire(?), Cards)
Queen Of Hearts: She wanted Alice's head, Alice took hers instead and left her alive to torture her.

Also also, the fact that it IS Alice split in two, for one detail as well, the tights/stockings both have
If you pay close attention, Mad Alice's stockings are black, meanwhile Normal Alice's are White
But when you see what I want to call True Mad Alice's stockings, they're both white and black
During the "we're all mad here" you see Alice's eyes go blue. 0:14
And at 0:25 it happens again, her eyes transition to blue as her face gets more wary.

Well, they are quite rude with Alice in the story, so...
It almost feels like Wonderland isn't just a dream, it's Alice's mental state put into a landscape and it's denizens aspects of who Alice is; the Mad Hatter and March Hare are combinations of Alice being a kid, imaginative, inventive and that part of being a kid who changes mood and rules on a dime for some twisted sense of being right, the Dodo is Alice's sense of being an important center of the world leader despite not knowing what she's doing, the Queen of Hearts is her inner sadistic side and temper, the flowers are her whimsy and ego, the caterpillar her snobbiness and self importance and the White Rabbit is maybe a mix of her hope and innocence, which makes its death at Mad Alice's hands all the more darker if you look at it that way
I didn't until now.😨
I definitely didn't 😮, that's actually a pretty great observation, but it makes me wonder what part of Alice does the Cheshire Cat represent?since he was always lurking around and only appearing when it was convenient to offer some guidance before disappearing again,he was pretty much the only one who atleast somewhat listened to Alice
@@ishashifar Insanity?

I cannot get over how fluffy Alice's dress looks in this. It's an animatic, but the dress has such nice movement!
Actually at 3:17 Alice is seen drowning him.
Is no one talking about how the queen of hearts looks so much better?

ommg wait what if the separation of both alices means that the evil one was the actual alice the whole time just hidden from the real world in "wonderland", and the whole time the innocent one was discovering her true hidden self in her mind , like with the definition "cute but deadly aspect", I mean the mad alice did technically save her innocent fragment but just loves the chase of tormenting her dispite the refusal of the truth. considering individuals especially creators(I should know bc I am one lol) can create worlds like this mentally and as time goes on and they go deeper, by the time they realize it especially with the innocent alice. they have become the physical manifestation of that "world" that was created and basically winds up losing the childlike wonder they acted as like how innocent alice was seen by her parents in the real world or even the wonderland locals before the truth was discovered and she is replaced by / has released the figment she created out of curiosity while in wonderland and she possibly attacked her parents as a result adding the Twisted wonderland aspect to it! after all everyone knows that "Curiosity killed the Cat" or in this case the "white Rabbit". also did anyone else notice Mad alices SANS SMIRK at 2:52 or is it just me-😅😭
At first I lowkey got confused at 2:54 but I came to the conclusion that Alice being trapped in a looking glass and wonderland Alice breaking the mirror and unleashing the chaos is the viewers perspective of alice’s mind. That she’s finally cracked, she’s finally lost the shred of sanity she had left and from Alice’s parents perspective they’re seeing alice having her mental breakdown and if listen u can hear alice laughing in the background.
Firstly, i have to say, i'm truly eating these incredible designs up.
Secondly, it took a few watches because the song's so fast-paced, but here's what i got for it:
(Warning, spoilers)

Alice, done with how unhelpful Wonderland's denizens are, finally snaps, harming them all.
Thanks for explaining, because even with the description, I was still lost.
Makes sense 👍
Yes! I knew I wasn’t the one who was getting American Mcgee’s Alice vibes from the song alone!
One could argue that she murdered her parents by seperating their arms. However none of this explanation really explains the corrupted versions of the Wonderland Denizens. I mean the March Hare reacted to the corrupted Mad Hatter.
@@Lord-Regent-of-the-Imperium Or, they could be reacting to Alice harming them. you have to remember, it's from sane Alice's perspective
(It’s gonna come up later in this rant I swear)
-It’s not visible in the timestamp given but in the mirror scene near the end you can see that Otherworld Alice’s ribbons (?) on her headband look like, well, ribbons! With rabbits being the metaphorical face of Wonderland as a whole,
and with ONLY Wonderland Alice have this feature added to her, the picture painted is clear as day, only one of them has excepted Wonderland as part of themselves, so only one shares it’s defining feature.
-Otherworld Alice’s hair is fluffy, rounded, and has an almost bouncy feel to it, HER side-swings,
(the little parts of their hair that flop to the side and swing next to their heads) look like they could belong to a plush of some sort, her bangs are swept to the sides with a gentle push, and a puff of hair can be seen poking out from them.
-Otherworld Alice’s bow has short ribbons coming from it, while Wonderland Alice’s bow has long and spindly ribbons coming from it
-And lastly Otherworld Alice has stockings (i think) with those old timey rounded buckle shoes, while Wonderland Alice has no stockings
(I think) and long boots
AND NOW ONTO THE POINT OF THIS STUPID RANT! *Ahem*
When “Wonderland Alice”, (who will from this point onwards be referred to as Borderland Alice because by all definition she is now the borderline between Wonderland and the real world) enters the real world, she shares the traits of Both her Wonderland self, and her Otherworld self, with Otherworld Alice’s traits being dominant because this is only Wonderland’s insanity inside her body.

I have to say this is a great song and this artist was definitely the right choice for this animatic. They absolutely nailed it. Can we stop to appreciate how cute the art style is? Like even if she's evil she is still cute!
It's the art style they used Fall Little Wendy Bird Fall. I think they did that on purpose because of the theory of Darling related to Alice's family as Alice and Wendy shared same character design, voice actress and thing for ending up in fantasy land.

I absolutely love their art style!
Ok but evil Alice being less fluffy and more sharp than our beloved original Alice is so cool
And she's a mix at the end
@@twist_ending7545mhm!! I love this song and the art so much
The art style really is amazing at this, perfectly capturing how Alice is just a child, whether a scared one who wants to go home or one who's lost their sanity and has the powers to do whatever her heart desires.
I have other view of this:
Wonderland splitted Alice's mind in half and created a mad version of herself. Alice's "Wonderland" version was already insane cause of she could see only mad part of things, but with normal Alice, who spent so much time in Wonderland, she got enough power to take control of all this stuff and turn everything in it's mad version, so she won't be the only one who is mad.
the description implies their was never really 2 of her rather a split personality with the maddness slowly taking over
@@apirlfools yea already knew it. Also never said that the mad one got a physical body.
3:09 "I'm part of Wonderland now!" Love that part
Are you a therapist? Because you seem to know it's deep meaning. 🙂🙂🙂

2:07 OFF with her head
Yk when I first saw that Alice was gonna be the villain this week, I thought it was gonna be about her taking over Wonderland after dealing with bs riddles back and forth and losing her mother loving mind. But I had no idea it would turn into her having a split personality or just an overall battle with herself to not give into madness-of course until she couldn’t fight anymore.
And this all being a figment of her imagination makes it ten times worse 😭 she kinda just lost self control A WHILE ago and by the time she tried to regain control then realized it was too late to turn back I OOVE THISSS this is so peak
🎉😢
@@noonespecial7730 i think you're reading too much into it.

I can't stop thinking of this song in the context of Twisted Wonderland, specifically Riddle Roseheart. To summarize, which will contain spoilers to the first chapter (you've been warned):
Riddle is the head form of Heartslabyul, which is based on the Red Queen/Alice and Wonderland.

The part where Alice’s parents realized that Alice wasn’t herself anymore while the good alice is forever trapped in the looking glass and it was the evil and insane alice that escaped made my eyes widened in surprise!😳 and I love that the evil Alice’s hands represents her insanity and starting to transform everyone into monsters and other creatures!😍🤯 also love this art style it’s so adorable and cute and it really fits this song besides this vid being terrifying but awesome!🤣👏🏼😍 this is officially my favorite Disney villains song!❤️😆 really excited to see you come back with my favorite series of all times can’t wait to see more of them!👏🏼❤️
I love how in the final when she gets mad her socks are black and wihte bc they are in a same body and you can see it bc in other shots we saw that the "innocent" one has wihte socks while the mad ones are black, also I love how in the final we have some frames were the mad one looks so innocent and happy while the madness invades, she looks so cheerfull and I love it

Holy... That so well made, I wish there a part two or a whole damn story with it and all the others villainous adaptation. Because there so much to do with stories, lore (and obviously songs) with!
so right off the bat I love the design of alice with the giant bow on the back of the dress, how you really sold the fact that, at least according to the original story, Alice is only around *seven* when the first book happens
Lyrics:
Welcome to Wonderland,
Come in have no fear
You're one of us now
We're all mad here
A lost girl inside a maze
She asks for help
but receives riddles receives threats
Lost for days, remains unfazed
I play your game and either way I lost my head
Two truths and one lie the time flies as madness descends
what begins and what ends
Who am I, who are you
what's a lie what is true?
How do you find a way out
when what's left appears right and what's right always wrong
clinging to sanity, or embrace the fantasy?
You seem to walk for miles
Met with feline smiles
As grins begin to turn to scowls
You're one of us now
Crimson red hearts
stone from the start
betcha their beating now
Hatters and cards, yeah I'll tear them apart
cos the fire needs feeding now
Send kind regards
Drop the facade
Everyone hear my vow
I'll embrace this wonderland crown
I only paint in red now
Wailing and tears
Sweet music I hear
Sweat beading on your brow
Now would you deny me my right to reply
You see I'm not done speaking so let's see you bow
No way out in sight
So try as I might
I'm giving up oh
I'll embrace the wonderland crown
I only paint in red now
Looking in the looking glass
(I trip, I fall
from big to small
I just want home
it's not my fault!)
Chasing time it moves so fast
(you sip you smile
Stay for a while
Put down your mind
And join the wild)
My threads of thought are fading
Impulsive webs invading
Wonderland words coming out of my mouth
You're one of us now
Crimson red hearts
stone from the start
betcha their beating now
Hatters and cards, yeah I'll tear them apart
cos the fire needs feeding now
Send kind regards
Drop the facade
Everyone hear my vow
I'll embrace this wonderland crown
I only paint in red now
Wailing and tears
Sweet music I hear
Sweat beading on your brow
Now would you deny me my right to reply
You see I'm not done speaking so let's see you bow
No way out in sight
So try as I might
I'm giving up oh
I'll embrace this wonderland crown
I only paint in red now
I'll speak in rhyme if riddles you seek
I'll give you riddles, recite them for free
Are you scared of me?
Are you scared of me?
The clocks run out too late to wake up
You're locked under this nightmare's thumb
begging you hide and run
What have i become?
Alice sweetheart it's time for tea
Alice?
Alice?
Alice!
Crimson red hearts
stone from the start
betcha their beating now
Can someone please show me the way out
I'm not too sure who I am or how
I'm part of wonderland now
Chasing down sanity till I drop
Mind runs away and it just won't stop
Please I am begging you just let me out
I only paint in red now
END
You are my savior !
Holy frick, this song and animatic are so awesome Im going to lose my mind. Right from the beginning you are transported into this world and I would never want to leave. This song really occupies my thoughs (and I almost wish this was its own movie) Great job guys! thank you for bringing me into this wonderland.❤
"I'll embrace this Wonderland Crown. I only paint in Red now." has been stuck in my head and its not even been an hour! It goes so hard! And the art is so awesome and I love the creepy elements!
I loved this!! I think this is a very interesting idea for Alice
A darker version appearing in the wonderland while trapping Alice in the looking glass with her parents now the chess pieces
And with the chaos of wonderland infecting the real world
I love how somehow Alice somehow corrupts the denizens of wonderland and their appearances gets twisted
Especially the queen of hearts being a rose monster with no head
love that so much!!
In one shot it looks likes the queen has a rose for a head.
I. AM. OBSESSED. WITH. THIS. MUSIC. VIDEO. I literally lost count on how many times I heard this song 😅😅😅
1:54 THIS PART REMINDED ME OF THAT ONE BEAT IN ‘don’t cry for your daughters eve’ WHERE IT SAYS SOME LINES LIKE “the court has gathered (smth smth), the jury knows, gods not gonna help you now my girl, so save your prayers.. legions of daughters those who you caught for happily curse your name now” AND I LOVE IT

Gathered down low I think
1: I love the artstyle, it's the same as for the Tinkerbell Song, great work of the artist!
2: I also love the way you sang certain lines, like "you're one of us now" or the chorus, it sounds actually insane and it's great
