Much appreciated 👍 I try to mix it up depending on if it's pretty straightforward, I'll be quiet, if there are some tips and tricks, I'd rather talk. I think I'm going to be making a brake and rotor video replacement for this Accord soon stay tuned
Interesting channel, just keep up the good work. It would be very interesting and educational to see on this type of PCV valve, valve covers the vacuum flow channels cut open from the crankcase hose entrance to the PCV valve housing toward the Intake manifold exit including the PVC valve cut open.
Geez!!!! Hopefully you found this video useful Edward, the dealership will always find a way to make a fast dollar unfortunately. Be sure to follow my channel if you want to see more useful easy repairs on this Accord! Thanks again for commenting your experience
I noticed my daughter's 2017 CRV using oil. 40k on it. Was off lease car and did oil change at 4k miles with Mobil 1, but notice it's using oil. Will change this tomorrow. So don't go to 0w-30? Mobil 1? Just stay with the 0w-20?
Hey David 👋 This 2.4 earth dreams is a decent engine coming from someone that didn't know much the first 90,000 miles That said, between changing the PCV valve and checking your valve cover gasket, 0w-20 is a bit thinner of an oil, so consider changing when it gets to the 15% oil life to be proactive This engine is know to burn oil, but not to a drastic amount 👇👇👇 Check out my "Low oil" video on my channel, and just be proactive with the oil changes and everything should be good for easily another decade In some of my videos I point out the seepage coming out of the valve cover gasket which is another way oil levels lower with time I like to stick with what's recommended, and again, am an amateur, but I do know depending on your climate in your region, sometimes it makes sense to run a different viscosity I'm currently at 143k and no major issues, but it all comes with being proactive and noticing the little signs like low oil levels and being on top of maintenance
@@Striker50_ I had the dealer change the oil at 50 percent the first time and I did it again myself about 2k miles later with Mobil 1 since I got the oil free. I am not a big fan of these 0w-20 oils..especially in FL...think the EPA is really screwing the consumers and destroying car engines with that stuff...I looked all over the engine and see no leakers..spotless...really shocked it was using oil until I did some reading online and see other Honda owners complaining...too bad..had Hondas for years....Mobil 1 is cheap, about 12 dollars for a gallon at WM with the rebates so always changed the oil early in my cars....was hoping my daughter could get 200k plus miles out of this car..maybe that will happen..just have to make sure she checks the oil....Thank you!
There's no easy way to tell. If it's clogged or your car is burning oil those may be signs. Congrats on the new ride! This is more preventative maintenance so there's no set interval to change it. I'd imagine every 30k-60k is well within a proactive period 👌
It allows gases to be circulated and reburned. A bad PCV can lead to build up and sludge from ineffective combustion, for me this was a preventative measure, but if you can see my other videos, you'll notice I have a leaking valve cover gasket

I'm at about 127,000 miles & it will burn like 0.5Qt every 3,000 miles Usually when I have around 40% oil life left, I have to add another .5Qt to keep at a proper level.
Didn't hurt to get a new one for preventative maintenance; my valve cover gasket was already leaking and I have 130k miles, but that could be an option
@@Striker50_ i just bought a new one, but since he didn't reply. I would assume he would say clean it with brake cleaner and letting it dry for 30 mins.

You mean the Stealership?
That's not terrible if they actually do what they're supposed to.
Appropriately named the stealership.

1 question,
What dose this pcv do in the car ? What's the function of it ??
Please let me know. Thanks

Can this lead to high oil consumption in Hondas?
@@LRuizPinedayes and burning oil
I have a problem it won’t come out ? The ten mill just spins !?? Anything on that ?
Have you tried using a. magnet to see if it comes out, or trying to pop out the whole PCV valve with the flathead like I did?
How often you should replace it like how many miles
It's preventative maintenance, so there really is no set time. My amateur opinion would be 60k-100k
Hey, When do you need to change this?
@@takishabaker7520 It's more of a preventative measure item so you do not necessarily have to change it if that helps

i had oil leaking at front, is it pcv problem? what can I do ?

Do you know what is the torque tightening for it?
In reference to the bolt?
Just snug because it's plastic. Tighten it, but don't break it.
7 lbs-ft
the mfer did not oil the rings up😢😮
Which rings are you referencing?
Could Honda have made it any more difficult to replace? It’s in such a cramped space.
