    Amazing because, true story, I just woke up this morning wondering why I couldn’t use dip base instead of gel base/polygel that I usually do and I found your vid. So cool! 🕶 Also just a tip for anyone interested: instead of manually etching the inside of my tips, I’ve always used primer to chemically etch. Faster for me and I haven’t lost a tip yet. 😅 Thx again so much for sharing this technique! 👍🏽🥰

    This is a huge help. I didn't know that I could use dip base to secure full coverage tips. And etching the tips will definitely save my nails. Thx for the info.

    Thank you!! This post was so timely - my fingers are currently healing from a terrible gel allergy. Had to trim my poor nails down to little nubs☹. New to the nail game and didn't know I could apply tips with my dip base. Gonna have to try this 'cause I'm dying for a little length and color!

      so if you have a gel nail allergy can you still use gel x tips

    This was super helpful. I was doing gel x nails for 6 months and all of a sudden my hands became itcy,blisters, skin peeling off,swollen, etc. I wasn't and still am not 100% sure if it was the UV lights bc I was changing them weekly (awful I know,but I loved changing it up) or the gel polishes themselves, but I was obviously allergic and kneels I couldn't do them that way. I still have tons of soft gel tips, I can use those to do this how you did right? I'd love to pick your brain haha. I have my first dip kit coming but applied my full tips with just nail glue. Next time I will try the base as my glue like you did. You've made my day with your video. Thanks!

    Beautiful! I'm going to try this method. I also have a gel allergy, and it's been heartbreaking to adjust to not having my nails done regularly. I didn't even consider that gelly tips would cause problems too *DUH*. My nails are extremely flat, so a lot of the full-cover nails don't work for me but I'm going to check out the ones you suggested.

    Brilliant video thank you. Iv'e gone through I don't know how many YT videos to find 1 with Acrylic dip powder. Iv'e just overnight developed the worse gel allergy ever. Itchy cuticles and fingers, inflamed and red cuticles, fingers peeling. So I'm going back to acrylic. Just a question do you use monomer at the end to harden the acrylic powder? If not what do you use? Thank you for sharing❤

    I've been doing this for a while now, and I love it!! It works so well, and lasts almost as long-- sometimes LONGER than the gel does!!... For me anyways😁💯... Thanks for showing others that this full cover nail tip hack truly DOES WORK!!!💯🔥🔥🔥❤

  • @Cornwall3
    @Cornwall3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    For people who can't use gel, you can use a bead of wet acrylic (with monomer). I prime the nail with acrylic primer and put a bead of acrylic on the nail and press the nail on and it does not come off until you soak it off like you would any acrylic nail.

    • @Cornwall3
      @Cornwall3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The other thing I forgot to mention is the acrylic also helps build up the underside if the nail has more of a curve to it and you have a flat nail so it fills in the apex area.

    Thank you for this! I've just recently developed a gel allergy I think(it's only a couple fingers) and to be honest I'm devastated. Builder gel had completely changed my nail game and now sadly changed it again for the worst. Just ordered some full cover tips so fingers crossed!

      I feel your pain. I was a lover of builder gel and gel. And for a good few years it’s all I used. I was really starting to branch out with length and designs (and even colors) shortly before the pandemic started. Unfortunately, around Memorial Day 2021, I became allergic to my gel products. I was CRUSHED. Because doing my nails was what I did for “me time” when my kids went to bed. I was always so careful with my application and what products I used and stuff, so I still do not know how I became allergic. It was hard for me to wrap my head around for a few months. Thankfully I already had some dip products so I was able to switch over immediately and was relieved that I can use dip. But I also can’t use any gelly tips either, which sucks because some of tips I had apparently have gel in them and I didn’t know until I found out the hard way recently. I will admit I’m still bummed some times that I can’t use gel because I can’t use chrome powders or do certain nail designs. But thankfully I found Jewlz channel shortly after becoming allergic and have been able to do fun nails again. It’s not exactly the same but it fills the voids. 😬

    So you found that with the gel tips, you get a reaction to them as well?! I just developed my allergy to gel nail products 😢, and purchased all the things I need to start dip manis. I plan to use tips, I guess until I don’t need to if my nail grows out better. :)
    I saw some tuts that show using glue (or what you did) on gel nail tips. Have you done that?
    Anyway, back to the gel tips, really?? That seems so crazy to me but, I believe it.

    Thank you so much for this video. I'm sooo tired of this allergic reactions 😢 Trying different "hema free products" and nothing works. I start with the allergic reaction on August 2023 and since then my nails are awful and I wonder if all this allergic chain reaction in so many ladies, is because this companies are competing to have the best product and keep adding more crab and that's why lately to many have been suffering. I even try the dip powder products and have a reaction as well, so your video make me realize that maybe the tips that I'm using are also not good for me, it says acrylic tips not gel and they're from Modelones, I'm gonna try with the plastic ones and dip powder again and hopefully it's gonna be ok for me, thanks again!!

      I also developed allergy and tried Hema free but didn’t work. Tried many brand, the only brand that ive tried that doesn’t give me a reaction is PRIMA from ikoniq nails. It’s not only hema free but even many more ingredients that is to fix and high chance. Had the gel on for almost a week now and nothing. You should check it out but it didn’t work so good with extension with tips tho, not so strong to hold it

  • @littlewifethatcould
    @littlewifethatcould 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I found out the hard way a couple weeks ago, that I am also allergic to gel tips. I hadn’t touch tips for months after getting my allergy (back in May-June of ‘21) but recently I wanted to see if it would cut down the amount of time I spend building and filing my dip nails. Well, all the tips I own apparently have gel ingredients because within a day my fingers were so itchy and getting little blisters. I ordered another pack of tips on Amazon and even though they said plastic I’m convinced they’re wrong because they caused a reaction as well. So I’m grateful you posted this video because I need to find tips that won’t cause a reaction.
    I currently apply my tips with acrylic (because nail glue lasts maybe 4 days on me). But I’m starting to worry maybe the monomer is causing an allergy too because last time I did my nails they felt itchy. But I have to unfortunately test that theory to know for sure. So in the meantime while I give my nails a break, I’m going to try the dip base method and see how it lasts. Hopefully it lasts longer than nail glue.

    Couple of Questions:
    1. I can use the dip base with the gel-x tips? And since I'm not using the nail glue, I won't have a reaction?
    2. There is no need to cure these tips on with a UV light?
    3. Could I still try the gel polish on these? Or are you only using a specific dip for colors?

    Can you help with the following situation? It's so frustrating! So... the tips that fit my nail side wall to side wall and at the cuticle do not fit well from bottom to top (if I want them to stay near the nail at the cuticle, there's a gap at the free edge...). So you can imagine that there is a thick layer of glue between my natural nail and the tip (not awfully thick but definitely not as elegant as what I see in your video...). I can't file it off because my nail is short, and if I file right in between, I will have a gap between the natural nail and the tip. I see that the tip of your nail touches the gel tip. Any advice on how to make that gap between the tip of my natural nail and the gel tip less bothersome?

    So I have a question. I use gelly tips (I do not have a gel allergy) but the process & all the steps of putting them on is kind of a pain. Problem is I have a lot of gelly tips. Do you think I could apply them with dip base or do I just need to continue with the gel until I use them up? I don't know if they'd last since they are gel tips with the dip base.

    So haven’t gotten through the whole video yet . Or looked to much into the brand . But the dip process usually has all the same stuff . Why is this the method of choice here . Is this a specific allergy you have e or? Okay so when I had one of my first over exposure allergic reaction. I was almost done with the reaction I guess you would say. And I just practice with some dip, and another occasion I just practice with acrylic. And not on myself either on practice hand. And I was having problems with breathing in the powers and having a reaction. Now it could be because I wasn’t done with a full reaction. Or maybe it’s because my allergy had something to do with the hema issue that’s in all of those products . ( I was full masked venting, fans , window opened , gloves.) but it was definitely another type of reaction. Felt like the asthma I had when I was younger. And I know this can happen. But like I said it could have been cause I was already having a current reaction or it’s just that. Idk just anyone’s experience with any and all products I need some help. I’ve moved on to a press on business for now. And as long as I’m careful about it I’m good. But I’d really love to continue to work on others and myself . I know I should get an allergy test done. But it’s not as easy with where I live I’d have to travel really far. Soo. Please help.

    You look as though you have contact dermatitis from the products getting on your skin. I noticed you wiping the glue and the dip powder away with your bare fingers, then you go in with the product and get it all over your skin. That is what is causing the allergies.. You can use a tool to remove excess powder or liquid, and use gloves and remove the fingers from just above your nail. Having nice nails brings peoples attention to them, so you want your skin to look nice too.
