I am new to builder and polygel. I tried dip, and it was too harsh on my nails. Right now, I have polygel on. I'm actually impressed with how easy it was to apply. They are sturdy enough for my job. I wanted to learn about peel off base over builder bases. Thanks for the information!

I have developed an allergy to. And I’m thinking of keeping a diary of the products I have used to do my nails on each occasion. Because the ‘’growing out” part of the damaged nails is the hardest part. And when you by products from AliExpress, etc, most of them don’t have their ingredients listed on the bottles.

I’ve developed it, and cause I didn’t like the look of my nails while letting my nails grow out while they were affected by my allergy, I did the same to get through Xmas 🎄 and my birthday 🎂 and they are feeling fine doing it this way. Just can’t wait for the months to fly by until my nails grow out the damaged parts….(which at my age, I don’t want the days to fly by LOL.😊)

You do know that anything you put on your nails, is a poison. Open your eyes, do the research on the actual ingredients you are putting on your nails. I guarantee, you will not touch it again. It goes far beyond nail health.

Are you able to use mica powder alone without the acrylic powder mixture ?

So haven’t gotten through the whole video yet . Or looked to much into the brand . But the dip process usually has all the same stuff . Why is this the method of choice here . Is this a specific allergy you have e or? Okay so when I had one of my first over exposure allergic reaction. I was almost done with the reaction I guess you would say. And I just practice with some dip, and another occasion I just practice with acrylic. And not on myself either on practice hand. And I was having problems with breathing in the powers and having a reaction. Now it could be because I wasn’t done with a full reaction. Or maybe it’s because my allergy had something to do with the hema issue that’s in all of those products . ( I was full masked venting, fans , window opened , gloves.) but it was definitely another type of reaction. Felt like the asthma I had when I was younger. And I know this can happen. But like I said it could have been cause I was already having a current reaction or it’s just that. Idk just anyone’s experience with any and all products I need some help. I’ve moved on to a press on business for now. And as long as I’m careful about it I’m good. But I’d really love to continue to work on others and myself . I know I should get an allergy test done. But it’s not as easy with where I live I’d have to travel really far. Soo. Please help.

So you found that with the gel tips, you get a reaction to them as well?! I just developed my allergy to gel nail products 😢, and purchased all the things I need to start dip manis. I plan to use tips, I guess until I don’t need to if my nail grows out better. :) I saw some tuts that show using glue (or what you did) on gel nail tips. Have you done that? Anyway, back to the gel tips, really?? That seems so crazy to me but, I believe it.

Acrylate allergy. I have never in my life done nails or been to a nail salon, but I have this from skincare products, glue in paper wristbands and now also bandages. I used to be a painter, but now am afraid to touch gesso and paints. This is also in dental resin and other medical materials, glues, paints etc. This allergy accumulates and gets worse with time. I can't use any skincare products anymore but eco. Anyone else suffering from this on a bigger scale than nails?

Oh girl, I wish I would’ve seen this months and months and months ago! If you saw my nails right now, after going through prednisone treatment by my Dermatologist, and will be having patch testing to find out the exact allergy, you would not even believe how bad it has gotten…. I am not a nail tech and obviously will never be ha ha… I actually have been calling it my declawing because I literally have no nails and truly appear to be mutilated …….the tearing , the peeling , the bleeding and SEVERE pain has forced me to file for family leave and short term disability from my job, because I literally cannot touch or pick up anything ….. And it affects your psyche, because those of us who do our nails a lot and love it, I may not longer have an alternative. My Dermatologist told me my nails will probably not grow back in any normalcy .. This is been a learning experience like no other. I have done my own nails for many years and have made a lot of mistakes, but what really sent it into overdrive was poly gel and overcuring with forms that basically acted like a suction cup and bubbled up my entire nails. All. Of..Them. The worst pain I could ever imagine. It’s a vicious cycle because I can’t even put on the quick press-ons without itching and reaction is exacerbated. It’s been a long frustrating and humiliating road. I’m so happy that you were able to recover fully! Thank you so much for the video!

UV pigments require a UV light to glow, like a black light.

I have no idea exactly what ingredient in Gel that I am allergic to, I only know that Acrylic gives me NO problems. So I don’t believe it’s HEMA, because that’s found in both mediums. I was able to use acrylic for a few months to protect my very fragile, vulnerable, paper thin damaged nails while they grew out a bit. But now I’m at the point that much of that damage has grown out and the skin around my nails has cleared up almost completely… I’m now rocking traditional nail polish on my natural nails!! 👏👏👏♥️💪 They’re very short but mostly healthy now and I couldn’t be happier! That new regrowth is so much stronger. So now I can nurture my natural nails to grow them nice and strong and long, like I used to for 25 years before I destroyed my nails with Gel due to boredom during the pandemic.

This is the best info on saving your natural nail and still have the look of acrylics and gel nails. THANK YOU ❤

The UV powder is just that, UV reactive! They do not glow in the dark they glow in blacklight or UV lights!!!

So informative! I wish I found this video before I develeoped my allergies. I have been doing my nails for 7-8 years now (DIY at home). It first started for me when suddenly last year while curing my nails I felt my nails heat up. I thought I kept my nails in the UV light for too long and obviously ignored it. Then later on when I did new Manicures, I developed itching and watery blisters around my finger nails and I still wasn't aware that it cud be an allergic reaction (I have never been allergic to anything until now). I did a few more manis and everytime the itching subsided after 2-3 days UNTIL it affected the area around my mouth! Now the allergy didn't show up anymore on my fingers but my mouth. It got so dry and flakey and just horrible. I went to a physician and he said it might be due to the weather and less water intake (I know I should have directly gone to a dermatologist). I took medicine and ointment for the "Dryness". I did get better for like 2-3 days two times but the allergy returned (beacuse I was still using my buildergel and gel nail paints without knowing thats what's causing the allergy). Finally went to the dermatologist after 2.5 months and she recommended me to stop using all skincare for a while since my skin was highly irritated and also asked me not to wear anything on my nails. Though I didn't get an allergy test yet but after letting my nails be naked for a week and taking the necessary medicine my condition improved. But what's still causing my allergy to resurface (probably) for short periods (2-3 days) is the builder gel residue that I couldn't get off. Everytime I fill or use acetone over it, it acts up. I am planning to go "Naked Nails" for atleast a year (pretty hard for me), but hope it helps and heals. I hope this helps others going through the same or atleast help avoid going through this.

I also don’t know how far back to go in your videos where you went from gel products to alternatives so that I can watch and know all products you used will be safe for me . I think if I watched your vids after your allergy happened and see what you now use I’d be able to search those items up and try them out ..

I’m searching high and low what products to use since my sudden allergy issue but I don’t know what items are safe to use and this has depressed me beyond words ! I finally found my forever hobby and something that really helped me cope with past and present life but now I don’t know what to do and 1,000’s of $’s worth of products is now down the drain .. I’m so depressed over this 💔 I don’t even know where to start searching for items I can use and going back to regular nail glue is something I’m DREADING !!

What top coat did you use at the end? Can I just use a normal clear polish Not gel though? Can you cure your nails once you have adhered the tip with the glue?

Brilliant video thank you. Iv'e gone through I don't know how many YT videos to find 1 with Acrylic dip powder. Iv'e just overnight developed the worse gel allergy ever. Itchy cuticles and fingers, inflamed and red cuticles, fingers peeling. So I'm going back to acrylic. Just a question do you use monomer at the end to harden the acrylic powder? If not what do you use? Thank you for sharing❤

Im a nail tech and educator 20+ years... People are starting to get allergies since russian manicure trend, removing all the cuticle that is there to protect and placing and curing the gel too close to the skin... Allergies before were as rare as a plane crash.. and now a lot of people have it... The only thing that changed (because the products didn't, they are better now than 20years ago) is the techinical nail prep - russian mannicure and thinking healthy/all cuticle is an enemy that has to be removed asap... which is really bad and provides a great way for product to touch the skin.. This is my professional observation and opinion on where are those allergies comming from these days... Like i said nail prep and application was different before and allergies were almost non-egzistant.

Omg This is the best video ever posted. I had the exact allergy from IBD Builder Gel. Had to chuck it. It's now 2 weeks and ready for my next set. I do stick my full nail tips with a rubber Gel...never had any.problems. Then I do my dip powders. I also cant use Monomer. I bought a peel off base coat. Please can you tell me where to find a tutorial on the directions to apply Peel off Base Coat. I havent watched the entire video. Dont know if it might be part of this videi?

Thank you so much for this video. I'm sooo tired of this allergic reactions 😢 Trying different "hema free products" and nothing works. I start with the allergic reaction on August 2023 and since then my nails are awful and I wonder if all this allergic chain reaction in so many ladies, is because this companies are competing to have the best product and keep adding more crab and that's why lately to many have been suffering. I even try the dip powder products and have a reaction as well, so your video make me realize that maybe the tips that I'm using are also not good for me, it says acrylic tips not gel and they're from Modelones, I'm gonna try with the plastic ones and dip powder again and hopefully it's gonna be ok for me, thanks again!!

Beautiful! I'm going to try this method. I also have a gel allergy, and it's been heartbreaking to adjust to not having my nails done regularly. I didn't even consider that gelly tips would cause problems too *DUH*. My nails are extremely flat, so a lot of the full-cover nails don't work for me but I'm going to check out the ones you suggested.

You look as though you have contact dermatitis from the products getting on your skin. I noticed you wiping the glue and the dip powder away with your bare fingers, then you go in with the product and get it all over your skin. That is what is causing the allergies.. You can use a tool to remove excess powder or liquid, and use gloves and remove the fingers from just above your nail. Having nice nails brings peoples attention to them, so you want your skin to look nice too.

I thought it was my nails not curing long enough. I only got irritations on my ring fingers and my pinkies. Ive been getting my nails done every 2-3 weeks for yeats 😢 i love having my nails done..

A lot of these popular brands on Amazon nowadays are Chinese brands, a lot of which contain toxic ingredients and are listed as being what they aren't. A lot of them are not good quality even though they have become very popular. I have also developed allergies as well. I have found recently that the IBD clear hard gel does not cause a bad reaction for me so I will be using it for gel extensions soon, even though it is not a soak off gel. How I noticed the allergies is that initially, I started having itching around and under my nails whenever I did them. The skin would also start to crack and peel and my nail plate started to separate from the nail bed. There is a lot of false info going around about the lamp having to be a certain wattage. These cheap lamps that have flooded the market, do not cure the polishes properly, which allows product seepage that we won't physically see but it happens. Over time we become over exposed and we start having allergies. We need to use lamps from reputable brands and when I say reputable, I don't mean the popular Amazon brands. There is so much to say about this. I also plan to do a video on this topic. Guys be very careful because these allergies are life long and can be detrimental in the future because these ingredients are used in medicine for various purposes, for example, the cement used when you have a broken bone. When you develop allergies to these ingredients, there are certain treatments that you will not be able to do if you need them in future.

So I had a reaction 2 years ago and it was awful, but I was told it was a fungal infection. Got treated at the dermatologist. I just hit my nails done last week and i am on my way to get this off

Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed video. I love polygel and gel Polish and I am pretty sure I have an allergy now, but I was careless in keeping it off my skin. I am waiting for this to clear up then I will try the meticulous process of trying to identify the product that was causing me trouble. Can you tell me what full cover nail tips you used once you were able to start doing your nails again?

BTW- all these nail chemicals are highly TOXIC!!! Full of cancer causing ingredients. These chemicals are endocrine disruptors & anyone with thyroid problems, Hashimotos or other hormone issues or health problems needs to really revisit if its worth it??? Doctors never consider that connection. Go natural, take a breather & leave it alone for awhile. Maybe only do for special occasions. Sorry to be Debbie Downer here.
