The best part was "hold on, I have got to close some losing positions". That feeling hurts bad, but it's a crucial part of the business. I am trying to find my way for two months now and made a lil profit with sort of this way of trading (still undeveloped). One of the most important things I have learned was to accept a L! Just take it, learn from it if you can, manage your risk and move on.

Great contents and advice. Not sure if Tom had changed his "stop loss" execution methods over time or my understanding is wrong. Many of his live trades he put stop loss upon put in the order. Some of his scalping video, he said he don't put in stop loss. Could someone clarify if Tom use concrete stops or mental stop loss on day trading? For example at 37:30, should one put the stop loss below the resistance, or wait to the close to cover (without initial stop loss)?
Dear Tom, thank you for the amazing video! I have a question if I may. In this presentation you say that you do not use STOP-LOSS because there is no time (and God knows you're right!). Does this mean that you exit a bad trade selling at market price? You do not set a sell limit order? Thanks!
Hello Michele, GOOD question. When Tom scalps he doesn't use sl. But his mouse hoover over the exit bottom all the time ... so at market price. If you are in the day trading telegram group locate - Best loser wins. This is a good lesson when you day trade but it is a very good rule if you are scalping. If you are wrong get out.
Hard Q to answer. Tom has made some HUGE winners on swing trading. But if you are like Tom and are that passionate. Waiting 1 week, 1 day, or 4 hours for a new bar isn't that fun. So I would definitely say he likes scalping the most.
It is important that you trade the way which is best for you. Many people feel more secure if they fade the short time trend (3/5 min) in the direction of the longer time frame trend (15/60 min).
At 19:38 you said the bar has not closed and because it took last extreme highs and there was still about 90 seconds left for the close you would sell. Why is it any different from the candle at 35:25 ? The candle took last highs probably while it was open and had some time left to close, but you chose not to sell because if it closes at the very high it would be a buy on close signal (which it was). My question is: How would you know that it will be a buy on close or a sell because it took last high? Sorry if I confused you XD

Double top and all tech analysis are useless in scalping and day trading. It's a probability game. Tech analysis is based on the trader's standard expected reactions but in scalping timeframe is too short to make it relevant. You have to enter in the middle of the strong mini-trend that is part of a larger trend in the same direction, that's the only way to earn money while day-trading. And it's hard and you need a ton of discipline and patience. Not for everyone

Is there any use of having a longer time frame bias when scalping on the 3/5min chart on index instruments?

Yes, he does that every morning. In UK and Denmark, the water is often below zero in the winter months.
