    Scalping as a DayTrader.
Scalping is in my opinion not a science, but an art. I made a scalping video today from 10 minutes into the US open today. It lasts about 52 minutes. I have cut out a couple of minutes here and there, where I am quiet.
Scalping Lesson by Tom Hougaard from TraderTom.com - All trades though are in there, including the losing ones. I also talk about what I am looking for.
There are 52 minutes of trading, but if you just want to see the trades, then here they are, roughly:
    📆 Recorded: 26 June 2019 📆
    1. 06:05 min Sell short Dow
    2. 06:58 min Closed + 12
    3. 07:45 min Buy Dow
    4. 08:45 min Closed +1
    5. 10:25 min Sell Short DAX
    6. 11:50 min Closed + 3
    7. 18:20 min Sell Short Dow
    8. 18:56 min Closed + 9
    9. 26:02 Buy Dow
    10. 27:00 Closed minus 6
    11. 36:45 Buy Dow
    12. 49:15 Buying Dow again
    13. 51:38 Closed both + 33
    Total = 52

I dont think Tom has mentioned it yet, or maybe I missed it but his secret is momentum, watching the candles live and how they move, the speed...when they slow down etc. It gives you a feel when to get in and when to get out.
For example if you are on the 1 minute and you see a sudden fast up candle forming you may want to get in, after you get in the candle you get a bearish smaller candle, you dont close the trade yet..you notice how that bearish candle has no real speed or movement compared to the bullish movement, you have to train yourself by watching the charts live...it could take a while until it sort of becomes second nature... its like music, like the wind, it feels like a sort of natural movement that your adapt to and play with, you could say a kind of dance.

Hello Tom, Thankyou for your insightful channel and videos. I started watching videos on trading after booking a single day hefty loss and I find myself lucky that I came across your wonderful channel and your teachings. Loss became a blessing in disguise, otherwise, I wouldnt be gaining million-dollar knowledge at no cost :). What I want to know more about is the lot size, the volume. like in this video, You bought 100 lots of WallStreet and made around $350 profit. Can I know about the amount that was at stake for this scalping? If you clear up this confusion of mine, I'll be very thankful. Stay blessed.

I do have hard stop loss put in but when trading live on 5 or 1 minute chart live "you" are the stop loss. takes a while to GET IT! Tom is NEXT LEVEL Beast! @dakaodo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@jenilpatel7048 Not sure if my own method means I agree or disagree with your approach. :) I use tick chart for my LTF, M1 as my MTF, and M5 as my HTF. I have an automatic M1 ATR based SL, usually 1.5-2.5 pips. If I enter on tick chart and my trade setup/entry is wrong by that much, then I usually need to be out of the trade for real anyway. I don't mind the occasional 2-pip single tick spike that might take me out randomly, which is fairly uncommon in proportion. There are MANY more trades where the SL saved me from getting caught on the wrong side of a 5+ pip move within seconds. For context, I nearly only trade EURUSD.
That said, I do also close out some trades before SL if I feel the developing price action isn't setting up my direction. And in response to Lakis, then at higher speed scalping, after 10-50 trade entries per hour for many sessions, you slowly build an innate feel for the ATR of your TF. It's not that you don't have an RR, but that you know by reflex what the typical average and 2 stdev extreme range is likely to be per minute. I know to allow about 1-2 pips of wiggle room (thus my SL size) usually, or up to 4 pips in extreme news events. I know at a glance where my 3-5 pip first TP targets are, so I'm always working with roughly 2.5R setups, even if I don't draw them out explicitly on the chart. And if I'm wrong in a good way, price streaks for 10+ pips, then I hold until it stalls sufficiently and I close out and/or reverse to fade the automatic retrace at a convenient key SR level.
A good rally race driver doesn't watch his speedometer or obey any posted speed limits. He's spend 1000s of hours, learning the feel of the car in different conditions, and knows the feel of the speed that the car can handle going through a corner. Similar thing for scalpers. In the worst case of a bad call or unforeseen accident, wipe the account, fund it again. Never keep 100% of your risk capital in a single account anyway. Keep 80-90% of total risk capital OUT in a separate, non-trading bank account. Only need 10-20% of risk capital as your daily working capital in the actual trading account. Then the trading account BECOMES the final stop loss.
