    'get out and move onto the next one, the able to take a loss really quick is paramount to your survival and success as a trader', 'when scalping it's very quick in and very quick out if it's not working' great advice!

    the most relatable on...
    the mind is a powerful place. the major reason why pple fail in trading is because of how much they let a loser define them

    Tom, for every idiot out there that is cursing you for their own inability to turn a profit, there are 9 others like me that have seen the light all thanks to you. I read your book cover to cover for three days, and then I tried it. Holy smokes. Adding to my winners changed my perspective completely. Also trusting the system - you can't truly get something if you don't want it or believe you cannot have it. Thank you, Sir!

    Hi Tom, I bought and read your book “ Best loser Wins”. I enjoyed reading it and it really affected and changed the way I think about my trading. I am a part time day trader who blew up my account twice in the past 14 months. But I won’t give up and by reading your book plus practice on paper trading, I believe that will change my trading in the near future. Thank you for the video!

    I've listened to your audiobook several times, I always seem to pick up something new each time. Your transparency, honesty and integrity are impeccable, and rare in this business. As a long time trader yourself who came up through the ranks, I don't have to tell you how much it means to a trader when they hear someone in your position flatly admit that he has had a couple of bad days. I had one today, and hearing this from you meant a lot. Thank you for all you do for the trading community.

    First video I watch of you and I hear myself talking. I'm also very aggressive. I'm fearless. I don't have any indicator. I use a very tight stop loss. Never add to positions, If I have 2 losses in a row, I just quit for 30 minutes. In fact 2 losing trades in a row in nothing. I make that back in the next trade. But as an aggressive trader I can have 20 losing trades in a row if I don't stop myself out. It is like I trade in a zone. Either it works and I have a lot of winners in a row, or it doesn't and then I have to wait it out. If you trade every day for a long period of time, always the same underlaying (ES futures in my case) you get a good feeling and can be profitable if you can avoid big losing days. Losing days are not the fault of the market but it is related to yourself. You don't stop out, you're greedy, you think a trade needs to make up for a previous loss, you revenge trade, etc.... And for the future guy's: never trade between market close and the closing of the future market. That hour in between is designed to beat you up.

    Love seeing Veteran scalpers. I love to intraday but I love scalping so much more. I’ve been profitable at both but came to a hard stop when trying to switch back and forth. I’m now paper trading to train myself on when to scalp and when to hold with a bias towards scalping the first one-one half hour of Ny open. Thank you Tom can’t wait til you’re back in Sept.

    4:31 - That trade just pulled back into the fair value gap. That 3 candle pattern where you had a big rip candle up where neither the previous or subsequent ones had price go back and revisit that area the ripstick powered through. The algos seek areas of liquidity or to fill imbalances. What it did was fill that imbalance and then went higher. A good trade there if your higher timeframe perspective is bullish would be to take an entry at the FVG & risk the low of the range or candle that produced it targeting old highs.

      It depends you can use buy price/sell price or middle price. I think most use middle price... So let you want to buy Dow at 30.000 in US trading hours with 1 point spread. You will pay 30000,5 for the entry you run it to let's say 30010,5 and exit. Your exit price will be 30010. I hope it helps.

    Hi Tom, I wanted to ask you since you mentioned here you don't use any indicators and your style is based on observation of the candles. Yet, in another video of your strategy, you said you used 89 EMA & Stochastic Divergence to trade. Can you explain why? Thanks

      Not entirely true. You CAN actually blow your trading account by taking profits too early. Of course it is always a balancing act - and this is one of the most difficult aspects in trading. But if one does not from time to time have a "runner" then it will be difficult to become a profitable trader

    Hi there! Just finding your channel after months of watching interviews with you - which I've learned a great deal from. I'm a swing trader, usually a few days to a few weeks (although I do the odd day trade based on earnings etc). I was just wondering what your thoughts are on the methodologies of traders like Stan Weinstein, Bill O'Neil, Nicolas Darvas, David Ryan, Mark Minervini etc etc...

      Please don't ask us to review other traders. If you watch some of the streams you will know where Tom stands overall.

    Great. sell short once the bar move above the previous bar to create higher high double top with the previous swing. Noted. Basically selling the channel top, no? But I have to say I don't get it with the FTSE. Yes it has 0.4 spread compared to the Dow, which has a 1 point spread. But the Dow moves so much faster, you get at least 4x as many points out of the same move in the FTSE. So I would argue it's maybe even cheaper to trade the dow.

    • @LennieClausen_dk
      @LennieClausen_dk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tom trades FTSE in a MUCH larger size than he trades Dow.

    Great video Tom...question...their spread is tighter than the actual market. Are your trades actually being placed in the market or is the broker just keeping them on their book and taking the other side of your trade?

    • @LennieClausen_dk
      @LennieClausen_dk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We use spread betting (trading) - it is not a "real" product ... but hey - who cares you can get in and out for a low spread. We should be naive if we think that our 1,2 or 5 lot or even Tom's size will move the market one bit.

    Hey guys and sorry if this is a dumb question So when we get charged spread as the commission on buying and selling Forex pairs with a full standard lot, my question is if I trade mini lots do I pay the full spread or is it going to be a 10th of the spread?
