      That is a set that I put together and called it the "Emerald Express" I made a video run of it back in 2019. You can see this particular train run by clicking the link th-cam.com/video/xqd4P73eYdA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CO-maE1FMLJuT2WB

    Great you did a video dedicated to NY Electric trains ! I have been with them for long time and I’m one the original 200 members ! I’m buy from them often and I would say 80% of my collection is Jeff and Vinnie ! 😁

      I recognize your name. I found them back in 2015 on a Facebook page. That's when Jeff would talk about Block Island lol. When he moved to the group he quit talking about Block Island which I understand. But it was definitely humorous during the time being on a page.

    Shawn when you mentioned New York Electric Trains it rang a bell, I was sure you'd covered them on one of your show videos and sure enough, you brought up the York show interview! I'll be checking the website!
    And you're 100% correct about the MPC Era trains, they're a VERY budget friendly way into the hobby. Hey, they're a very budget friendly way to stay IN the hobby! And for those who turn their noses up at MPC Era products let me remind all that if it wasn't for General Mills seeing value in the Lionel name and buying the product line and then putting it under the MPC label Lionel would have died in 1969. Gone for good. And who knows what our world would be like without it?
    Thanks for posting!

    MPC Trains are great, if you have some mechanical ability and understand electricity you can repair them and they will last forever. They also have great graphics and paint . Most MPC Trains can be upgraded to magnetraction if desired .

    I agree -- the MPC-era resulted in some junk (but Lionel created quite a bit of junk in the postwar era!) --- there so many pieces that were well-engineered and you can get them for a song. No better way to get into the hobby!

    • @Dakman
      @Dakman  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, for example the Lionel Preamble Express you can find at shows for $90 to $150. O gauge is affordable with MPC Era trains.

    Shawn save your money
    4800 Conrail GG I 😅
    What is your opinion on the volume 2 catalog?
    MPC era is still great
    If I had any brains,I would have stayed with it
    You gave me the Atlas virus and the rest is history 😊😅

    • @Dakman
      @Dakman  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My opinion is that Lionel has too much high end rolling stock in this catalog. They need to bring back more of the old Weaver cars and standard O. People can't spend $100 on a scale detailed freight car. I have my eye on the Cargill S1 switcher too.

      @@Dakman you said something in a prior video,that I find disturbing.
      You said you sold off some of your newer Lionel rolling stock.That makes me think it's not good.Because of your comments I tend to stay away from it.For the money I will just buy Atlas and MTH premier/atlas premier.My last new purchase was the depressed flatcar
      Totally problem free.Your opinion is highly valued.some.reviews just drool over everything.We need honest reviews.

    Hi Dakman - nice pieces
    Wanted to ask your MPC layout what size is that? and you can run 3 trains ?? Thanks

    • @Dakman
      @Dakman  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the questions. The layout is 4ft wide by 16ft long. Yes I can run three trains at once plus a point to point trolley line and maintenance gang car line. You can watch a tour video on this layout by clicking on the link th-cam.com/video/9DFmWiL7eTw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lOC4dkVPCBiWp0DS
