Excellent comparison - thank you! While the 900 has many improvements, your analysis of the engines was really telling. I like the characteristics (sound and smoothness) of traditional triple so I think I will pass on the newer model.
Most important thing to me is the subframe. I don't like the sound of the new engine as much as mine (2012) and I don't really need all the electronics and further I prefer a real tach dial instead of TFT. I do have the old Nissin binders on mine and they are OK but certainly either of the early or new Brembos would be great. Anyway I'm old-fashioned though. My BMW (car) is 32 years old and I just flat love it.
Thanks for the walkaround comparison, very informative, spoken with very clear english and easy to understand. I have a 2015 800 Tiger XRt & have test ridden tbe 900 GT Pro. The 900 was easier to get on to the centre stand, my 800 nearly gives me a hernia each time I put it on the centre stand. I prefer the engine on the 900, but the 800 is fine. I was wondering how the access to the battery is on the 900? Easy access on my 800. I assume paying the extra for the phone function is a one off payment? Thanks again.
Just have bought a 800 XCA 2018 with only 4K Km for a good price plus tubeless tires (yes!) and Sykik pressure monitoring, it is a wonderfull bike for me ... 900 seems to be better ( but the sound is not!) ,,, and there will appear much better bikes all years ahead ... In conclusion form the moment I'm happy with my 800.. it is not perfect ... How is the heat of the 900? mine is hard on warm days and traffic on the streets

Much better pillion ergonomics on the 900 by the looks of it and a convenient preload adjuster for same.

do you think we can remove those gray lines on the 900 like a sticker?
No, you can't, the sticker are under the clear coat.
Is this the tiger 900 GT or the GT Pro model?
