    I bought an RB 67 new about 1972. I keep very good care of my equipment and the camera and several lens are in nearly new condition. It's nice to know these wonderful cameras are getting the attention they so well deserve.

    This was an extremely helpful video. As soon as I sell my Bronica equipment, I plan to buy an RZ67 Pro IID. I had an RB67 Pro SD, back in the early 90's, and I loved it! The photos you get compared to a 35mm camera are incredible! Thanks for all the great tips!

    Great Video! One thing you have to pay attention to when adapting RB lenses to your RZ body is that some RB lenses (I believe the older ones) have a different flange distance and you'll be able to focus past infinity. Some people have told me that's not a thing but I have an RB and an RZ and I've experienced this first hand. It still works with no issues, you just have to pay a little more attention when focusing to infinity.

    Thanks for the very useful video Nico, the problem of the Mamiya RZ67 is that after you try it you can't do without it anymore, impossible, you don't have cameras like these anymore, today's cameras seem like toys that beep like a game boy, RZ67 forever the best.

    We just sold a tilt shift adapter for one of these at the pawn shop i work at for $80 AUD today. I spent hours and hours trying to research the item as it didn't come with anything other than it was sold along with a mamiya polaroid back piece. after hours of searching with no luck, it was posted for sale at the original price it was listed at when we bought it. It sold within 2 minutes. I have since found out it was the mamiya NI701. Bit sick to my stomach that it got sold so cheap, but also happy for the unbelievable feeling the person who bought it must be feeling.

    Yes, you are right. The Mamiya RZ67 ProII is a great camera and has no optical disadvantages to my Hasselblad 500c/m. Unfortunately I had two issues with my Mamiya. First the shutter release button stopped working due to a magnetic failure inside the body. Second I had also the "click" noise of the focusing knob because of a broken sprocket. Both failures had been repaired for about 120€. The optical qualty of all my lenses are outstanding.
    Far better in comparission to the Hasselblad is the bright and large focusing screen.

      good luck :-) be careful, get blurry shots if you don't use a tripod, and mirror-up mode ( lever on rear of camera body--set to "M", "R" lets you revolve the back!)-if you use RB lenses, lift and turn the knob on lens to "M", then insert cable release in socket of knob, as this renders the "shutter" for mirror only operation!!( use cable to fire lens shutter). the mirror has more slap than you think, and the camera is heavy, not a "compact" by any stretch of the imagination.

    Rather than how to buy, please give us how to use in order to create fine photos.
    The art of buying is quite mechanical. It involves removing the credit card from one's wallet or purse. Most of us have mastered this technique and can do it without much thought.
    How to take fine photos is a different, and far more challenging subject!

    • @NicosPhotographyShow
      @NicosPhotographyShow  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I might make a video on the main key differences. But to me its fairly simple. If you shoot handheld Pentax feels easier, but if you need flash Mamiya is the way to go. Either way they are both amazing cameras.

    • @andyvan5692
      @andyvan5692 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      R Z-67 for sure (my opinion), the PENTAX is like a 35 mm SLR, but in a larger format, so when you load film, you are stuck with what you choose for the entire roll. With mamiya, you can shoot ISO 160, 400, colour, B&W all one shot, not wasting any rolls!! as you change the back ( film transport section of the camera) and its LIGHT TIGHT. also R Z is a bellows camera, with more lens choices around, Pentax has heavy lenses, BUT is a FOCAL plane shutter ( a few lenses do have a leaf shutter, but not all lenses); so it depends on style of photography, SLR or 'BOX" style suits different uses, R Z is better for macro & studio (size and weight don't matter here); Pentax has eye-level prism finder, so is better for street/ travel shooting.

    Thank you for you video. I’m in the market of purchasing my first Mamiya RZ67. I found this on Craigslist but don’t know if it’s a bargain or not for $1500.00
    Mamiya RZ67 body. Light-tight bellows with everything in working order.
    - Mamiya Sekor Z 90mm f/3.5 lens. A wonderful workhorse lens.
    - Mamiya Sekor Z 110mm f/2.8. *THE* most magical lens. If you shoot portraits, this lens makes the whole purchase worth it.
    - Two 120 backs. Each with their dark slides.
    - Zinstax film back. Shoot Fujifilm Instax square frames with this.
    - Waist-level finder. A classic!
    - AE chimney finder. These are difficult to find.
    - AE prism finder. One of the release buttons is partially chipped, but still connects and works.
    - Prism magnifier. Attaches to the AE finder for extra magnification.
    - Updated focusing screen. I will include the original focusing screen, as well.
    - All caps.
    Please advise.
