- This grass trimmer shear doesn't work anymore. It's hard to find spare parts in my city because it is old model. I decided to turn it into a 12V cordless power tool. I replaced the motor with a 555 DC motor, with this motor I optimized its power to maximum speed. It would be easier if I had a 3D printer for making battery adapters while I did it differently. In the end, the tool cutter the grass very well, but I'm not sure how long it will last. If you see improvement point please let me know.

I'd buy this used refurbished trimmer OVER any brand new store trimmer any day. Not only has this guy repurposed but added to the functionality!!!
Now add some wheels and a Long handle so you can trim grass while standing up. Great job!!!

I learned to do this when I was 10. I modified my RC car motor for more torque.
I explained what I did to my friends at school. The guy who tried arguing with me that electric motors have no torque is now an engineer for lotus.
Here, the motor armature needed to be rebalanced with the new winding. It's gonna kill the bushings.
