I'm just a beginner at 58 and today I jumped 20 jumps with the 2lb. and 20 with 1 lb. about 40 with the 1/2 lb then 100 jumps with the 1/4 lb. and about 50 with the 3 mm speed rope I think it's called and I did this jumping session in 40 minutes total and taking break periods in between while changing handles and this was tough for my 2nd trip out jump roping !!! And started to have foot cramps today as well and my calf muscles do get tired and sore so maybe I'm trying to do tooo much at one time as a beginner but I wanna increase my endurance more quickly !!!
Someone got bit by the jump rope bug haha Love to hear your enjoying it, but take it easy and watch out for developing shin splints or plantar fasciitis. I would give a rest day in between workout days and cut the time down a little or mix jump rope and bodyweight exercises so you can ease the amount of volume your throwing at your lower legs and feet while you build up those muscles. It's hard cause I get wanting to move faster, but I went thru 3 horrible bouts of shin splints when I started cause I went all out and it held me back even more. Plus now that I'm 37 I've noticed that my body is more susceptible to these kinds of things when adding them at high volume suddenly or quickly. Patience and gradual improvement is the way to go👍
@@Jump15official Thanks for the continuing encouragement !!! I'm gonna add push ups and pull ups at my old elementary school playground where they have all these bars to work with and while there jump rope as well !!!! As you say mixing it up !!! My foot cramps went away early last night thank goodness !! I would lay down to rest and up in 5 minutes with the foot cramps and that went on for an hour b4 going away !!! I can't wait to get those 3 lb 4 lb and 5 lb ropes this fall or winter but that 2 lb. rope was a killer with 15 uninterupted jumps b4 dropping down to the 1 lb. rope and so forth !!
If you scroll down in the description you will see some of my other favorite things I use. I have a heavy duty mat listed from Amazon, but if you can find a store in your area that sells a horse stall mat, that is exactly what I have. I also recently saw a brand called gorilla mats that are large and look pretty nice and still portable. The horse stall mats are heavy.
@@Jump15official Thanks for the reply! I've got the Crossrope mat and it's starting to show wear from consistent use with the 1 lb rope. Those horse stall mats look like they will really last. I enjoyed your video. I just received this rope set and love it. I like how after skipping with the 3/4 lb rope the 1/2 lb rope feels as light as the 1/4 lb. Later!
I used to lift 4-5 days a week. I have been trying to lift 3 days a week. Other than that jump rope and bodyweight training. 👍 Oh, and recently started doing some mountain biking.
Yes, The speed pro rope has a thinner pvc coating and thicker cable which adds more speed to the rope. The Gray 1 lber has a thicker pvc and thinner cable to allow for more durability on various jumping surfaces. The speed pro should be used only on a mat.
if you can't afford these but want a similar experience, i bought a set of decent bearing handles on amazon (£20) then just bought some pvc coated heavy duty steel cable off a hardware website (£12, it's EXACTLY the same).. add a couple of small carabiners on the handles (£1) and a little hardware on the ropes, and i've got myself pretty much the exact same setup for a fraction of the cost. Recently bought 2 more ropes, so now I have a 1lb, 1/2lb and 1/4lb - came to about £45... Edit: ok, delete my reply! Anyway, I’m obviously going to buy a cross rope when I can afford it. Having the real thing is always better than cobbling it together, and you’re paying for the convenience of not having to do that. I was just pointing out that in terms of materials, with a bit of know-how you can make one pretty easily.
This is a risky move. Your components are not necessarily made to take the pressure created by heavy ropes as they are being swung. They can do a lot of damage if a part fails and hits someone or something. Be careful. And I would definitely argue that it is most certainly not the same.
Would weighted jump ropes help when trying to learn triples? I use the weighted ropes sometimes for doubles, but my rests can't handle it after 20-30 times...
To reduce wrist stress, proper heavy rope grip is essential. Watch this tutorial: th-cam.com/video/hS-gFJw7ynI/w-d-xo.html Yes, they can help you build speed. Practice accelerating the heavier ropes. This will help you build power in rope rotation so when you go back to the light rope you will move it faster. I also have a triple under tutorial you will find on the channel.
hey bro great video. question man so my gym is closed down and doing bodyweight training and jumproping with crossrope the quarter pound jumprope. is it okay to use it every day for 30 minutes let's say medium intensity (switching back and forth from low and high) or should I rest
Thanks for the support bud! It's fine if that's the style of workout you enjoy. It comes down to personal preference and goals. Most of the workouts on my channel center around 15 minutes with a mix of jump rope and bodyweight exercises because I like to raise the intensity and go hard. If you want to mix in bodyweight exercises but keep the length around 30 minutes just double any of my workouts to get you there. As far as jumping for longer periods on a daily basis, just be careful of over use injuries like shin splints or tendonitis. Having a rest day or two a week isn't a bad thing as it allows for your body to repair. Hope that helps🤙
I am sorry kyle, but if anyone has problems getting crossrope in their countries, or if like me, crossrope is not that affordable for our wallet, elitesrs muay thai rope is a really good option to enjoy the benefits of weighted ropes.
@@Jump15official it is also another option for people that think "i cannot afford crossrope" or "is hard for me to get them" so they can get something they can jump with.
Absolutely, I wouldn't recommend them if I didn't. I average over a years worth of workouts (4-5 days a week) with my 1/4 lb rope and have never worn through the heavier ones yet. *I use the 1/4 lb the most Remember they are the only company that offers a 60 day money back guarantee if your not happy. A great way to test them for yourself👍
The 3 lber isn't for everyone. I typically stick to my 1/4 lb rope because I like working speed. Heavy ropes are a fun challenge though and can help increase your stamina and rope speed. For beginners I would still only recommend the get lean set with the 1/4 and 1/2 lb ropes.
Haha Well, in my case it's because I'm not sponsored by them. I have chosen to be an affiliate because I want to recommend a good brand. But definitely not getting paid to make the video🤙 Plus I only tend to review products I really like, so they will probably always be positive reviews.
A good jump rope makes a huge difference. Check out my full review of the Crossrope system here: th-cam.com/video/Qkrr6-3cUB8/w-d-xo.html
Respect! That's a lot of DUs! I'm only starting out and I'm happy if I manage 20 sec of DUs....
That's a great start! Now it's just building the stamina to keep going longer. Good work!

Tell me about your mat. Where can I get one? Thanks

Gorilla Mats are the best in my opinion!!
I was using the speed pro le set. I decided to upgrade
Nice!🤘
Sir, where did you get that awesome looking mat??
Horse stall mat from tractor supply co. Or check out the Crossrope LE mat or my favorite, the exercise mats by Yo Gorilla Mats.
So do you put the small knot in your rope so that it's the proper length for you?
I only put the knot in when I want to shorten it a little more for extra speed efficiency. A shorter rope is a faster rope.
Hey man! Saw you tied a knot on your 1/4, which size did you pick that made you tie the knot? cheers
I have a size small but if I want to pick up the speed a bit more I tie a knot on one side. Leave the knot out for when I do more crossing skills.🤙
Hi. Do you know if the heavy Le Handles are the same as the normal power Handles 2020 which come with the get strong set?
They are the same, just different color.
Do you use your slim handles with your half pounder? And also, are the heavy LE handles exactly the same handles as the get strong ones??? Thanks man.
Ya you can and I do. I usually change to the power handles for 1 lb and up. The le handles are the same, just different color.
Bro what other exercise you do other than jump rope
I used to lift 4-5 days a week. I have been trying to lift 3 days a week. Other than that jump rope and bodyweight training. 👍
Oh, and recently started doing some mountain biking.
CROSSROPE 1 LB Heavy Rope (Gray) vs 1 LB Speed Pro Rope(Orange). Is there a difference other than the price
Yes, The speed pro rope has a thinner pvc coating and thicker cable which adds more speed to the rope. The Gray 1 lber has a thicker pvc and thinner cable to allow for more durability on various jumping surfaces. The speed pro should be used only on a mat.

Has anyone isolated exactly what upper body and core muscle groups are mostly being used with the 1 and 2 lb ropes?
They definitely work the shoulders the most and then they will also get the back and chest some especially if you incorporate side swings and crosses.

Glad to hear it!
I'm looking for a weighted jump rope but they are to long. I'm 4"11
They have a size extra small that would be good for you
And even an xx small. Remember you have 60 days for a full refund and you can get size exchanges🤙
How long have you been training?
Cause your a monster
With jump rope about 10-11 yrs, but have been working out in general for at least 22 yrs.
