    Cheap crappy jump ropes make the exercise much more difficult to learn. I recommend a 6mm pvc rope for beginners as they provide the best feel.

      Agreed. His moves are so smooth and fun to watch. I hope to be at least 10% as good as he is one day.

    Using energy gives you more energy...when I'm not in the mood to exercise, I take five minutes playing on the jump rope with no goal in mind in order to: a) feel good, b)feel energised and c)to improve at a new move. I usually end up training after a small skipping session. Love to skip.
    Great skills as always mate, that is some high level skipping you got going on there. Respect.

    Side swings worked my hip abductors as well as my core since my knees used to turn inward when I did them, making me do a goofy jig. That came from years of being sedentary.

    In 30 min workout do you take breaks and if so how often and how long or do you just jump for 30 min straight no breaks

    • @Jump15official
      @Jump15official  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not a 30 minute straight kinda guy. I usually do intervals 30 sec on / 10 seconds off, 20/10, 30/15...typically in a Tabata style protocol of 8 rounds take a minute break or so, make any changes and get back after it. I often mix in bodyweight exercises to get in some level of resistance training on non lifting days. I have a lot of workouts on my channel if you want to follow along or get ideas.

      @@Jump15official Do your workouts incl. incorporating rope routines with bodyweight &/or dumbbell exercises, used for different goals/objectives? I imagine, that would make for incredibly flexible & effective program designs, esp. for those with little or no high-end gym equipment at home.

    Nice video.
    When it comes to vuilding endurance,what type of riutine do uou recommend?
    Intervals to build it increasing work to rest ratio then starting to jump for minutes at a time?
    Edit: you mentioned to gradually add more days. Any recommendations on how many days a week wnd what time it makes sense to work up to?

    • @Jump15official
      @Jump15official  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Intervals work great. Some examples: You could go from 20 sec jumping/10 rest to 30/15 to 30/10 to 40/20 to 40/15, 40/10 to 60/30 to 60/20. Length is a personal preference on what you want to build up to.
      I mainly use the first 3 listed here and often mixed with bodyweight exercises or after weight lifting workouts. My sessions typically last between 15-30 minutes.
      As for frequency it depends on the person. If new start at 3 days a week with rest days between and move up to 5 or 6 days over time.
      The biggest risk to consistent longer duration jump rope sessions is the repetitive jumping can lead to over use injuries like shin splints or tendinitis in feet, achilles and/or knees. Gradually building up will help steer clear of these and take breaks from jump rope for a few days every once in awhile to let yourself recover.

    I feel that using heavy jump ropes has helped with my rock climbing. It feels like the same muscles are being engaged.
