    Nice breakdown, Kyle. I appreciate it. They sent me a new set of Power Handles to replace the old ones. The old ones didn't quite make it to the two-year warranty. It was super cool of them to do that. Have you tried the WODPrep?

      Nice! I love their customer service👍
      I don't have the wod prep, but I have the LE Speed set which are the same thing plus another rope weight. They are made with a thicker cable and thinner pvc covering so they are smaller in diameter and faster, but will wear thru to the cable faster so stay on a mat. The main reason to go that route is wanting more speed.

    I'm pretty sure it's fast side swiping that breaks the vinyl.

    • @Jump15official
      @Jump15official  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it has more to do with jump surface and temperature. Any amount of pounding over time will eventually wear it down.

    • @eyeslo4206
      @eyeslo4206 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jump15official
      I agree that's what wears the sheathing, and that cold temperature will reduce the flexibility of the vinyl. Increasing the probability of shock from the impact of normal usage, to cause the vinyl to crack. I've put a lot af vinyl siding on a lot of houses in all seasons and have a good feel for the behavior of vinyl. This is why I highly suspect that during a speedy side swipe, while the rope comes to a close parallel, the arc at the end of the rope becomes very small. The more speedy the side swipe is, the tighter the arc gets. Increasing the amount of stress in the center of the rope while impacting.
      Think about how much of the rope impacts the ground, and how much of the rope cracks and where. Now think about how and where the rope comes to a tight arc during a side swipe. The cracks tell the story more convincingly one way than the other.

    How you adjust the length of the rope ?

    • @Jump15official
      @Jump15official  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      These ropes are not adjustable you have to know your size. You can change the size a bit by putting a knot on one or both sides, which I do when I ant more speed. If you have a current rope length you like, measure the length excluding the handles and get the closest size to that measurement.

    • @Jump15official
      @Jump15official  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The slim handles (smaller ones) are better for speed and doing skill work. The power handles are better for use.with the heavy ropes (2 lb and up) as they help remove stress off the wrists.
      The slim handles can be used with 1/4 lb - 1 lb ropes).
      Crossrope's are not adjustable, but I do sometimes place a knot in one side to shorten up for speed work. Being interchangeable, there is no way to make them resizable without compromising the integrity of the design. We don't want heavy ropes coming loose in the middle of jumping.
      If you have a current rope length you like, measure it excluding the handles and go with the closest size.

      They are like the LE Speed set Crossrope launches every so often. They have a thinner coating and bigger cable to provide the weight so they are a little stiffer and a faster designed for CrossFit athletes doing lots of double and triple unders.

      I have worked down to a shorter rope than typical over time.
      If you have a current rope that you like, measure it excluding the handles. If you're experienced, you can ask Crossrope if they have any extra smalls in stock. They usually don't advertise those. Otherwise, go with the small. You can always put a knot in one side to get it a little shorter and just remove it after you're done. They have the 30 day guarantee as well. Hope this helps!

      Medium
      If you have a current rope, measure it excluding the handles and match to the closest. But I think a medium would be good unless you currently use a shorter rope than 8.5'.

      No they function very differently. With the weight in the rope as it swings around you it pulls in all directions making your upper body work much harder. Ankle weights simply add a little weight to your feet.

    I wanted to love the crossrope, but the sizings are just all wrong. I'm just shy of 6 feet tall and the large rope is too short for me. They replaced with an XL rope and it was too long for me.
    I think if you are going to pay $80 for a jump rope, then they really ought to be adjustable. My 6 dollar plastic rope is far superior to the crossrope

    • @Jump15official
      @Jump15official  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm sorry you had trouble with the sizing. If you still have the xl you can try putting a knot in one side. Jump rope sizing has much more to do with skill level, form and technique than simply height. For example, I jump with ropes ranging from 8.5 ft to 7.5 ft in length. The reason Crossrope is not adjustable is because you can change rope weights. Adding a mechanism for length adjustment adds a potential weak point that is too risky when swinging heavier ropes.
      While I don't doubt that your $6 rope works well for you, it is simply no comparison to Crossrope. They are very different in their capabilities. But if the size doesn't work for you, it doesn't work. You did have the 30 day guarantee. Did you take advantage of that?
