Ray Charles shooting at a kid he knows is trying to steal his shit and saying "Go on, git!" is one of my all-time favorite movie gags. I never get tired of it.
He has another funny scene too - when he’s putting up the poster for the bands show in the music shop ( it’s upside down) I nearly died laughing the 1st time.
It's hilarious seeing all the millennials not having a clue that this was based on a mega-popular Saturday Night Live skit, and the band are actually famous from the likes of Stax Records and worked with some of the absolute legends of R&B and the early pioneers of rock.
The 'Curl Up and Dye' Salon, where Carrie Fisher's character works, was right down the street from where my mom grew up in my old neighborhood of South Chicago. The building is still there.
Carrie Fisher at the time was dating Dan Aykroid at the time, this was right around the time he introduced her to Paul Simon, who she eventually married and divorced...RIP Space Mama
I was impressed with their knowledge of Ray Charles! Steve Cropper of Booker T and the MGs is in there on guitar, and as of this comment posting, he just released an all-new album!
Makes me happy that even the youngest reactors here all know Ray Charles. Pretty good for a guy who probably started back in the 50s, or maybe even the 40s.
An absolutely iconic song from my favorite movie of all time!! I got to be in two short-term Blues Brothers bands during my high school and college years. Love this!!! 😎
Weird Al directed a music video for Hanson's "Thinkin' 'Bout Somethin'" that was a shot-for-shot remake of this sequence, and it's not a bad song to boot.
I love this movie. My older brother got me into The Blues Brothers such a great film and a great cast. This movie has such a personal connection thanks to my older brother. I am 45 and even now I still love this movie so much. Also love the sequel as you get John Goodman and Eric Clapton, Young people so need to check this movie out.
I see this in theaters with my brother, and we loved this movie so much. We knew Star Wars and Carrie Fisher. We knew who the musical guests were. Knew the Blues Brothers from SNL back in the late 70s. I've seen it a dozen times. P
Unless I am reading more into the choreography than there is, the dancing in Micheal Jacksons' THRILLER is WAY too similar to the people dancing in the street outside Ray's.
One of these kids mentioned that this was their favorite musical number in the movie, I nodded in agreement until I remembered that Cab Calloway is also in the picture.
Carrie's character was Jake's ex-fiance who he left at the alter and because of him doing that which also affected her sister is the reason why she tried to kill both him & Elwood
In one of her early ones (maybe first or secomd) she was folding laundry while reviewing a movie. At that time she had no clue that she could actually make money from TH-cam.

Steve Cropper and Duck Dunne are true legends
It goes back much further than Millennials. Even as old as Generation X, and I didn't know it was SNL originally.

Nice.

Fun fact. The young kid trying to steal Ray's guitar is played by the same actor who later played limo driver Arglye in Die Hard.
I saw this in the theater as a fairly young child. I remember people singing & dancing to the songs in the isles.
Blues Brothers was one of the first R movies I saw... along with Animal House as a double feature at a drive-in theater ca 1982.
Thats because it is Princess Leia.

Don't worry, Ray gets paid later in the movie.

This is the only musical that I can ever watch😂
One of my top 3 all-time favorites
Am I that old to where Carrie Fisher and Ray Charles are that hard to recognize?
No they are just so brain dead from doing so many reactions
It's not that you're too old, it's that the reactors are too young.
Most of them recognized Ray

P
Still a few viewings behind my brother, whose seen it at least 20 times. Same with Fame, and Airplane!
Ashleigh burton is a woman after my own heart man lmao i swear
She cracks me up! Ashleigh : "I hate myself right now, you do too." 🤣😂

Interesting note: MJ's sister Rebe did a cameo as one of the dancers outside the store
Now show the reactions of the church scene with James Brown and Chaka Khan
The Blues Brothers is worth watching just for the cameos by musical legends.
Few reactors notice the photos in the Carrie Fisher scene.
Yea if you concentrate too much on the Flame Thrower manual, you'll miss it.
You can tell which of the reactors are music lovers 😂
Largest mural or painting might be the grand canyon that was painted for the train ride thru the tunnel at Disneyland. I think it's the largest.
Pleeease, have a Minnie the Moocher mashup!🙏🏼🙏🏼

One of these reactors is mislabeled as The Octobers in this video. Reactors are known as Late to the Party.
Well, the party was in August....😃
Ray knows the the Brothers are on a mission from God.
Carrie Fisher did guest host SNL back in the day after Star Wars was released
Interesting fact: Michael Jackson's sister Rebe did a cameo as one of the dancers outside the store
Largest mural is in Incheon South Korea
One of them should hate herself for stuffing the face during a reaction
That's a never subscribe for me
Who gives a fuck?
Relax, her reaction videos are fantastic.
@donp1964 yeah, no
In one of her early ones (maybe first or secomd) she was folding laundry while reviewing a movie.
At that time she had no clue that she could actually make money from TH-cam.
@stephenolan5539 I'm going to have another look, thanks for the feedback
