Just Enough of extra loft to give me the yardage I needed and unbelievable feel. I am a 14 handicap and these irons make me feel like a pro.

We never had such a selection of great irons as we do now , 5 years ago each manufacturer had 1 decent club at least in the line up ,drivers were eclectic and very common to see mixed bags on the course , now they all have good ranges of irons and the woods just as good , you watch any review of drivers the top drivers has one from each company and they are splitting hairs within 5-10 yards difference , the iron line ups are all good with something for everyone , apart from the pricing what a time to play golf , all we need now is some consistency in the teaching , it seems as usual every pro, coach has the best swing technique and they all contradict each other , all we want to do is hit it straight .

Was just fitted for the Mizuno JPX Hot Metal 921 4-PW. Project LZ 6.0 black shafts and MCC Plus 4 grey grips. I tested almost every club (Callaway, Ping, Taylormade, Titlist, etc... and went with Mizuno. Up until the fitting I had never even had a Mizuno club in my hands. Absolutely love these new irons!

I was fitted back in August for a new set of 921 HM with Recoil shafts. These are by far the best Mizuno’s yet for the GI category. Sound, looks, feel and performance is amazing. Feeling a bit longer then the 919, but much better sound and feel for sure. Loft changes have been medicated by towering flight giving you wonderful stopping power, even on hard dry greens here in September in upstate NY. Have not played with a 4 iron in a while but this is a keeper, so easy to hit. Also the new Gap wedge is just marvelous! To the Average Golfer keep up the good work and enjoy your channel. Cheers

Last summer I switched from JPX919 forged with project x LZ 5.5 steel shafts to the JPX 921 hot metal with Recoil ESX 460 F3 graphite shaft. As a 65 year old, I love the hot metal. The slightly “bulkier” head is not a problem for me. The performance is amazing

I’ve ordered the 921 forged and amazingly I’ve replaced my hybrid with a hot metal 3i as well. To clarify the hot metal 3 is actually a 4i with 1 degree adjusted loft. A little funky but amazing performance. 😳 Mizuno has really done an amazing job with this line. I fully expected to be unimpressed, yet found myself almost speechless. Thank you kindly for the videos.

I have Callaway X-Forged irons from 2005 with Dynamic Gold 300S stiff shafts. I’m 57 now and my 7-iron carries 140 yards; about 10 yards shorter than 15 years ago. I hit the Mizuno Hot Metal Pro 7-iron today and averaged 162 yards (+22 yards). No brainer indeed. These will be my new clubs for 2021.

I looked n looked at every make and price. I wanted the Mizuno JPX Hot Metal but the $1100 for 5 thru PW..GW was for off the shelf standard irons. I went with the Cobra Speedzones being discounted at $86 per club including my own custom specs. I'm happy with Cobras new blingy carbon topped irons. Best cavity back I ever hit. I've played my fathers hand me down 1971 Palmer Standard blades since mid 90s. Cobras are a huge improvement for this 15 handicapper that was using ancient small blades. I expect my handicap to be around 10 to 12 in a short time period

Spooky that I came across your review a week after getting fitted for the Pros. Your comments are just as I found when trying all the new clubs that have come out this year - these were ahead of everything in feel, balance, feedback and they look good too.

Just went and got fitted and the 921 was my winner. I was not manufacture biased and just asked to fit what worked best. It came down to a 5-2 split in the hot metal and forged. They were 10 - 13 yrds farther with less dispersion and more spin then the next closest competition. But the real sale was the feel. Most of the clubs felt like swinging a stick where as the 921s I could really feel the club head and could feel how it was reacting through the swing. The shaft may have helped a lot there as well. The N.S. pro modus 3 tour 105 stiff.. once again the feel in this combo for me was off the charts

Hi Andy. Went for a fitting on Sunday. Wanted the P790. Tried them, the Hot Metal Pro and Callaway Apex. The Hot Metal Pro was by far the better club, both in feel, in data and in looks. I really recommend them to all who are looking. Slightly thicker top line than the forged but for me, more forgiving and more confidence inspiring. My fitter was recommending a combo set with the forged in the 9, PW and gap and the HMP 8 upwards but there was only a 7 iron to test. I’m wavering but will probably go the whole set of HMP.

I have just tested the Hot Metal irons during an indoor fitting session with my pro and they felt excellent. I was hitting the ball significantly longer and straighter than my 10+ year top flite irons (which despite the name have done me very well). I also tested the Hot Metals against the Ping G425 irons and I was hitting the Hot Metals a good 5-10 yards further, and 2-3 yards straighter. They also filled me with a lot of confidence behind the ball and the feel was excellent. I would recommend these to anyone consider a new set of irons, they feel like a game-changer!

Update from my previous comment below.
I finally received my Mizuno JPX 921 Forged irons, due to the pandemic delivery took around 10 weeks. I have to say it was well worth the wait. What an iron, they look and feel fantastic. The performance of these irons are the best I have ever owned in 30 years of playing the game. Do not be put off by the smaller profile. I play off of a 11 handicap and these irons perform so well. Ball flight and decent angle are great. I went for the Recoil F3 graphite shafts on the advice of the fitter, which to be honest I wasn't sure about to begin with.

The performance is amazing. My handicap is 8, my age is 69. I still have my MP68's and game them once in a while too. Mizuno keeps hitting home runs.

after 20 years of not playing, and learning on blades mind you, I narrowed it down to the 921 Hot Metal, Wilson D9, and a Cobra model in lefty. Once I got my grip and swing back, these really do feel very smooth and comfortable to hit. I went full Mizuno with a wedge and woods too, and couldn't be happier. These should last me the rest of my playing days.

I bought my Mizuno Hot Metal Pro lasts year the JPX 919 and have compared it to the new 921 and found very small, if any difference, but I can tell you this when I was looking at the 919 HM Pro I was also trying the Callaway APEX pro, and the Srixon Z 785 and found that the JPX 919 Hot Metal Pro, which again I've found to be as good or very similar to the 921 Pro, to be my choice due to performance, feel, and looks. Like the Average Golfer, as soon as hit the golf ball I fell in love with it, and have been extremely happy with them all year. Try them all for comparison keeping an open mind and go with what fells, preforms and fits you the best then go out, and be a happy golfer.

However tempted I am to take the plunge right now, the Ping fan in me is making me wait for the release of the G425 so that I can compare them both - would be great to see you do a future video with a head to head of these two sets in the future please.

these clubs are better hands down. Then the T300 or the T400 no comparison the Mizuno is so much better feel and feedback from the clubs they just have that click

I did test all four models, and for me it came down to the extra distance (stronger lofts) the Hot Metals had over the Forged. The feel of the Forged was just slightly better than Hot Metal but not a big difference. Both models hit the green and stop on one bounce. They both look handsome.

Been playing Ping i series (i5 and i25) for years...but am in my early 70s now, and needing more distance. At a fitting the Mizuno Hot Metals out-performed everything else the fitter put me through. So I ordered the gap wedge through 7 iron, with graphite shafts. Incredibly easy to hit--high and straight. Hit the 7 iron 15 yards farther than my i25 Ping. Best feeling non-forged iron I"ve tried. And was able to hit fades fairly well, though normally I hit a draw. Though there's definitely less side-spin with these. Only downside: the 6 to 8 week wait for arrival. Can't wait!

I think that is one of the goto orders for this year. I'm a 919 Hot Metal Pro player, bent mostly 2 degrees weaker to the 919 Forged spec, and love them - but ultimately replaced the 5 iron with an HMB 5 iron so I didn't have to see the back of the club. I hit the 921 Forged yesterday and the 31 degree 7 iron was hitting my 32 degree HMP number perfectly - and you can't see the back of the 24 degree 5 iron. I hit the KBS C-Taper X but would order the AMT White X for that lighter 5 iron shaft - perfect choice you made

Had a fitting last week as it was time to trade in my steel Mizuno MX900s. Started with the Hot metal 7 iron with recoil graphite shaft and my total carry + roll increased from 152 to 178 yards with these HMs !! Even the pro was surprised with my smash factor at 158 from a swing speed of 87mph. Dispersion was very tight, high ball flight and easy to get airborne. Went through the various incarnations from Ping, Cobra, Callaway, TM and Wilson with less success. Tried the HMs again just to make sure and got the same results. Fabulous clubs !! I'd originally thought I'd just get my MX900s reshafted but the difference in performance over my 13 year old clubs was just astounding. Now waiting for delivery plus a new Cobra Radspeed 5 wood. It's true - nothing feels like a Mizuno !!

I was just in my local Edwin Watts and was looking at used iron sets. They must have had at least 10 sets of used Mizuno irons including several sets of these JPX 921 Hot Metals. Used sets of the 921 Hotmetals were over $1000 for anywhere near a full set. My question would be, if Mizuno irons are so great, why so many close to new sets traded in?? Way more than any other brand except maybe Callaway. Full Disclosure, I own a set of JPX 900 forged, with graphite shafts. I like them, but I don't love them. I'm probably not a good enough ball striker for them. They feel great when I hit them right, but not so much when you mis-hit them at all, with lost distance as well. Looking to trade them in for a used set of Ping G425's when I find the right set.
