My 2018 XSE V6 was a pile of junk. Delay/shift shock accelerating from a stop or rolling stop. I fought with Toyota for 9 months-Lemon Law, arbitration. Toyota lied continuously and when I confronted them with evidence of their lies they said they wouldn't be speaking to me anymore on this issue.

The ventilated seats and larger tablet display make the Avalon the winner for me. Plus..the Avalon has buttons on the center tablet and the Lexus ES has that stupid mouse pad thing so the Avalon is the clear choice for ease of use as well.

I bought my XLE Avalon with just floor mats as an option for $32,000. The dealers are stuck with them only selling about 22,000 of them for the year unheard of for a all new body style. I'm guessing kids just out of art school designed the body making it undesirable now for seniors and young adults. If they designed the body to suite the seniors as they always did for the Avalon, I am sure the sales figures would have been closer to 80,000 for the year for a whole new body style. One good thing deep discounts for this ugly body. Since I am not going to trade this car in, I do not have to worry about the very low trade in value.
NOTE: I have to lower the seat all the way down in order for my head to squeeze in, thanks to the lower roof line, not at all senior friendly.

@@bigbopper546 A lot of the reliability rankings take car electronics and accessories into consideration. The Camry is the best there is. The only way to get something better would be a Lexus.
Of course as any car ages you'll have small issues with accessories. Fortunately automakers are now trying to improve the quality of the interiors and whatnot since the drivetrains and body's are so well built these days they outlast the rest of the car.

Yes thx for this. I was wondering exactly the same thing. My camry XLE is great, but in 2 years im thinking the Avalon might be the next step. But for same features. I was eyeing the lexus es 350, but that's 47k starting and I could get an avalon xle around 37 to 40k easy

You can get a new Fully loaded 2019 Lexus ES (Ultra Luxury package) with all options (Triple LED headlight, panoramic moonroof, full power trunk with kick sensors, Noise Reducing 18” Wheels) for $48k. (And this is in California, so I’m sure you may be able to find it slightly cheaper elsewhere). If someone is trying sell you basic ES for $47k, they’re trying rip you off. I know b/c I got one. Alternatively, you can get fully loaded Limited Avalon with almost similar features for $39k.
