I would have another Auto Start installed one that don’t need subsrciption. Other then that Nolan I really think it’s a Very good Car but still not the Deal I got on my new Impala with the PANO Roof 4G LTE WIFI and Android AUTO in the hottest Color Cajun Red Tint Coat. I have young people always pointing and saying NICE CAR which shocks me and in the Complex I live in mostly retired people they think I spent over $40K I didn’t pay anywhere near retail. Walked in offered $25K and said that’s my offer. to my suprise I had the car detailed and delivered with a full tank in 1 hour. I didn’t option in the Scratch, Ding, Stain on seats or carpet warranty (which I had to use as the MAN clearning hard snow off thispast winter used a ice scraper on the deck lid) The dealer removed the scratches no quesitons. Let’s get you to 10K for Christmas Nolan! You can Do it!
It does have remote start!! Press the lock button 3 times and hold it down on the third time until the lights flash. It’ll start right up (if so equipped).
The 2019 Avalon XSE does have remote start. You have to push the lock button three times hold it on the third time the lights will flash and it will start. It just does not have a button for remote start.
Finally !!! Someone criticized new cars’ Headrests. Yes, most cars these days have very uncomfortable headrests to the point that they can actually cause you a neck injury (Herniated disk ..etc.) on the long run. I am not exaggerating. The way these new headrests are protruding makes me either recline the seat’s back way back in which case I don’t feel comfortable or in control of the car or have the seat back in a more upward position as I like it, but then the headrest forces my neck to tilt forward and in both cases I end up with neck pain. I had this problem with an Accord 2012 and I’m having it now with a 2016 CX-5. Most cars these days have this problem: Toyotas, Hondas, Hyundais…etc. it is mandated as part of a change in regulations in 2008 or 2009, I don’t remember exactly.
I know it’s ridiculous. I had a ‘13 civic that absolutely drove me nuts. Some have an option to adjust them forward and backward but most don’t, like the brands you said. It’s such a shame
Yeah exactly I hate the way they are tilted forward. But theres a solution: neck pillows. I got a pair from Amazon for my '19 Avalon and its so comfy now
For remote start you double tap the lock button , and then hold it, the lights will flash, keep holding it, the car will start up, all you have to have is the convenience package with the audio system and the xse v6 Camry and touring Avalon comes standard with them. That subscription is just a gimmick to get more money out of you. I have the 2020 Camry xse and I don’t have that mobile subscription crap and I can remote start it straight from my key fob. Just a little trick my cousin showed me. He works for Toyota down here on the Biloxi coast.

Thanks Man! Best choice I made involving a vehicle! Before that I had a maxima, the difference on quality and dependability is night and day! And I found out they put acoustic glass on the front windshield for the xse! Since then I added acoustic front windows! Oh man it improved the already quiet ride.

I got in contact with a car glass installation place close to where I live, they offer replacement and repair! They simply just replaced my regular glass with the laminated acoustic glass, I even got it tinted! A lot of places have that option!
Despite that I think the new Avalon is the near-perfect sedan in my book, let me point out a few things. As for the locking glovebox for instance, I know. I can understand how there is no lock for it or anything, but I'd take it as a nitpick rather than a problem. Still nothing major, with plenty of space in it, while having at least something to prevent things from falling off. And it's nicely damped, as expected. The aggressively forward headrest... while comfort is subjective, I actually found myself very comfortable when I tried one in the flesh. Not only were the seats as plush and supportive as those found in a Lexus, but here, they feel like as if they were hugging me tightly or something, and it didn't really felt that forward to me. It actually felt just right to me. As for the lack of AWD.... I don't think it needs it here. Let alone that pretty much no other full-size sedan offers it, think about it. AWD already adds in weight enough (even think of why a pano sunroof isn't offered too), especially for a spec-wise pretty heavy sedan that felt A LOT lighter on its feet. If the Avalon-based Lexus ES had it however.. it would make better since as at least some major way to differentiate it from the Avalon. So I don't mind that. There... I disagree completely. While the specs may say stuff like that, I tried one out for myself. You're still paying for that superior interior room (that is even class-leading according to Toyota) and trunk room. While the sloping roof-line does eat into headroom a little, I honestly had tons of it when I tested one in the flesh. Coming from someone who is around 6'2" as a matter of fact. And 37.9 in of rear headroom.. which is only 0.1 LESS than the Camry in rear-seat headroom, let alone the sloping roof-line paired with a lower height paying for that sexy styling, while besting its legroom by much, that's something to notice, and extra credit for the Avalon. That's also in comparison to the Honda Accord and Mazda 6. Especially for the front occupants, the same thing. You honestly feel like you are in a larger vehicle as it is. There's in fact more to mention too.. though when it comes to making it Mercedes S-Class levels of large in terms of dimensions would be a bit insane in my book. Lastly, that would sound like a personal complaint, but I see. Though you can actually even activate your remote start from your Apple or Android smartwatch as Toyota says, and is the first Toyota to have that too. So.. there you have it. I personally still think the Avalon, is the best mainstream sedan of all-time. It's the near-perfect sedan in my book, that the only issue I had with it, was just the lack of Android Auto. (if you're curious, my final rating for it is a 9.5/10) Cheers.

I truly had a lot of fun with it and was really happy to see how much they improved it over last generation. I agree with everything but the pano roof. The Avalons in Dubai have them and the Camry XSE has it standard and the ES has it optional. Its not a weight thing, just a feature to get you to buy a Camry or ES

3:46 mark. I have a fully loaded 2021 Limited Hybrid and didn't see rain sensing wipers as an option! Saw your text said they had them in the limited for whatever year you were talking about. Dang. I loved mine in my 2008 mini.
Remote start is on car via the fob. You may have to have the dealer unlock it but if you press lock the times and hold on the third the lights flash and car starts.
I own a 2020 avalon hybrid limited for a week now and the seat comfort is horrible. First the seat back shape forces your upper back and neck into a curve like a “C”because the curvature is unnatural and has a 45degree angle to it and on top of that the headrest pushes your head even further forward. I never rest my head on the head restraint but with this seat design due to unnatural back curve and forward protruding head restraint creates so much neck and upper back pain. I have a good posture and i am very fit and for the past week I had neck and upper back pain. I even bent the head restraints back to give more natural “up and down” curve and that helped a little bit but the problem remains in the design and curve of the seat back itself. It con-caves and then goes straight up, which puts a lot of strain on upper back and neck. I am looking at getting rid of the car and getting a 2018 Lexus ES 350 since the seats in that car are much more comfortable and have a natural spine curve in the seat back and the head restraint.

Why is the Avalon even being compared to the Camry ? They aren't even in the same segment, nor the same thing. Try again. But, if we are going to compare the Toyota Avalon to the Toyota Camry, that isn't even a comparison. The Avalon (across the board) is just better than the Camry. That is not debatable. The Avalon is just the better car, as always. Personally, I really like the Camry, so don't come barking at me for being bias. The Avalon is in a MUCH higher league than the Camry. So I seen a comment on another video saying that a 2019/2020 Lexus ES is actually in the same price range as the Avalon. I didn't believe it but they are very close. It seems the ES is alot easier to find then the Avalons
I own the 2019 Avalon Touring and have many of the same likes and dislikes. Likes 1. It looks good and a lot of people come up and ask, “What’s your car...I really like it.” The grill is getting less controversial as other automakers roll out large grills as well. 2. It’s no an SUV! We own two SUV’s (one’s my teens car) and I wanted a sedan. 3. The 301 hp engine, adjustable dampers makes it fun to drive. Yes, an Avalon is fun to drive! Not Ferrari fun to drive, though it does get up and go on the highway. Sometimes I don’t realize how fast I’m going and I’m way over the speed limit because the engine shifts smoothly. 4. Heads-up display is useful. 5. Cornering LED lights is a huge help when driving in dark roads. In addition, the LED headlights project well making dark roads a breeze. Dislikes 1. Toyota GUI sucks. They don’t know how to develop intuitive infotainment software. They need to hire a real software team with common sense. 2. Toyota should good their owner apps into one single app, rather three cumbersome apps. 3. The JBL system is okay. It’s not nearly as good as the system on our SUV. 4. The lack of a lock on the glove box is ridiculous and didn’t realize there wasn’t a lock for several weeks. Makes no sense. My son’s 2006 Honda has a locked glovebox. 5. They charge for the remote start and other apps that are offered free from companies like KIA. It’s a rip off subscription service. I could name more likes and dislikes, though this should suffice for now.

I’m sure you’ve seen Toyota is releasing the 2020 Avalon TDR. It’s the same car with the TDR badging, slightly different sport interior, rims, and sport tuning. Just when I thought this would be the big dog for at least a year. 😉
S B 1) I believe the mirrors tilt when backing up, though honestly haven’t noticed. 2) the wipers are supposed to be rain sensing. However if you’re at a stop light the wipers do slow down...possibly that’s part of what they consider rain sensing? Otherwise, they don’t start unless I turn them on. The car comes with a remote starter, though you have to subscribe and pay Toyota for the ability to remote start through their app. I am paying for use of the remote start and other services. As the reviewer stated above, this is bs! This and other services should be free. Toyota nickels and dimes buyers on these services. Had Genesis released their soon to be released and completely revised 2020 G80, I would have purchased one. My son started driving, so I gave him one of our cars and needed to buy a car for myself. Lastly, if your considering purchasing an Avalon Touring or other trim levels, I’d recommend you negotiate very aggressively low. I’ve owned this Touring model for five months and never once seen another Touring or XSE trim on the road. I’ve only seen a few hybrid models. Be prepared to walk out if they don’t move down to a price point you’d settled on prior to entering the dealership. If possible, attempt to negotiate over the phone or email. Force them to give you an OTD price. Also, don’t pay for an extended warranty. Hope this helps.

Does it have reverse tilt down mirrors? I currently drive an SUV, and was looking into another SUV, but hybrid. I'm somewhat disappointed in the new RAV 4. It looks cheap. I would look into the Highlander but I don't need three rows. I love the options on the Avalon, especially the look of the 2020 TRD. I wish the RAV 4 had everything the Avalon Touring has. The RAV 4 doesn't offer passenger power seats, I hate hood props, no under the hood sound padding. I know Toyota saves that for their Lexus, but dang, Avalon has everything. I would love to stay SUV, but I might go 2020 Avalon TRD or hybrid Limited.
You operate the remote start by pressing the lock symbol on the fob two times, then hold it into the third press and the engine starts... looks like there are manuals in the non locking glove box
I’ve don’t that on some Toyota’s and Lexus models...but this one and a few others wouldn’t do it. I shouldn’t have said anything about it though. I’m the worst part is the engine shutting off once the door opens when it works 😕. Thanks for letting me know though!
Good review though you missed a biggie or two. Many owners including me find the 4 inches of clearance under the car insufficient. I have the XLE trim. I've broken the heat shielding under the car twice due to bottoming out going through intersections that my 2014 Avalon never bottomed out on. The other biggie is the external airflow noise coming from the drivers side wheel well area. At highway speeds, especially approaching 50 mph, there is a very loud buffering sound that comes from this area into the cabin. Apparently they minssed it during the wind tunnel testing at Toyota. Many people have reported this problem with their XLE version. I'm on my 2nd avalon. I don't think I would buy another one.
The Avalon Limited does NOT have rain sensing wipers. It DOES have remote start without the app. Hit the lock button on the remote 3 times holding it down the 3rd time. It will remotely start. Watch Cultivate Knowledge video on the 2019 Avalon.

Thank you! Yes that was my mistake. At the time I wasn’t aware that you could actually remote start with the key fob. They don’t make it known, probably because they want people to pay fir the subscription. You have the press the lock button 3 times and hold it the 3rd time. The only bummer is that once you unlock the car or open the door...it shuts off. Then you have to restart it again
Oh yeah, I forgot about the trunk. The manually shut trunk of my 2019 Avalon XLE. I have to push it down about 3 times normally to get it to catch. Another annoyance with this car.

S B 1) I believe the mirrors tilt when backing up, though honestly haven’t noticed. 2) the wipers are supposed to be rain sensing. However if you’re at a stop light the wipers do slow down...possibly that’s part of what they consider rain sensing? Otherwise, they don’t start unless I turn them on.
The car comes with a remote starter, though you have to subscribe and pay Toyota for the ability to remote start through their app. I am paying for use of the remote start and other services.
As the reviewer stated above, this is bs! This and other services should be free. Toyota nickels and dimes buyers on these services.
Had Genesis released their soon to be released and completely revised 2020 G80, I would have purchased one. My son started driving, so I gave him one of our cars and needed to buy a car for myself.
Lastly, if your considering purchasing an Avalon Touring or other trim levels, I’d recommend you negotiate very aggressively low. I’ve owned this Touring model for five months and never once seen another Touring or XSE trim on the road. I’ve only seen a few hybrid models.
Be prepared to walk out if they don’t move down to a price point you’d settled on prior to entering the dealership. If possible, attempt to negotiate over the phone or email. Force them to give you an OTD price. Also, don’t pay for an extended warranty.

Does it have reverse tilt down mirrors? I currently drive an SUV, and was looking into another SUV, but hybrid. I'm somewhat disappointed in the new RAV 4. It looks cheap. I would look into the Highlander but I don't need three rows. I love the options on the Avalon, especially the look of the 2020 TRD. I wish the RAV 4 had everything the Avalon Touring has. The RAV 4 doesn't offer passenger power seats, I hate hood props, no under the hood sound padding. I know Toyota saves that for their Lexus, but dang, Avalon has everything. I would love to stay SUV, but I might go 2020 Avalon TRD or hybrid Limited.

You operate the remote start by pressing the lock symbol on the fob two times, then hold it into the third press and the engine starts... looks like there are manuals in the non locking glove box
I’ve don’t that on some Toyota’s and Lexus models...but this one and a few others wouldn’t do it. I shouldn’t have said anything about it though. I’m the worst part is the engine shutting off once the door opens when it works 😕. Thanks for letting me know though!
Good review though you missed a biggie or two. Many owners including me find the 4 inches of clearance under the car insufficient. I have the XLE trim. I've broken the heat shielding under the car twice due to bottoming out going through intersections that my 2014 Avalon never bottomed out on. The other biggie is the external airflow noise coming from the drivers side wheel well area. At highway speeds, especially approaching 50 mph, there is a very loud buffering sound that comes from this area into the cabin. Apparently they minssed it during the wind tunnel testing at Toyota. Many people have reported this problem with their XLE version. I'm on my 2nd avalon. I don't think I would buy another one.

The Avalon Limited does NOT have rain sensing wipers. It DOES have remote start without the app. Hit the lock button on the remote 3 times holding it down the 3rd time. It will remotely start. Watch Cultivate Knowledge video on the 2019 Avalon.
My touring has auto start and I don't pay no extras and it's a '19
This car with panaromic sunroof and awd would be a killer but then a Lexus would have been pointless especially the ES and GS series.

Thank you! Yes that was my mistake. At the time I wasn’t aware that you could actually remote start with the key fob. They don’t make it known, probably because they want people to pay fir the subscription. You have the press the lock button 3 times and hold it the 3rd time. The only bummer is that once you unlock the car or open the door...it shuts off. Then you have to restart it again

Oh yeah, I forgot about the trunk. The manually shut trunk of my 2019 Avalon XLE. I have to push it down about 3 times normally to get it to catch. Another annoyance with this car.

The 12 gallon gas tank is the only thing I HATE about my 2019 Avalon touring!...... Other than that I absolutely love it!!!!
You're talking about the Hybrid. The V6 has a 15.9 gallon tank.
