- In today's Anime Figure Haul I finally get Amakuni's Power Figure in the mail, but uh...it seems like something off. We also open a few other figures(one of the best of the year?) and some Xenoblade merch

HEY. Help me out here if possible. If you watch my videos through mobile, how do they sound? I always thought my audio was fine(not perfect but good for now) but I watched this one on my phone and thought it sounded terrible. just curious if others feel that way
OH and btw if you watched my best of 2023 video, yes I did find a spot for Nia after all that criticism lol. She's hanging off the shelf slightly and tilted at a weird angle but it works for now

13:44 used to have the same problem with amiami but turns out you can talk with their representatives from sunset to dawn;and you can always asked them after you get your invoice, if you can get a smaller box /reduced packaging.

I have the same issue. They are sending me those overly giant boxes for figures that don't need them, but the problem is I can't know beforehand if the box they selected for my invoice is bigger than needed. I assume that their job is to select the best fitting one, so how can I tell if I need to message them. What do you tell them when you contact them?

Oh my god, I was literally just talking about this Power figure on MFC the other day.
Yeah I canceled mine, look if the base was a bit less detailed or something it wouldn't be a huge deal, but the fangs/expression on this Power is one of the defining features of it!
And it's so odd, since Amakuni's sculpts are usually solid. I was in denial, initially like no its got to be the angle or something, but no it just looks like that.
I woulda canceled if I didnt get the invoice immediately but it is what it is

Nice haul. It's amazing how much you can easily spend of acrylic stands, but they are nice art pieces although they do take up room. I've been trying to get creative and try different display options since I don't like my manga blocked off with stuff in front of them.
That Aqua figure is really interesting and does seem big, I do find it very appealing, especially with the bats and colors. I am very drawn to figures that have creatures, plushies, etc.
I had already cancelled Power a few months ago, when I decided to cancel and lose my deposits with Makima (Furyu) and Aki (Myethos) when I didn't really like how they turned out. Power did turn out overall really good, but the lack of sharp teeth made it so much more appealing, I wouldn't get it even if it goes on sale now. It may not be a big deal for many, but to me it is for my collection. The Prime 1 Studio statue looks awesome, but I would never spend that much on Power.
Thankfully theres a ton of Power figures out and more coming so you'll find the ones that appeal to you the most eventually. I don't blame ya for not wanting the amakuni version though. While she's solid enough I would have cancelled if I saw photos soon enough

Feels to me like Power was a situation of viewing angles coupled with the teeth not as defined and the extreme sides of the teeth also did not seem to protrude nearly as much compared to the promos. In spite of that, I still like her face and expression overall - It's just uncharacteristic of Amakuni to 'cheapen' out on the teeth details since they are known to be meticulous, I wonder what happened. Then again, this is still not nearly as bad as Mimeyoi's Taiho that I have received 😂
Loving that Aqua - I don't recall seeing a figure of primarily blue pallette so this is a first and unique for me and they differentiated all the blues nicely.
I would still say Amakuni is one of my favorite companies but damn if they didnt let me down a bit here. Also yeah Aqua is such a standout piece. If it wasn't for the nature of her design and the fact she's from a franchise no one really cares about(in the west at least) I feel like this figure would be getting more attention
Before anything else, I love the row of Xenoblade figures. I can't wait to display my own one day. Now that I've seen the video, that Power's face looks NOTHING like the prototype. It's just so different that I have to question how they changed it so much. It seems you're happy with it though, and ultimately that's what matters. I would also like to request make more Soul Eater merch because why don't we have a reboot for the show at this point? I think it would be a great move as I want a proper Maka scale one day.

I received my copy of the Xenoblade 3 artbook a little while ago and I have to say it's incredible!! When I took off the sleeve I loudly gasped at the cuteness of Noah and Mio kissing xD I definitely wished I would've gotten the acrylic stands in time, but maybe I can find it 2nd hand!
Again, in case no one else says it... I love it when you talk about Xenoblade! Gets my pumped up to go back and play it!
They've rereleased some of the XB3 stands before so I expect the same will happen for Wave 3.
If GSC could stop playing around and put Mio up for preorder that would be great cause I can already see myself talking about the figure for like 10 minutes in a preorder roundup lol

honestly her sculpt, hammer, and everything below the neck looks amazing, not digging the face or fangs being less exaggerated I feel it takes a lot away from her, I'm not the biggest power fan but it's still an amazing looking figure from 6 feet away hahaha, I might get it if it bins...

i am absolutely in love with that Aqua figure, but its waaay to expensive for something that is pretty much just an OC. I'll wait and see if it drops in price to about 25k or so and buy it then.
I'm still waiting for Power via surface mail. The lack of clear sharp teeth is a disappointment. The denim shorts also needed a paint wash to get some pop on the stitch lines. The sweatshirt also seems to lack shading. I haven't pulled the trigger on preorder the Claynel version as it is pricey and I have no experience with the company.
Well at least you saved a bit of money compared to me lol. Claynel is fairly new but the few figures they've released seem pretty high quality. Just wish she was a bit cheaper or not an exclusive
Power "Chainsaw Man", FiguartsZERO Statue for the price is so worth it the detail is insane the skill on the hammer just nice value figure

I've got my eye on that Miku too. Alot of people seem to not like the base but I don't really see the problem. Woulda preferred the cup on the bottom to be a different color tho
5:15 A cardboard envelope definitely not ideal but careful what you wish for as you're inviting the monkey's paw when Amazon could very well have tossed that Xenoblade art book in a 140-sized box with a couple of air pillows and sent it on its merry way. One of those large, vanilla envelopes lined with bubble wrap would probably be preferable. I'm glad it arrived safe and unmolested, though.
I feel like the book is large enough to warrant a basic box but yeah very minimal damage to the spine in this case so it's alright
Awesome Aqua figure, only thing bad about it is the pricetag but i've several 30k yen+'s myself 😅
I also got Maka, no flaws on mine out of the box. Think you just got a bad one unfortunetly. I ended up cancelling power cuz it wasn't looking perfect. It was actually the giant seam on the hair that threw me off but it doesn't look like that in person thankfully. I love the figure but the face not being perfect is almost insulting at that price.

It woulda been satisfying to line em all up but each one is wrapped in like 3 separate bags(stand, base, nameplate) and it's very tedious to open em all up without destroying all the packaging lol
Recently opened my Aqua, have to say she looks even better in the flesh than on the video. She was super expensive, but I am very impressed with her.
I'm inclined to believe this is the best figure I opened in 2024 so far

I mean, so long as you find the right shade/hex code of blue, you can MAKE the figure perfect, can you not? It's a small amount of white so it'd take 5 minutes at most to cover it up
Yeah for sure. Something I should do in the future, though I think I might also have to get the right top coat to make sure it doesn't look off?

Came here after hearing that you disliked this power in the recent wonfest video... (how did i miss this video wtf) Personally cancelled my preorder for power a few months before release due to financial issues. Didnt realise that this was what amakuni shipped to everyone. This power sculpt is still my favorite so far so its very disappointing to see the face not being as close to ideal. This is not worth the 27.5k yen :(. Just checked amiami and it is still listed for 27.5k. But I might consider it if it ever drops below 20k. Highly doubt it will unless there are better power figures in this outfit.
I've power dip on the aftermarket but not super frequently
Very unsurprised about the power.. you just don't get these small sharp details with pvc, basically ever.
Companies need to start advertising with actual samples instead of the one off prototypes though, it's scummy what they're doing.

I only regret that I had my Power sent by boat. I do agree teeth were a big miss, but still so many aspects were nailed properly. Absolutely can't wait for her. Except that I am...because boat.

I googled and its called inmon or "womb tattoo" or "lewd crest". Its some magical symbol but I don't really understand what it does. I guess if the character gets one they start acting lewd?!
I believe it's a reference to the womb design tattoo. Just like an artistic representation of the womb and ovaries. A lot of people get that tattoo as a symbol of their s*xuality, and it's very strongly associated with s*x workers and succubi

I'm selling my Power Figure (with box). I personally find her too... flat. The shorts look really cheap, the posture is stiff, and the face looks like a nicer POPUP figure. I think for the price it's quality does not match and the promo photos made it look better than it was. The way the hand and handle work... or don't work... annoys me.
Yeah just a disappointment all around. Ever since this video I've thought less and less of her overtime.
