It's been noted that because of that singularities refrain from entering "Shattered" universes. The story featuring The Fallen mentioned in this video stresses that he winds up in the SG universe by accident and that the world has never been visited by any of his siblings - but his body also becomes "mirrored," and instead of being constantly on fire, as the picture in the video shows, he becomes coated in ice.

Mirror Universes are like nerd nip. Even now, I still love the concept most of both the stories and the figures. I mean, we Transformers fans are used to "repaints" and similar minor tweaks. It is annoying for a completionist but sometimes the follow-up ends up being better than the original. Anyway, put it all together, and awesome justifications for such things are most welcome, and Shattered Glass is one such glorious bit of justification. :)

@@Ob1tuber Yeah, that's more of a joke. Don't take it literally. It's just that the main human character of the show who merges with Gridman is based off Cliffjumper's color scheme.
I still feel like Cyberverse had a missed opportunity to introduce this premise to the general audience. The season 2 finale would've been the perfect time.
Who else wants to see a Transformers: Shattered Glass version of the Bayverse? Perhaps it would be directed by Christopher Nolan and Optimus wouldn't be obsessed with taking faces.
+rayquazaemerald Fair enough. It would also mean that the music would be lousy and no-one would actually go see the films in theaters... I kind of just meant that the plots would be better. Probably should have worded that differently, huh?
I'd like to point out that DC comics did the whole evil version of heroes in their Crime Syndicate of America which appeared well before the Star Trek TOS episode. This whole idea came from Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde as well as myths about Dopplgangers. I don't know if there are any other earlier incarnations but there you go.
I have Rodimus Unicronus and it's strange but cool to see him in this comic. Its also very interesting to learn about the history that this comic was originally an April Fool's joke
Not sure if you keep up to date with Transformers Earth Wars, but it's started working Shattered Glass directly into the plot of the game with the current saga. They already introduced Rodimus Unicronus ages ago as an ability opposite to Inferno, but now we're getting complete SG character designs
Over 3 years after this video, Hasbro's releasing the first mass release Shattered Glass figures based on mass retail figures. A Generations Selects set containing a Shattered Glass Optimus Prime and Ratchet, based on their Earthrise figures
I think it's hilarious that Transformers Shattered Glass went on to inspire the SSSS.Gridman anime, with stuff like the main character having Cliffjumper's color scheme and a similar basic story.
There is a fam film called “broken mirror “ that used toys and Legos to have the heroic decepticon scout treadshot transported to the good guy autobot universe, complete with a pretender human form when he transformed to vehicle mode. It was pretty good.
Back in teh early 2000s there was actually a decently populated fan-run community dedicated to the Transformers "Mirrorverse" as it was referred to. It actually laid out considerable rules for those wanting to do fanfiction and art so as to not go off in weird directions, and people could read stuff from different authors that wouldn't conflict with the overall universe they'd created. It was long before the official Shattered Glass came out, and sadly, it shut down mid 00s, due to the forum costs and other committments. There's a few of the stories still floating about online, though. It was exceptionally darker and a lot less light hearted than SG, and in a lot of ways, superior to the SG universe. I miss it.
honestly I'd say the mirror-verse actually makes MORE sense than the classic one, at least for stories like transformers prime, where the deceptions are Ex-slaves that rebeled against the upper class.
The idea was so popular that Fun Pub attempted to use it in G.I.Joe as well. It wasn’t well received and to date the only shattered glass Joe figure is one of the crimson twins. Who looks exactly like his sunbow appearance , and only his filecard reflects his shattered glass origin.
I’d love to see an update to this episode eventually with a look at the current line of Generations figures and the tie-in IDW mini-series once it wraps up.
I’ve come up with my own concept that Shattered Glass is a sub-multiverse to the normal Multiverse. When Nexus Prime use the Star Saber and Terminus blade to get rid singler beings. The energy from it accidentally created a smaller second multiverse opposite to the original. That became The Shattered Glass multiverse
Watching this again, I need to get a hold of some of this Shattered Glass stuff. I can't say I've ever heard of it outside this video but it looks interesting and that shattered color scheme of Megatron looks really nice
8:23 professor sumdac was gonna be animated shattered glasses nick fury? oh cmon hasbro! i wanna see it even more now! ide also have loved to see sari fight her shattered glass counterpart as well, damn you hasbro... give us season 4!
Rodimus Cron is from the Prime Trilogy. In SG, he's just called "Rodimus" until he has himself crowned as Prime in the issue that mirrors the G1 movie. (He declares himself a Prime after he pulls the same stunt as G1 Starscream after Skylynx asks for the Autobots to jettison some weight just like Astrotrain did.)
So it’s like a different timeline where the Decepticons are the good guys and the Autobots are the villains a nice twist reminds me of the Same as it never was episode from TMNT 2003 where Donatello is sent to an alternate timeline where the Shredder won.
The shattered glass storyline makes you wonder how quickly the war would have ended i the autobots favor if they were more ruthless and agressive as the decepticons were.
I mean, originally, the deceptions WERE heroic rebels, trying to overthrow their corrupt government, but only because assholes because Megatron was corrupted
I've seen this video when you first made it, but I've been so excited for this new SG Hasbro line that has FINALLY come true 👍 that I had to watch this video again. Love the SG concept and stories, but most of all the various character backgrounds!!
I would love to see a video about Galvatrons origin story. Hope you are willing to do that. Also nice videos, I have been a fan since G1 but missed out on most of the storys except for Beast Wars and Prime.
Oh I can explain the g1 galvatron back story Ok it starts like this So starscream throws damaged megatron off the ship in space While starscream was leader Unicorn found megatron and gave him a upgrade in space After that He. Galvatron went back to earth to decepticon base Galvatron killed starscream at took over as the “new leader”
I want an idw interpretation with a more serious tone to it, like a separate continuity not connected to their G1 continuity or the new one after that. That would be awesome
While I never was able to get into the Shattered Glass comics, I used to read the webcomic series written by David Willis (if I remember correctly) the creator of those magazine mini-strips. I always loved his stories about SG Ravage!
For the record, Star Trek was NOT the first to do an mirror universe. DC Comics did had already done one with the release of August 1964's Justice League of America #29, more than three full years before "Mirror, Mirror" aired, which introduced Earth-3 and its evil Justice League equivalent, the Crime Syndicate.
I did not see the gaia thing but i instantly love it and want her to get more recognition tho how is she in the regular multiverse is she the earth still or another planet?

So, life passed by and then 2007 came and regardless of how people have criticized them, I HAVE LOVED EVERY MOVIE.... just being grateful that we have these things STILL today!! I haven't read the comics since Marvel's first run... maybe the first 60 issues and I STILL HAVE THEM ALL too!! I lost touch of the comics, and have tried here and there, but finding these videos the other day, I've been reading them trying to get caught up and everything is starting to make so much more sense! ANYHOW... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND THANK YOU!!!
I'm really glad! From the "inside," it's hard to tell sometimes if I really am explaining these clearly and simply enough that people unaware of the details can understand them, so it's great to hear you're enjoying them! :)
That's awesome man! I do appreciate it too!! I've done some MOTION COMICS before, but with parallax 2d-to-3d style... and I have been thinking about doing some again. Maybe we can collaborate on some, since you have a vast knowledge of the Transformers comics, and I love transformers!! LOL If you wanna check out how I've done the recent ones... you can go to my channel, and check out the Star Wars ROGUE ONE comic teaser video. Let me know how ya like it... the ONLY thing I'd need help with is VOICE OVERS for Transformers.
I'd actually like to pick one of the BEST ONE-SHOT issues of all time, so if you have any suggestions, let me know so I can get the digital issue for the high-res images and get started. I like to make it feel like your watching a movie, with that cinematic vibe. You can always check out my production portfolio at www.JMIAH.com or directly to some work at www.jmiah.com/portfolio.html
let me know your thoughts! Keep up the good work and keep these things coming!! Now I DO know about ALL of the MOVIE-related comics because I love the movies too!! haha
Nerd nip...🤣🤣🤘
@@jaysonlee4394 Yeah, totally missed how that sounded. XD I was thinking "Like catnip, but for nerds." Though perhaps reading it the other way still works...
@@KamisamanoOtaku 😸..I got ya..I was literally reading this while buying Shattered Glass Blur..and loled...I def get into the "nerd nip"myself..have a great day..🤘.and happy Transformers hunting..
@@jaysonlee4394 Thanks! You as well!
Rest in piece, Funpubs and IDW. Your unique twists on the world of the Transformers will be missed.
Now it is skybounds turn
SSSS.GRIDMAN references brought me here.
Bless shattered akane shinjou prime!
Ah, yes. I remember when Cliffjumper merged with Ultraman to fight Optimus and Hot Rod. Good anime.
I uh what 🤨
@@Ob1tuber It's a reference to the anime SSSS Gridman. The character designs of the show were all based off Transformers toys, specifically, the Shattered Glass toyline
I was talking about Cliffjumper and Ultraman fusing to me that makes zero sense
@@Ob1tuber Yeah, that's more of a joke. Don't take it literally. It's just that the main human character of the show who merges with Gridman is based off Cliffjumper's color scheme.
Well I don’t watch anime so of course I would not understand
God, would I love Shattered Glass to be touched on more in media. I would love to see it in animation!
I still feel like Cyberverse had a missed opportunity to introduce this premise to the general audience. The season 2 finale would've been the perfect time.
As a person who enjoys IDW's Shattered Glass, I never knew the concept was this old.
I would love to see a physical release of these stories. It's great that they're available online for free but I'd love to have something physical
Who else wants to see a Transformers: Shattered Glass version of the Bayverse?
Perhaps it would be directed by Christopher Nolan and Optimus wouldn't be obsessed with taking faces.
Maybe... but you can't stop Prime's fetish, man. Ya just can't.
That could be interesting--imagine if, in a true mirroring of Bayverse, the movies were actually great.
PhoenyxRysing in a true mirroring wouldn't that mean that the side characters are left alive and not the big names like Megatron or optimus
+rayquazaemerald Fair enough. It would also mean that the music would be lousy and no-one would actually go see the films in theaters... I kind of just meant that the plots would be better. Probably should have worded that differently, huh?
Shattered Glass Bayverse would be Optimus and Megatron sitting down, drinking tea, and politely discussing politics and world news
I wish we could get these videos everyday
I love these reverse stories so awesome and now they have the shattered glass prime which just looks amazing can't wait to get that figure
Wait are you for real?
I miss it.
An in depth look on the Quintesson species as a whole would be nice.
honestly I'd say the mirror-verse actually makes MORE sense than the classic one, at least for stories like transformers prime, where the deceptions are Ex-slaves that rebeled against the upper class.
It's a pity there the series was convention only, it sounds pretty cool.
I would love to see a Shattered Glass game. A full fledged out storyline and everything, like the War for Cybertron games.
I love these kinda concepts seeing a reverse of heroes being villains and vice-versa
Except the Shattered Glass universes have existed way before that event. The comic shows the Shattered Glass Axiom Nexus right after that event.

It's kinda funny how sometimes the story is serious and other times it's basically a big joke
Not having a Shattered Glass series is just insane. Insane I tell you! >_
Just now realizing we probably need a basic on Fun Publication, BotCon, and the Transformers Collector's Club
Watching this again, I need to get a hold of some of this Shattered Glass stuff. I can't say I've ever heard of it outside this video but it looks interesting and that shattered color scheme of Megatron looks really nice
Fun fact: the forth season of Animated was offlined by a cosmically powered Starscream.
I mean, even Comics Starscream got offlined by that.
Coming back to this video now, 5 years later, as IDW has picked up the Shattered Glass series and I have a new release of SG Ultra Magnus on my desk
I love how ironic it is that in both continuities Sideswipe is a good guy in each
8:23 professor sumdac was gonna be animated shattered glasses nick fury? oh cmon hasbro! i wanna see it even more now! ide also have loved to see sari fight her shattered glass counterpart as well, damn you hasbro... give us season 4!
And why does Shattered Optimus have a beard and Sari is more sexier and looks like a vandal??
I love transformers and knew nothing about SHATTERED GLASS.
thanks for this video
Megatron is literally a build like a mixture of all his Unicron trilogy counterparts combine with his G1 self.
RW:actually when Hot Rod is in the Shattered Glass continuity I believe his name is Rodimus Cron.
@@DolphyBlueDrake rw:i see what you mean.
So it’s like a different timeline where the Decepticons are the good guys and the Autobots are the villains a nice twist reminds me of the Same as it never was episode from TMNT 2003 where Donatello is sent to an alternate timeline where the Shredder won.
R-Rodimus Unicronus.... I...I can't...
The shattered glass storyline makes you wonder how quickly the war would have ended i the autobots favor if they were more ruthless and agressive as the decepticons were.
Totally, in fact it's kind of disturbing how the evil autobots are far crueler than the Decepticons ever were
YES! I only got into your series last Monday, and have been binge watching. Just the other day I was hoping you'd do a Shattered Glass episode. Yay!
I mean, originally, the deceptions WERE heroic rebels, trying to overthrow their corrupt government, but only because assholes because Megatron was corrupted
Yes ive waited so long for another episode. Your videos are really well made man, respect.
I've seen this video when you first made it, but I've been so excited for this new SG Hasbro line that has FINALLY come true 👍 that I had to watch this video again. Love the SG concept and stories, but most of all the various character backgrounds!!
Also Chris:
*SG bad* (after the reveal of Earthrise OP being colored in this paint scheme)
I want an animated series for this so bad
I wished they made Shattered Glass into a TV show.
I would love to see a video about Galvatrons origin story.
Hope you are willing to do that.
Also nice videos, I have been a fan since G1 but missed out on most of the storys except for Beast Wars and Prime.
Oh
I can explain the g1 galvatron back story
Ok it starts like this
So starscream throws damaged megatron off the ship in space
While starscream was leader
Unicorn found megatron and gave him a upgrade in space
After that
He. Galvatron went back to earth to decepticon base
Galvatron killed starscream at took over as the “new leader”
I want an idw interpretation with a more serious tone to it, like a separate continuity not connected to their G1 continuity or the new one after that. That would be awesome
I hope these comics get reprints someday. Id love to read them.
I would like to see a Transformers: Shattered Glass live action trilogy
If they made a show or movie about this it would change things up and be amazing
Who is back after seeing/hearing about all of the Shattered Glass homages in SSSS. Gridman?
Shattered Glass still lives! Its now represented in alternate art for 14 Transformers cards in Magic The Gathering’s Brother’s War set.
I'd like to see a episode on micromasters
And now there’s the new shattered glass figures and comics from hasbro pulse and IDW, those definitely “shattered expectations”
I always imagine this like if transformers have reverse day
Dank Starscream yeah, they should make multiple continuities with the SG concepts
While I never was able to get into the Shattered Glass comics, I used to read the webcomic series written by David Willis (if I remember correctly) the creator of those magazine mini-strips. I always loved his stories about SG Ravage!
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS MAN!!! KEEP MAKING MORE OF THIS "BASICS" Videos please!!
I own ultra mamoth and as a Ultra Magnus fan it makes me happy to have a beast wars version of my blue bro
Evil Mr. T Jazz? AWESOME!
For the record, Star Trek was NOT the first to do an mirror universe. DC Comics did had already done one with the release of August 1964's Justice League of America #29, more than three full years before "Mirror, Mirror" aired, which introduced Earth-3 and its evil Justice League equivalent, the Crime Syndicate.
do a basic about the combiners
Jose Francisco Espinal Mena YASSS
NO!!! I want Titans
I did not see the gaia thing but i instantly love it and want her to get more recognition tho how is she in the regular multiverse is she the earth still or another planet?
Transformers shattered glass deserves a tv series
We need an animated movie set in the Transformers Shattered Glass universe!!!
