I just got a 66 camino back in April, i fucking love it, it needs some ascetic bits still the chrome around the windows (all of them😢) and the piece that goes right behind the front bumper and i might swap out the seats, for some reason the guy i bought it from put caddy seats and steering system, btw what is the sound deadening stuff like i got the concept but what material so i can add that
I love this car. Been looking for a decent one for myself cause this is my dads. The sound deadening is maye of butyl i believe the stuff i used is called kilmat.
Cool is el camino still running good no hard cornering issues, with a non baffle tank… I’m asking because I have a 1964 el Camino I’m doing LS swap I’m at the point where I’m working on fuel.. also where did you put computer
This swap took maybe 4 weeks. 3 weeks of that was waiting for parts to come in + the driveshaft being built. This was my 2nd LS swap so i was able to at least get a good parts list together before starting it. But still had to wait on a few things
@@evansautomotive307 great work. Very useful video, I have a 66 Chevelle, 08 express van and 01 S10. Hoping to fix up Chevelle as cheap as possible. Thanks for the tips 👍
@@kasotty Glad this video is some use to you! And yeah all these guys spending 10k + calling their swaps budget builds 🤣. On the forums people will say its inpossible to do a swap under 5k and have it be reliable. This is as reliable as the suburban that the engine came out of. Thanks for watching
Really cool!
That car that came by going the other way looked just like yours.Ha
this is super helpful man, i recently inherited a 81 Camino. has a 350 with 700r4, and ive been wanting to ls swap it.
Hell yeah, that would be a fun car. No time like the present!
@@evansautomotive307 what is the axle out of?
@@the_communist_raider_1351 This was a stock 8.2 10 bolt from a 1969 el camino. Its the same as the one in the 66 but it is 1 inch wider on each side.
Cool info.
I’m go’in 472 on my 72 Elco.

Im in process of converting a 67 chevelle to a LS w/ 480le trans, i was looking for links to parts you ordered, but i did not find any links!
I realize you got a lot from wrecking yards, but oil pan, motor. Out offset brackets, etc!!
Where's the maf now?

Do you have a link to the headers that you used and what's sending unit is that I'm doing I swap on a 64 Chevelle
What fittings/lines did you use for the GC steering box ?
Hello did you use stock fuel tank, besides fuel pump bracket where there any modifications to tank?
Only thing i did to the fuel tank was put a new sending unit that has a return line in it.

@@leonhall8785 had no problems at all with it. The computer is right next to the air filter. Bolted to the drivers inner fender
Where did u get the wcu flashed?
Did it myself with HPtuners. The guy at LT1swap .com will remove VATS for like $80 or something. Hes done one of my other cars.
How long did the swap take you, time wise?

Hello did you use stock radiator for transmission cooler, or external trans cooler
I have an aftermarket radiator. Just used that. No external cooler
Thank you
