Nice ride Joe about to have some fun with that when y'all get done keep it coming man motivation I'm about to try the same with mines keep it coming 👀 🍿 💪
The old tank is just sitting over here. I’d say he’d probably let you have it it if your wanted to try it in your car. He’s keeping that rearend for now, no plans to race it or do any heavy beating on it so hopefully the 10 bolt hangs in there.
Cool. We are going in with the motor and trans this Saturday. It will probably be a week or so before that video goes up though. I’ve got one or two to go up before it. Stay tuned though and thanks for watching.
Idk where to start I have a 83 el Camino no trans or motor.. what would you suggest as far as gathering everything else before I get motor and trans? I’m thinking hoses and maybe a new fuel tank bc I wanna get motor and trans all at one time to drop it in. I’m thinking about going to a local junkyard and finding a 5.7 with 4l60e or 80
The best way to do it is get on Craigslist or Facebook marketplace and find you a wrecked Tahoe, Yukon, Sierra, Silverado or express van or one that for some reason is missing the title lol . That way you have more than everything you need. you can part out what you don’t need then scrap the remaining. You can verify that it runs before buying on and just going on someone’s word. ICT Billet is a fantastic go to for a lot of the parts you’ll need for the swap. There will be another video on this el Camino real soon since it’s finally back in the shop.
@@LeftForDeadGarage yeah, its about the same i guess. I think the LS has been over hyped and overplayed by a lot of people. I think that's why I'm kinda turned off by it is all. Don't get me wrong, It's a great motor with the EFI and everything. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a cool build though, and I'm glad you're having fun and are getting to enjoy it.
It’s not for everyone. I mean not everyone has tuning software or scan tools so that can be a HUGE pain if they always had to seen outside help for things. I know that would be a big negative for me. Not to mention it’s such a ugly motor and it costs way way to much to make one look cool and to me a hotrod needs to have that under hood eye candy, the SBC wins that hands down. Stock vs stock I’ll go LS but a full oil pan up build that’s a tough call.
I just used the fuel tank from a Buick Roadmaster Wagon. Direct fit and my straps worked, just had to play a bit with fuel hose to get it to fit. $40 for the tank and fuel pump that can run the 5.3 was better for me at the time than $250+ for a tank plus whatever a new pump would've cost me.
The sound of rain can sometimes be depressing....until you ignore it. Well done. I need to hunt down the next video!

Ayyeee carolina in the building 💪🏾💪🏾 about to do a 6.0 Ls swap on my 82 El camino
This project didn’t go well 😂😂😂. It’s about to come back to the channel to be finished up, now that we have another motor for it.
Nice work brother. That LS sounds like a good swap for that Hellcamino 😎👍
It should be a fantastic driver.
Right on fellas great job. 😁👍

Those are some great looking frame rails on that el Camino, I got a 79 malibu and mine are shot.
It’s a solid car, also been kept in the dry for most of its life. Hopefully we are back on it next weekend.
Nice work there fellas
Hopefully all our PowerTour plans align.
Watching now brother

A oem elco tank for a TBI car.
elcaminos are cool, you guys made that look easy, is he going to use that rearend, what did he do with the old tank, would that work in my 55?

The El Camino looks to be in really good shape. The LS gonna be stock or is to getting 'some help'? Be safe and stay well.
It’s in really good shape. It’s a low mileage 5.3 with a cam fresh cylinder heads and all the other related parts.
should be a fun swap
Hopefully it all goes smooth. Thanks for watching
I'm doing the exact same swap

Any updates on this rig??
I’ll be back on it tonight, they dropped of more parts for it just yesterday. Hopefully I can have a update video up this week.
@jalynn update video is up now.
What oil pan did you use for the swap?
Holley muscle car pan
LS? Boring
And any 67 year old SBC platform isn’t?
