      So good! I had been eating highly animal based but not carnivore until i started carnivore month on january 2nd as my girlfriend is french (they love variety and cuisine) and is sad by me not eating veggies but my stomach after 14-16 days has improved digestion and pain so much !

      Doing good but did go out for steak and ended up getting a small Ceaser salad and steamed broccoli 2 days ago. Sent back the bread they automatically bring and no croutons. Back on strict carnivore now with added seasonings not just salt.

    As a ketovore my staple foods include: avocado daily, steak, chicken(dark meat), salmon, tuna, eggs, liver, pork rinds, cheeses, olives, pickles, pepperoni, and bacon. 🥓
    I stopped losing with 30 lbs to go, stalled for 4 months. It didn't stress me 'cuz come on, feeling great, but I was stumped. After I watched your last vid, I checked out this other one where it was said that if you have stubborn IR, try lowering your fat a bit.
    I went from 78g healthy fats, (OMAD) down to no higher than 65g., and from last Sunday to today I've dropped 7 lbs.
    You keep me going, Kait. 🧡

    I'd say smoked oysters are pretty awesome. And offer the convenience of long shelf life, so great to always have on hand when you don't feel like cooking fresh meat or fish. Tuna, mackeral, kippers and sardines are good too, but to me not quite as convenient as smoked oysters....why ? Smoked oysters are just delicious on their own, while with all those other seafoods I find the need to add something, whether it be celery, onions, hot sauce or mayo to make them more enjoyable. Smoked oysters right out of the tin with nothing added - DELICIOUS.

    Not carnivore.. But I just went shopping and realized I might be eating ketovore for a while (at least until next week). I have a big pack of ground beef in my freezer, a small pack of lamb (I've never had it before so I wanted to try it), a pack of eggs, cheese, sardines, pork rinds, blueberries, butter, high fat yogurt, sour cream, heavy cream, and keto pancake mix. I know the last option is far from carnivore, but I'm still getting used to it. I can't believe this is my fourth time starting keto. Well, fifth now because I fell off the wagon yesterday and ate a lot more carbs. I think it was less than 100g but that's still too much. So I'm starting again today. If it's one thing I need to practice, it's discipline and this will help with that and with nutrition. I don't know how much fat I need to eat. We have to eat enough, but not too much and idk what that is for me yet. But I'm not at home anymore so this should better now that I don't have a judgemental mother in my ear every time I mention that I want some friggin bacon. Thank you for the video. I think this year I will just focus on being keto and next January I'll do carnivore

    Buying Wild Caught Salmon in Australia is like searching for the Holy Grail I reckon.
    I ordered a beef liver last year, not realising how big it was. It came in a plastic lined box of it's own, haha. I had two shopping bags already and had to go get a trolly it was so big and heavy!

    Beef liver is great and I personally love the taste. However, let's not forget that pretty much any organ meat from any animal packs a serious bang of nutrients. Even chicken, which is usually not a very nutrient-dense choice, has some nutritious organs. I recently discovered smoked cod liver (canned) and must say that I'm really impressed by the taste.
    The #1 was really unexpected, but it makes plenty of sense. Many people who start a LCHF diet, such as carnivore, need to unlearn their fat-phobia and I think kait does a pretty good job addressing this. Another way to up the fat/protein ratio is to throw away the egg-whites or giving them to someone who is still following the low-fat craze!
    Love the graph at 07:10 btw. Does anybody know where to find similar graphs for other carnivore-foods?

    Finally found a way to cook liver AND eat it. Cooked a roast the other night and had all the lovely fat and scraggy bits left in the pan. Cut the liver up super fine and put it into the pan and put in oven at its lowest setting for a few hours or so. Nom nom! Not so much liver taste to it and I kept going back for more... Cats were also pretty impressed with it.

    I come from a family with 13 children and we regularly ate baked liver, it was cheap and I loved it, now i have 13 cats and they eat it almost everyday. Recently for some reason I saw a video about the Carnivore diet, I'm not overweight, never had it but my immunity has been a problem all my life and physically I have many complaints, so this diet might be the solution for it. At the moment I am collecting as much information as possible about how to start and what is possible and what is not allowed. I am 65, 1.73cm 73 kilos.

    BUT.....will start adding
    - lamb (I always see it I just pass on buying...for no reason)
    - LIVER (ill go today and buy&cut them into pill size and freeze) (ive been meaning to but now will)
    - is Tallow the same as suet
    And other daily regulars
    - butter
    - tallow
    - sour cream
    - cheese
    ........all regulars in my word

    I get my local butcher to make me batches of Beef liver and Lamb Heart sausages. Salt and a small amount of pepper. I’ve asked him to not add any binders or anything else and they taste great. I have them nearly every day with steak or lamb. Sometimes a couple of Duck eggs also. Makes eating organ meats much easier and nicer.

    A few of my staple food on Carnivore are
    Canned smoked oysters and also canned cod liver. I was not sure how I would like either of these but I actually like both of them. And they’re very nutrient-based. At least that’s what I’ve read

    • @Samuel-yt9ty
      @Samuel-yt9ty 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I have been looking here in South Africa, but all the canned foods use cottonseed or rapeseed oil.
      Those aren't carnivore unfortunately

    • @MrGrog90
      @MrGrog90 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Craig Center Oysters and whole cod livers are nutrient powerhouses! The vitamin and mineral contents are off the charts.
      @Samuel I would say that if you drain them properly, it is not that big of a deal. I currently have a similar issue: In my local supermarkets, oysters can only be bought in sunflower oil. However, I still eat them regularly since the nutrition is incredible and canned foods are so easy to stash. The fact that there is a little bit of industrial seed oils left after draining is unfortunate, but I think it is still worth it.

    I've been carnivore only for a couple of days---had virtually no choice but to go 100% and drop everything else I was eating (keto plan) because my body simply cannot handle anything else right now. A long lifetime of eating anything and everything I wanted has done some serious damage, it would seem, so after five months of keto, and being utterly miserable daily, I finally understood that carnivore is THE ultimate elimination diet, and to get onto it for now.
    Hard for this very experienced cook and baker to give up literally every single thing she always enjoyed creating, and more so, eating, but if I don't, I won't live to see 70 (and I'm going to be 68 in just a few days).
    Hard, too, to find it exciting to have just meat, but for right now, I'm doing what I've been told, and am keeping it to just water (to drink), meat cooked with salt, Kerrygold butter (thankfully, that's still in my diet!!), beef tallow, eggs, and air. I just know I cannot continue to live with the excruciating results of eating the way I used to, nor the S.A.D. or D.A.S.H diets. I'd rather be bored with my food, and eat just animal products for the remainder of my life than to go through all that agony any longer.

    I cut my liver in bite size and cook them in butter. They melt in your mouth. I try to cook up enough to last me a week, but they only last me a few days if I am lucky because I can't stop eating them.

    You can soak the liver in yogurt or milk over night...it tenderizes it and takes quite a bit of the irony taste out....rinse pat dry and presto chango

    What about gout ? I suffer from gout and a meat diet (doctor wise) is not very good for gout. I stopped my carbs about 90 days ago and lost 32 kg (over 60 pounds). I'm 63, was 157 kg and now I'm 125 kg, I feel good but I worry about gout. I don't want to go back to carbs.

I’m eating the same for all 8 weeks is this normal? Should I be worried? I feel good and all inflammation is gone from my legs. I’m 61 years old I’ve been walking everyday going farther each day. Just wondering why the slowdown on weight lost.thanks for all your info on this diet. Carl

      Focus on how you feel! Weight loss is always fastest at the beginning, but losing 1-2lb a week is still progress 🙏

    How do you cook your liver on the diet

    • @latandersen9924
      @latandersen9924 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      traditional liver and onion is delicious. slice the liver thinly and cook it quickly. add as a side dish 2 or 3 times a week. you will soon get used to it and be looking forward to it.

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have much of an opinion as I have never had access to it myself (illegal in Canada and Australia). Probably better than pasteurised, from what I have read, but again, it hasn't been something I have looked into too much because it's not accessible
