Crop Protection Over Stubble with a Daystate RedWolf.

- Hi every one, here in the UK the woodpigeon can cause billions of pounds worth of damage to farmers crops year in year out so our laws let us control them 12 months of the year over arable land. Also i am shooting over stubble but there is a standing crop behind me so i am shooting the pigeon in this open field so to get good clean kills with the air rifle also this field will be getting drilled again very soon so i am keeping the numbers down in advance prior to it being drilled . I am using my Daystate Red Wolf FAC .25 Cal using 26 grain Hades pellets doing 52ftlb at the muzzle.

Another outstanding example of marksmanship, filming & editing. As always I've enjoyed every second thank you. BIG THUMBS UP ALL DAY LONG. But it's not the same without your best friend, here's hoping that Jack is fit enough for a trip out very soon. Take care my friend 👍😷👍🏴
Thanks ever so much Andrew, ye he's ok pal just gets hard work at times when using the air rifle lol
@@simon6ppc246 Brilliant news that Jack is okay. He's a proper character, nothings passes his attention lol.

@@PENFOLD1962 I am putting a video on this weekend with Jacks best bits in lol i thought about you.
Amazing marksmanship - well done!
Thank you.
Pigeon lands.
Start countdown.
3...2...pop!
Pigeon funeral.
Fine shooting, as usual.
Lol cheers mate.
Love these videos . That dog is such a character 👍👍
Thanks Simon.
A pleasant and fulfilling day keeping the numbers down and getting good meat in the freezer, top job Simon 💪🏻
Thanks a lot Bert..
Yet again some incredible shooting, filming and editing. A man and machine (rifle) in perfect harmony! It doesn’t get any better than this!! 👍
Thanks ever so much Chris.
Well done, I miss your partner. thanks for sharing.
Cheers pal,.
Brilliant effort . No messing , no undue faffing around , just solid marksmanship ! Exemplary.
Many thanks!
Another great video explaining why and how we do what we do in the countryside.
Give my regards to Jack. I hope the old trooper is doing well.
Thanks a lot Lance will do.
Breathtaking accuracy, pull those feathers from a piddies head we are talking half pence piece size, absolutely amazing
Thanks Lesley ye its not easy pal..
Wondered where your sidekick was until I read the comments, glad he's well. Another superb video. I'm learning a lot. Clinical. Thankyou.
Thanks a lot Paul i am going back tomorrow and taking Jack i just hope i can capture it on film has its hard work to be honest..
@@simon6ppc246 Greatly look forward to seeing you both.
What amazing accuracy.. no talking.. only precision shots.. wow..
Thanks Antony.
Great job as always! 2.15 - decoy is down, too 😉👍

I wondered how Jack is doing.
Thanks pal he's ok just i didn't take him that day.
Excellent video top shooting , dinner is now on the table 🤠🕊️🤠🕊️😉
To right Phil.
That was a perfect setup!! What fun!!
Thanks Merv.
Pidgeon:- let me go and see why all my mates are lying dead on the floor.
Big mistake
Oh yes
Flocking
Nice seeing you back out there again. Since shooting them with your rifle seems to be "too easy" for you I suggest using a pea-shooter or a blowgun. Hoping that Jack is doing well and fit for some short trips. Take care!
Thanks Robert, i am going back there today with Jack and i will try and film it but i can't promise any thing as trying to capture it all on film could be a challenge lol.
CD beri
Headshots at 50 yards! Nice shooting
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks David👍
Great footage, you are a cracking shot, you don't have to make head shot excuses for the antis or non-shooters. Sub 12lb is head shot territory, upper crop and throat are the cleanest kills as this footage shows. If you don't sever the spine it ain't and will never be clean, there will be flapping and kicking.Yes I do hunt and no not just a sofa-laptop critic
Thanks a lot much appreciated.
Hi Simon. This was a superb video. The sound made perfect understanding of a bullets travels point to end point. A fine study. Now my Nana had an.open field in Christchurch Dorset, we went pigeon shooting in the summer. My first shotgun experience I was eleven. Thanks for sharing. Regards Mike.
Thanks a lot Mike much appreciated pal.
As always Simon, another excellent video, well done mate.
Geoff.
Thanks a lot Geoff hope your ok mate.
Super doggo, the real star of the show. You can't beat the companionship & loyalty of a man & his dog. 💪
Thank you Hugh.
That's great shooting with airgun good bag . Great to see pigeon decoying with PCP .
Thanks Tony ye i just timed it right really.
As always great shooting , these birds look a lot like our white wing doves here in the states. Love the slow motion shots ! Six weeks till coyote hunting , getting very anxious now ! Stay well and strong my friend !
Thanks a lot Thomas ye soon be Winter here also
Brilliant as always Si. The head shots look like they break the necks as well at the same time Lol.
Please do a vid with the sub 177. That would be good for those of us who don’t have FAC.
Thanks Edward i might do pal if its not to windy,
At the beginning I was waiting for Bilbo and a merry band of dwarfs to trot past.
Bet you was well pleased then when you got me and my mate 😎
lotta pie comming up , great shoosting , here in oz we can only dream
Thanks Greg ye i fry them with onions pal..
Brilliant shooting Simon, Great to see an outing on the Pigeons with an Airgun
Thanks Phil ye its more of a challenge pal for me
Wondering how you're dogs doing hope ok, Plus good shooting
@@Husky1run Jacks fine pal he will be back very soon..
What a bit of kit Simon, .25 and 52 ft/lb, you are as steady as a rock!
At the price of cartridges this is a great alternative, loved this video, thanks mate!
Thanks a lot Bobby.
Just came across your webpage. I used to pidgeon shoot when I was a kid of fourteen or so, a long time ago. This was in North Dorset. I used a .410 shotgun. Took my bag home to my mum and pidgeon pie was on the menu. You're a fantastic shot.
Thank you Michael ye i do eat pigeons my self quite good.
You sir are a very good marksman. I have shot prairie dogs in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. We were using.22 caliber, .204, 19 Calhoun and several other calibers. Range was anywhere between 150-500 yards. We also were helping ranchers rid large pastures of these little things. Good hunting!
Thanks Antony ye i got invited over your side of the pond years ago to shoot Prairie dogs but never went, i hear stories of folk taking 3 rifles so one can be cooling down as you shoot another you get so many shots lol.
@@simon6ppc246 Yes we used to travel with six rifles for a three day trip. Once the barrel on my rifle got so hot I burned my thumb on my left hand gripping the gun forward.
"You bagged the limit for the day."
With that expression, you did have a great day. People wonder why the camouflage. Why there is two reasons.
One to hide
Two to keep the bugs and flies away.
Quietly doing your job. Funny how pigeons can't tell a live one from a dead one. They come to join the dead.
Give a biscuit to your buddy 👍🐕🍪😉
Thanks pal.
Dropped em in their tracks! Tell Jack we all miss him but that was some fine shooting again my friend!
Thanks a lot Dave.
Nice shooting. Wood pigeons taste nice as well. Where I lived in England the local farmer would organise shoots with his mates. They never collected the birds. We tagged along and retrieved them Grew up near Ongar in Essex, close to the old airfield in Willingale..
Nice one Boris thanks also.
A lot of young birds in this lot - it is good work you are doing
Thanks Captain they do taste better to 👍
Outstanding shooting and Precision trigger Control and Spot on Aim. Fantastic day for you Simon. I hope that Jack can make it out again with you.
Thanks a lot Rodney.
I hope Jack makes the cut.. Can't beat a team like that.
@@leegorman8322 Jack is a retriever and he's got quite a few years on. Still would love to see him work a bit.
Going back through your video catalogue a bit and funnily enough I see you using a Hawke Frontier. Since we wrote about scopes in the comments of another video a couple days ago I have ordered a Hawke Frontier 30 ffp 4-20x50 . Looking forward to using it, great shooting as always, cheers Simon
Ya know Simon the Hawk Frontier is a cracking scope no lies also the Element Helix another cracking scope for the money.
@@simon6ppc246 I got it new at a discount and couldn't say no to that offer. Keep doing what you do, you are an inspiration for younger hunters like myself.
A job well done sir!
Thanks ded.
Another great vid thanks.Lots of young birds about. Why do you go for the lower crop shots as opposed to head?
Just a change pal and its easier to in all fairness.
Excellent shooting Simon as always. What do you zero the Daystate at ? Good stuff 👍
Thanks Johny i zero at 40 yards but 99% of these shots were at 50 yards so a few clicks up and i was away pal.
Busy day! Very accurate shots in that wind...impressive.
Thanks pal.

I was going to ask after Jack but was afraid to! Give the old timer a pat for me! The most relaxing shooting on u tube!
Thanks a lot Rodney, he is fine pal just that day i was on the last minute and where i was shooting from would have been hard work with Jack keep peeping up and giving me away 😂
Didn't think they were flapping for a encore....😂😂😂 cracking shooting again sir !
Thanks Ian, ye plenty flapping but as they say flapping dead.
Superb marksmanship.

@@simon6ppc246 I would defo try Wildman 34’s or 39’s . I reckon they would be bang on . My buddy has the Safari in .25 and that shoots those really really well.

Awsome shooting as always Simon.

Thanks a lot Gary.
Another exciting video. Somehow watching your marksmanship is calming. Outstanding video editing. Hope to see Jack in the next video. Tell him he's a good boy.
Thanks a lot pal.
Top job Simon👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎
Thanks a lot Allan.
Another great video, and thanks you’re convincing me to give the RM8 another go. I was too use to not worrying much about crosswinds with my powder burners so the air rifle didn’t last very long before it was put in the gun safe after getting it. Seemed like a bird farting in a tree would upset the pellets. Lol.
Ye pellets are hard work in the wind Ando
Great Shooting again Sir! Hope Jack feels better! Thanks for sharing! Keep up the Good Work!
Thank you Bernard.
As always a brilliant video Simon.
Thanks John.
Great control. Suppressor works well. Cheers 🇨🇦
Thanks 👍
30 years ago I lived on a farm that was totally overrun with woodchucks. I grew up at the range shooting about 2000 rounds a week. I bought a Winchester lever action 22 magnum rifle with a 3 x 9 scope. My landlord offered to buy my ammo. That summer I shot 81 woodchucks.
I shoot my hand gun all the time.
All my sons Friends say..” mr. Winters(Band of Brothers)…….” You are the last person I want to get in a gun fight with”.
Lol cheers Jay and ye i get the same comments my self 😂
Thumbs up, man... really... headshot after headshot... superb marsmanship.
Thanks pal.
Superb shooting, another great video well done.
Thanks Brian.
Great shooting..👍
Thank you.
Head shots are fun But I prefer the heart double lung shot Because there's no major disturbance from excessive nerve twitch and flapping around, It's just Face plant done a little flapping but just enough to look like another bird is landing and good night
Ye i know what you mean pal in all fairness top of the chest i think is the best spot.
