    Hey Simon, great video. I appreciate how you leave the foxes alone when they aren't causing problems! Never been a fan of killing for the sake of killing. Cheers.

      Same here. I kill coyotes only mainly to protect the deer herd and yes because I enjoy hunting them. The foxes aren't hurting anything, and the bobcats are rare around here. I see no point in killing them.

    Great to see Jack again and sporting his jacket. Like your ethics..."cause not a problem I leave you alone but if you cause an issue I become your problem"..Looking forward to your results with the new sight. Keep safe and shot straight. Remember....they are waiting for you...🦊🐰🐭 the three amigos.

    Great video. I’m just getting to know my Digex C50. I’ve zeroed it at 50m in my A profile, but I notice at various stages of your video, your aim points are different. Showing on the bottom left of the screen with the arrow. Are they different profiles you’re moving to, or just adjusting distance within the same profile on the fly? And I’m assuming u do this to eliminate hold over for targets at different ranges? Cheers from Australia 👍

    Great shooting and some really good samples of what the C50 can do. Having used one with the Pulsar illuminator, I'd say your PBIR is well worth it at range. IMO/IME the daytime colour mode is pretty good for practical purposes, but not exactly a pleasure to use; whereas the image at night is impressive, and the twilight colour mode is simply magic. That comes across really well in your video. Thanks.

    Hi Simon. Greta videos.
    Where do I find your load development for the 55 grain BK please?
    I have an old - but accurate - AII Sako in 6ppc USA. The barrel has been shortened to 22" . Not sure if that would effect burn rates that much, but it has been done now, and too late to go back.
    I am using N133 ( 27.4grains under 70 SMK), and the accuracy is V. good.
    Where do I need to be looking for 55 grain bullets please? Differtent powder or just load development?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @simon6ppc246
      @simon6ppc246  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Paul ye mine is the same rifle as yours and i use 29 grains of vit 133 with the 55 BKs but i reckon you could fill the case to the brim with no pressure signs.

    Very nice, what would be your max shooting range on a clear night. I am thinking about getting one of these. I currently have NSS 3, subzero lazer on a Pentax 4x14 x44 that does well out to 250 yds, on a clear night. I would love to have a quality Thermal, but the only one I would consider after seeing a cheaper version that a buddy has, would cost about $2000, a little pricey.

      I was watching a fox only last night at 430 yards Sam, obviously i had pixilation and such but i could see it, you easily see to 400 yards just when you zoom the picture does slightly pixelate.

    How about suppressor reflection? Currently, I'm facing the problem because my suppressor is so big that it causes reflections from IR on top of the PARD night vision and it gives me in my glass scope a milky, blurred view. Will this occur in the digital scope?

    Is there much of a feral cat issue in the UK? Will foxes take a cat? Are there any predators in the UK that can dine on feral cats? (I know this is off topic but I figured I would ask as I was thinking of what a fox's prey in the UK might be, other than rodents and small birds.)

    Hi Simon , I’ve just had a look at your C50 report. Apparently I’ll be getting one from TJ after the shooting show to try out and review. I’ll be concentrating on the early morning squirrels and evening rats, and hopefully demo the 950 Nm IR illumination that comes with it.
    Being invisible may just provoke me to fit it on my .243 for Mr and Mrs Fox, but we will see🤔

      I have a ND3 Sub zero laser, that can flood or pinpoint, on top of a Burris 4x14x44, set up on a Savage 10Hog hunter, in .223 that works very well out to about 275 yds on a clear night. We have lots of rolling fields and woods, with good backstops, so we are pretty safe. The rifle shoots in the low .300's at 100yds with a 55gr or 70grHP, the later running about 3000fps. I load all my own ammo, as I am sure you do also. I am considering buy a night vision, or am waiting on Thermal prices to drop. I have a friend who bought one of the new Trijicons, to use on coyotes and hogs in Oklahoma, on his vast farm. Thermals cost a lot of $$$ though.

    • @simon6ppc246
      @simon6ppc246  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kogerism Ye thermal for me on my terrain in rushes and such with sheep and soon lambs about some times can be hard work so i have always stuck with night vision for better identification reasons but i think the C50 for the price is a good buy even thought there are slightly better NVs out there but twice the price like say my Drone Pro.

    Hi Simon. That looks like a good piece of kit, good to see a real world review . The picture quality is the best I have seen, the colours are very vivid and clear, using the PBIR makes a big difference. I have a pard 008 early model and that’s great the C50 is a big step up. Good to see you don’t shoot foxes for the sake of it, but when the landowner wants the sorted then it has to be done ✅ I have a Guest rifle scope thermal teamed with my 17 HMR for rabbits now there’s a combination nothing can hide. Anyway good review and great rat shooting, nice to see Jacks winter wardrobe 😃 Good stuff 👍
