I have wanted to make some blueberry syrup, but the processing seemed a bit of a challenge, but watching you....lets me know I can DO it too!!!! Great great video. Thanks so much.
Thank you, Starr. I'm so glad this video helps. Learning to extract the juice is the base of syrups. Once you understand that the sky's the limit. I made blueberry butter from the pulp so nothing gets wasted. Please share with us what juice you extract first. Looking forward to hear your success story with fruit syrups. Thank you for tuning into my world and commenting. Hugs, Lisa
This looks so delicious! I love blueberries in any shape and form. This would be great to make salad dressing out of. Thank you for your hard work and great videos Lisa!
Thank you for the support. I actually made a blueberry/raspberry vinaigrette dressing last night. My hubs doesn't normally eat salads or anything vingery but I looked over and he had a spoon eating my dressing. lol
Would you make a video of that next time and list the ingredient's down at the bottoms? Please Aso we have a blackberry bush and i like to learn how to make that without all the seeds or how do you make the butter? With the seeds or without??? Tanks
wish i could have seen the consistency of syrup when done. my hubby made some and it is watery consistency, not like syrup at all. thanks for wonderful video
I tend to let my syrup get really thick. You can always water it down if it's too thick by adding a touch of water and heating it up. Nothing better than warm fruity syrup. I have a video on canning blackberry jam which shows the consistency for syrup. I do the spoon test which tells me when it's ready. Hope this helps. th-cam.com/video/1Vwx4iycsxo/w-d-xo.html Thanks for stopping by. Lisa
@@LisasWorld100 Thanks I had used a different recipe, and wanted to make sure yours was really syrup before I tried it again LOL I wanted syrup not jelly. ha ha ha so I'm guessing yours was syrup
Aw thank you so much. I didn't know if the concentrated bottled juice would be too strong..if it works for canning, I'll be sure to buy some :). PS, You're very good in your videos - I wonder if you have a teaching background?! Kind regards, Sooz x
I taught corrective hair color for Redken for 2 years but not a teacher in a school. My heart is for teaching people how to be more self sufficient by growing and preparing healthy foods for their family. We never know what will happen tomorrow where we might need to rely on our own gardens to survive and I hope people are educated enough to be able to do it safely if we don't have computers to rely on. Even a truckers strike could cause the stores to have empty shelves. Look at Venezuela. That's enough to hopefully make some people understand the importance of knowing how to preserve foods.
Thank you. Your passion comes across on camera very well. It's great that you use the TH-cam platform to help to educate us all. I appreciate it - I've got a lot to learn :).x
Didn’t you hear she wants the pulp to make blueberry butter so she would need to do this process however I prefer juicing bags rather then cheese clothes
I admire how prepared you are before you begin! Thanks for being so clear!
Great step by step instructions, it looks delicious! Thank you!

That's funny! I love salads; what's wrong with these guys :)
Stick a potato and some meat on most any foods and a man would eat it. Without that they pass. lol

That just made me drool LOL Thumbs up!
Thanks for the support, Linda. I've been waiting on the blueberries. It was a loooong wait. :) Blackberries next weekend!!!

How much water did you use?
Do you have to use the cheese cloth? I want the chunks of blueberries in my syrup.
No, if you prefer the berries and seeds just make sure you use very ripe berries. Those still with red will be bitter. Thanks for stopping by. Lisa
Can one make strawberry syrup like this as well?
Did you do anything with the pulp
What brand is your electric eye?
Did your syrup work? I made some but it was more like jelly it wasn't liquid.
julie selden sounds like it was heated a bit longer. You can add a tad of water and heat it to help make it pourable. Thanks for watching.

Looks delicious! Can I just ask, the bottled lemon juice - is it concentrated Lemon juice please? Kind regards, Sooz x
Yes, I use concentrated lemon juice when canning. It's the only lemon juice with an acidity level I can rely on. Thanks for stopping by Sooz. Lisa

Ah, 75 degrees sounds so good and so foreign to me :)
This was so complicated. Can’t you just blend the berries?
