Holy shit I thought I was going fucking crazy when I would fill up gas and only when I fill up my idle was a little weird and would clear up like the next day. Apparently it’s due to this purge valve
Just replaced mine this week. Seems to be running much better. Going to drive it for a couple days before putting the scan tool back on it to make sure the codes are not still pending.
I’ve had my car for 10 years 70k miles. I just now got this warning. I did not want to pay $300 at the dealership to get this fixed. But looking at this car makes me want to reconsider buying a new car and just dressing mine up.
@@totov7673 the engine light did go off. It the recall was in 2018. You should change it anyways because once I changed mine the fuel economy was so much better.
@@totov7673 also if you change it. Cut the tubes. You’re never using the part again. And this will help you twist the and take the locks off easier with the stem infront of the engine. Don’t knock it with a hammer! That piece is plastic!
Part I’m seeing on Rock Auto for 2018 Focus ST (913430) consists of 5 small parts and looks nothing like your part. Can you provide the link to the part you purchased?
You probably figured this out by now, but that is a kit to avoid having to take apart line. It should consist of 4 connecting joints and the actual valve, and you just take it apart at the junctions and replace those on the factory lines.
Hey i have a couple questions if ypu reset the ecu on your accesport do you have to reinstall your tune and also my accesport kept throwing the code for bank 1 sensor my upstream o2 sensor i fixed and i think it was the problem but im still getting negative correvtions in cylinder 4 like negative 1.3 is that okay my afr on wot is 11.5 and my oct adjust ratio is -1 im just curious on what resetting the ecu does.

While I had the manifold off I noticed there is a coolant line that comes from the coolant tank and runs somewhere towards the trans, well someone disconnected something and zip tied it to that line but I’m not sure where the sensor clip goes to you think you could help?

Great vid! It looks like your fog lights are on when you turn the car on, is there a mod you did to allow that? I always have to push the button when I get in. Also sounds great on the turbo-- other than the intake are you running the DV+ or any blowoffs or anything?
This is super late but adding for future readers. Technically speaking the re-call isn't a permanent fix. They do replace it and they adjust the ECU or whatever so that a CEL should pop on much earlier to let you know it is failing. However, it may NOT pop on if you notice symptoms early such as rough idle after filling up etc @@totov7673
It supposed to reflect heat from making the intake pipe hot and increasing intake temperatures but I’ve never tested it. Intake was used and beat up so I used the tape to cover it
It’s always on, but I think it’s one of the fault codes. You’ll know if you fill your tank and your car doesn’t want to start up. Lol I gotta feather the gas and keep the rpm needle above 1500 rpm for a couple of seconds.

Not trying to be rude but why have you not changed it? I just changed it for a second time in 3 years of ownership this morning. Took 15 min and $60 for the part.
I couldn't find one for my RS and went to AutoZone. They have better resources in finding parts. They had it ordered and arrived the next day to be picked up.
I would assume so. The pcv valve assembly itself is a little different on the RS but same general idea. Many people retrofit the RS purge valve in the ST to stop them from breaking

You don't need to remove the intake manifold to change the spark plugs bro. What are you talking about?

I have check engine light on for P144C code it says evap or that’s running rich but not sure ? If this is the issue

i’m not sure what that would be. might have to find a diagram and trace it back. but if there’s not an issue might not have to worry about it

Mines doing the same code with a P1450 code too having trouble when starting after refueling, just seeing if the purge valve fixed it for you

the injectors fixed it a little bit and then also had it returned and now it’s good to go
