With 0 mechanic experience I got an OBD2 device and got this done in less than 15 minutes. Solved all the issues. Awesome video and super easy to follow!
Also 0 mechanic experience. But had my step dad help me. He didnt have me remove the whole intake compartment. Just the part that is hose clamped on (the tube itself.) Seemed less steps that way.
Will say the thing that hung me up was not only does it use Freon 6-7x more expensive it comes in 8oz cans, and require a new set (the correct set) of gauges and tools to refill. Was able to do all the work myself and rent the tools, vacuum the line, do it all correctly and still cost me nearly 400$. Had it been the traditional 134a it would have been 60$. Be prepared!
This is literally the best car work video i’ve ever seen dude. I don’t even have this car, but now i might do this for my mother in law because you made it so CLEAR.
Thank you so much! I changed the purge valve in my 2013 Focus using your video, and your explanations were crystal clear. My car had error codes P2196 and P144A before, but now they are gone. The issue was stalling and stopping when filling the car, but now everything works as it should. Thanks again!
Many thanks for the detailed video. I did replace mine as well with the slight variation that I didn't remove the whole air filter assembly, only the large rubber trubing by removing the retainers in both ends. I couldn't pull the air filter assembly enough to get it to pop and was a bit afraid not to break anything. But it all worked out fine. Many thanks again

Ty sir. Made this fix painless. My issue arrose after a fuel injector cleaner treatment. *lucas oil brand*. Symptoms were rpm drop when slowing and coming to a stop and fuel guage reading more than actual fuel level. Thanks again.
Thanks for the video. I have a P046 code and just swapped in the new purge valve. I did snap off one of the two the plastic mounts on the bottom of the air intake box while removing it but fixed it with duct tape ;).
After removing the hose from the throttle body and ensuring that their is no debris in it either stuff a rag in it or cover it with a plastic bag to ensure nothing falls in it. Be sure to remove the rag or plastic bag and make sure it is clean before reinstalling hose.
Thank you for the easy to follow video. I knew nothing on how to do this but watched your video step by step and I did it. pretty easy. You are awesome
Saved me some money with this one. I changed this part with a new one and reset the check engine light. Drove it around a bit but the light hasnt popped on. I ran the diagnostic computer expecting to see nothing but the p0456 code saying "Permanent" even though everything has been running like new again.
Thank you. My dad's car showed this code a few weeks ago and I was trying to find a solution to a problem he had with his oil but I could not connect the two until I saw your video. When you mentioned the code P1450 the code seemed familiar and I quickly got my OBD2 reader and pulled up the history and sure enough same code.
Great video man! My check engine light came on in my 2018 ford focus and found out it was the solenoid and thanks to this video I changed it out in 5 min.

Glad the video helped. The purge valve shouldn't cause that code. You may need a low side fuel pressure sensor. I have a video on that, too. It's easy to do
@ Thank you for your reply! The issue was actually with the purge valve - after replacing it, all the jerking and shaking stopped. However, I’ll keep your suggestion in mind in case any other fuel pressure issues arise in the future. Your video was really helpful in understanding the problem!
Loved this video. Question. After I installed the purge valve I cleared the code but when I check my code reader there was a code for dtc definition not found. There is no code on my dash board, only the obd2 reader. Should I worry about it or just leave it alone?
Thank you! My problem was i'd be driving on the highway in the heat and lose all throttle and it would stall out, sending me to the side of the road. Still worried to take it out after replacing the purge valve, but do you think that should have solved it?

Dumb question. After I cleared the code and drove around I plugged the OBD reader again and it still gives me the P0456 code but the check engine light doesn’t come on. Anything else I should try?
@BigBensCarsAndCycles another question. You said at the beginning of the video that if I remove the clips from the sensor to the back side of the connector that I would be able to tell if there is a vacuum present. That won't mess up the engine right?
