Remembering the value of these internal organ target areas is excellent advice. Old school pugilism is truly a MARTIAL art. However, I totally lack confidence in my ability to punch, so I need to ask if a palm heel strike will also work on the spleen and liver, and even the solar plexus?
@ 8:25 do you think it would be a good idea to throw a left hook to the liver as you’re spinning to the side to set yourself up for that big right to the liver?
Tommy that shot under the left pec you’re hitting the ribs isn’t there a problem of damaging the wrist? In you experience how much force does it take to stop an adversary? Also would a shovel hook accomplish the same job?
Some technical questions if you would kindly answer: 1. When landing a blow “under the heart,” can you land in the general area just below the pectoral, or should you always try to land inside the nipple area ( closer to the centerline ) just below the pectoral? 2. When landing a straight rear hand blow to the chin, is the middle center point of the chin as effective a target as the side of the chin? Thanks very much. Greatly enjoy your videos!
I can't remember which channels, but there are at least two which discuss how bad modern interpretations of Kata tend to be and what was probably their real purpose...
while i enjoy your channel and the good content it provides, i don't appreciate the sometimes negative perspective you give toward asian martial arts from which the styles you demonstrate borrowed from in developing their styles as their philosophies of training are different in the way they incorporate the balance of training and life. that said, i like to reiterate that i like that you teach solid fighting strategy content.

Tommy Moore, do you know karate? It would be awesome if you can make a video on how karate was in the 1940s and 1950s.
Hi mate, Karate isn’t really my thing. But I have many karate friends. Check out sensei Steven Lowe and Simon Oliver. Both old school guys

When sparing with I like to fire out a snappy jab from the waist area, into their stomach (gut shot) gets a good reaction, when going bare Knuckle.
