Very good Video. One exercise I was introduced to was that as you go about your normal day. pick up everyday objects and get a feel for their weight, balance, and axis of strength to "understand" them. The next step is to feel how they may be naturally gripped to weaponize them. This can be done with almost anything cups, ash trays, iPads. This exercise can be done anywhere and quickly becomes a habit where subconsciously you index and determine the usage modes of objects in your environment. It's always better to hit someone with something rather than your fist. If you hit some one with a cup and it breaks ...you still have your fist. If you hit some one with your fist and it breaks....you're in trouble.
This is great! just found your channel..looking for more resources so I will be checking out more of your videos. Love the idea of an everyday carry for this.
Rolled up tight magazine or new paper works great too..... And along with the book and phone there's the laptop.....and with the book/laptop dont forget the two-handed hammer smash to the face or top of the head! LoL
I have a folding scalpel with a number 10 blade, a Sakura fixed blade from Tu Lam of Ronin tactical, a coin cosh purse from Mean Gene leather cash and my SF coin.
Bartitsu is an obsolete martial art. It's far less effective than any modern fighting training. You random TH-cam watchers need to be aware and recognize that if you study it. A hobby martial art like bartitsu is still more effective than not training your body to fight at all. But anyone who watches these videos and thinks they're ready to fight is just asking to get hurt. People who haven't been in a real street fight might be intimidated by these tactics. People who are used to fighting or are on mind altering substances will absolutely destroy you. I don't know why every self defense video doesn't start with "run the hell away". However, I appreciate this guy actually trying to incorporate real things you might carry, and not an umbrella or cane. There is no reason to train with an umbrella or cane in modern culture. Well, unless you actually have a cane, which would mean you're in some way weakened, which this style does not account for.
Fine, Join your most proximal Guardian Angels chapter. It's one of the most extreme things you can do, ... Health insurance denied. MMA , Judo, ... lol bar fighting is a very unforgiving science. It's crude, but there's nothing wrong with that.
I feel like Tommy needs to do some research and find out what the law in the UK has to say about attacking people with weapons! Even the use of the bare hands can be highly illegal if you aim at the eyes or throat deliberately. It is classified as a grievous attack.. And encouraging the use of techniques like crushing someone's trachea, which he says himself can have lethal consequences, is utterly reckless.
You can use lethal force if it's reasonable to do so, which it would be if you had good reason to fear for your life. But you're not allowed to carry anything that is adapted for use as a weapon e.g. a tactical pen.
I’ve watched several of your videos and haven’t heard you say “umm”. Very unusual. Excellent speaker.

My uncle was jumped by two men in a hotel in Montreal. He was a smaller man but he defended himself with a rolled up newspaper.

Great video!
Easy and powerful concepts!
Thanks a lot, I'm a follower from today
Almost worth investing in a Fox's solid wood umbrella for the purpose. Looks similar to bataireacht but with the added utility of the crooked handle.
Look up unbreakable umbrella
@@junichiroyamashita I have one myself. Would recommend.

Great job I don't think I would use my phone
For ''Specialist umbrella's'' see KGB/Georgie Markov!
Also the news paper made in to a club
Hmm... sounds like a good reason to choose metal-cased phones instead of plastic.
“Don’t want to post the letter”
What do you when approached by a creep with a boxcutter, another common item that is deadly here in the States?
Surefire defender.
It's got a lot of reach.
I miss the belt, un every day carry, very very efective, included against the knife.
Un spanish prison officer.
The pen is likely to be illegal.
Higher audio levels next time, please...
