It’s 6 o clock in the morning and I already walked my 30 minutes, made my bed and drank my water with apple cider vinegar. Ready to take a shower followed by fixing my lunch and be ready for another beautiful day❤

I hope you have time to read this. I’m not sure why, but I just want you to hear me . I feel so marginalized now that I’m 85. Retired from starting a highly successful business all on my own with my own small amount of money to now feeling not seen, not heard, not adding to this world, just waiting to die. You give me hope and inspiration, which I usually give up on in a few hours, but I keep resolving to start over the next day.
    Thank you.

All those years of experience, you could mentor others. There are so many ways for you to be essential. Perhaps you could tutor some kid at high school who is having trouble reading or doing math.
Or escort someone to a medical appointment. Just go for it! I met an amazing 71 yo woman doing a diploma in Kinesiology the other day. What a hero! She wants to be productive and hellpful too, God bless! 🎉❤

Wow, this is so powerful. I’m going to listen to it again tomorrow and maybe the next day. I could cry because you have given me hope I am 64 and I feel like I have procrastinated the past few years of my life. I went through a nasty divorce.

Seriously Mel. You know why you are so popular, loved & appreciated?
Because you have been there. Because you understand. You are authentic, down to earth and you truly care.
When I listen to your podcasts, I feel you are in the same room as me and that you're cheering me on. That you are a straight shooter telling me what I need to hear. Your "matter of fact" way of explaining things to us is unmatched. Sometimes when I'm in the car doing errands and I've parked in a parking lot, it happens 9 times out of 10 that I sit in the car for another half hour before I walk into the store because I want to keep listening to the podcast.
I will be watching this again many times, and will transfer it to people I know.
    I am so appreciative Mel.
    Thank you 💖

We had a time change, for spring. And let me tell you waking up on time now feels like waking up 1 hour earlier. This morning I woke up before my alarm, got up, made my lunch, my daughter’s breakfast, pet my cats, didn’t brush my teeth, and crawled back into bed 😅😮… then 1 hour later I snoozed the alarm and got up 15 minutes later.
Needless to say, we were late to school and work. The hour and 15 min nap, was not worth it 🫣😫
Thank you for this video ❤❤❤

Ok Mel, I love this episode in so many ways! I started by thinking, well I never hit the snooze button because my alarm is my persistent cat who I cannot ignore, so feeding him is first. But. I do hit the snooze button because after pushing the button to make the coffee, I lie on the couch and sleep. I did not realize I was setting my brain into sleep inertia by doing this!
So, I'm going to do it your way, starting tomorrow morning.❤

I have to share. I'm feeling a lot better lately and I know it's at least in part due to this podcast. However I've ALWAYS had a dialed-in morning routine. Even at my worst times. I trudged through my routine every day even when I was having my most depressed months. It makes me wonder JUST how bad it was for me at that point, when even a spot on morning routine couldn't get me past my sh!t. All I know for sure is I'm really glad I'm not in that place anymore.

Here are 20 key takeaways from Mel Robbins' talk on creating the most productive day of your life:
    1. Behavioral activation therapy is essential for change: Start acting like the future version of yourself today to become that person.
    2. Morning routines are crucial: The first decisions of your day set the tone for your entire day, acting as the first domino.
    3. A productive day starts with a productive morning: A bad morning routine can lead to stress, procrastination, and negativity.
    4. Waking up with a purpose: You must wake up and create a morning routine not for the present you, but for the future you.
    5. Avoiding the snooze button: Hitting the snooze button is a form of procrastination and sets a negative tone for the day.
    6. Breaking the snooze cycle: Hitting the snooze button traps your brain in sleep inertia, making you groggy and less productive for hours.
    7. First promise of the day: Get out of bed immediately when the alarm rings to build integrity and discipline.
    8. The 5-second rule: Use the 5-second rule (5-4-3-2-1) to help you get out of bed as soon as the alarm rings.
    9. Making your bed: This simple act gives you a sense of accomplishment and sets a positive tone for the rest of your day.
    10. High-five habit: After brushing your teeth, high-five yourself in the mirror to encourage self-love, confidence, and momentum.
    11. Avoid checking your phone: Refrain from looking at your phone during your morning routine to maintain focus on yourself.
    12. Move your body and mind: Engage in at least 10 minutes of physical activity and a minute of mindfulness to set the stage for a productive day.
    13. Progress principle: Make small daily progress on important tasks to achieve big goals, as incremental progress leads to fulfillment.
    14. Forgive yourself for procrastination: Self-forgiveness reduces the likelihood of future procrastination and helps break the cycle.
    15. Identify stressors: Recognize and label what’s causing your stress to loosen its grip on you.
    16. Act like the future you: Make decisions based on what the future successful you would do.
    17. Procrastination is learned: It’s not about laziness but a habit formed as a coping mechanism, which means it can be changed.
    18. Perfectionism ties into procrastination: The fear of failure often drives perfectionism, which leads to procrastination.
    19. Start small to overcome procrastination: Break tasks down into manageable parts, focusing on completing one small thing at a time.
    20. Self-care and consistency: Gradually build up your self-care habits, recognizing progress no matter how small, to develop a new, productive routine.

5 4 3 2 1 never works for me to get me up i have delayed phase sleep disorder. i can get up walk across my room and turn my alarm off and get back into bed ALL in my SLEEP. Even when i do get up to the alarm i have sleep inertia for the first 2 hours. So as much as i love you Mel not everyone can JUST get up. When most people get up my body is pumping me full of Melatonin. I go to bed wide awake and wake up exhausted and there are millions of people out there who also have this but are just called LAZY or you have no WILL POWER.

Instead of hitting the snooze button, I set my alarm for 20 minutes before I really have to get up. So at 3:40 the alarm goes off and I'll shut it off, put on my glasses and just lay there getting my head together, facing the clock while "resting my eyes" until 4:00. The few times I have overslept, it's only been by 10 minutes at the most. It sounds silly, but it works for me.....
