I didn’t even know what palpitations are unless I experienced it 2 years back since then I was scared and whenever I used to think about it ,they appeared .I slowly recovered and started accepting it and it disappeared and guess what I have been getting ectopic beats since a week and I freak out and it occurs when I think about it ,feel like our brain give signals to the heart so the best way is to stop thinking about it 😭to everyone who is suffering from this I feel you and I know how horrible and scary it feels .
I have been to 6 cardiologist by now and I am 26 years old . Every doctor says that it’s in my head and I need to stay calm.
Folks they is a huge connection between our mind and heart . Let’s all focus on positive energy and hope we get through this worst phase Aameen.

It is definitely true to a great extent even though there are a lot of other things at play, its a well established fact that that mental (and physical) stress can greatly exacerbate existing predisposing factors which can induce palpitations; having a good diet, getting enough sleep and exercise is also equally important while being mentally positive and resilient

Your generosity with your time to do these videos amazes me! Nearly the entire profession of cardiology is setup that patients get 5 minutes of talk time for $150 minimum after an hour wait and nearly none of the talk includes ongoing patient management of PACs/PVCs beyond popping beta blockers. Granted that my cardiologist rightfully ran a myriad of tests to rule out any heart structure abnormality but beyond that, it's "next patient!". Your consultative guidance through these videos is sorely needed and is the ultimate TRUE expression of patient care!

Thank you. I never had these until a head on crash in 2016. I have worn the monitor even the 14 day one 3 times. Also #0 scored on my calcium test. Yes exercise makes them go away. I work out 5 days per week. 160 plus floors on the stair climber, 35 min elliptical or power walking including hills. Weights three times per week, and even push ups x100 at least 3 times per week. My cardiologist goes to the same gym. He asks me why I come to see him so often because my PVCs and PACs are benign. The problem is at night they become more frequent. I do believe mine are worse with different foods lack of sleep and stress. I have managed an addiction medical practice through the craziness of 2020, and also had a tornado severely damage our home. Lost some patients to overdosing, Covid and suicide over the past 18 months. Prayer is a big stress buster as well. So 2 head on crashes since 2014, (they were not my fault) and all the other events have left me with this condition. Oh yes my cardiologist said if they get "bad enough" he will put in a pace maker. I don't want to wait that long. I also believe theb pinched nerves in my neck and T spine contribute to mine as well. If I have to look down at my laptop or phone for long I can make more PVCS happen. I try to bring everything up to eye level. Many folks experiencing these just need a good support system. May GOD bless everyone experiencing these irregular beats.

I'm a gym fanatic and I tend to eat healthy, however last 2 months, I stopped exercising and was only eating junk food. While eating KFC I started getting short breath and heart palpitation, 2 days straight and onwards. I Visited the hospital and they ran an ECG test and doctors said nothing was wrong. I took it upon myself and started researching on youtube. I started back exercising today and while exercising I felt so much better but when I stop and lie down or sit still, the short breath and heart palpitation returns. I will continue exercising and continue eating healthy, I know the symptoms will soon go away once I continue to exercise and eat healthy.

I have been on Losartan hctz 100/25 for app 12 years. I am 6' 185 lbs and otherwise in good health. I have always excercised regularly..stationary bike and weight training. This week I went to an emergency room after several days of irregular heartbeat and weakness. I was found to be deficienct in potassium...the Dr told me the beats were PVCs. My question is how soon before I can start trying to excercised again. I have been taking prescription potassium for 5 days but do not feel 100% better yet. Still some PVCs. Thank you kindly if you will reply. All the best to you Dr Gupta.

I had an ECG for 24 hrs and was told that I had 7500 extra heartbeats that day and had some skipped beats. I was offered beta blockers or an operation. I refused both. I now take a blend of magnesium which includes magnesium turate and I cut of coffee, cola and alcohol.
My heart used to feel like it was going to beat right out if my chest but now nearly a year later they are mild in comparison. I have now taken up yoga which I do weekly ans will start increasing the amount of times I do it. The only thing left for me to so is quit smoking, although I have cut down significantly.
I believe the magnesium turate has helped a lot.
Occasionally they still get bad but nothing like this time last year.

Lack of serotonin is a cause of tight chest and therefore palpitations so anything that stretches out the vagus nerve in your neck and upper back can help with anxiety. Meditation and mindfulness during the day helps too. Set your watch so that every hour you do some mindfulness by just observing your breath. Increase your time of mindfulness during the day. Anti-depressants can also help by increasing available serotonin. Cold water swims also help with chest tightness and heart irregularities.

Dr Gupta- I had palpitations and PVCs last week, age 51. Was taking 5mg amylodpine at time. ER seen the PVC on EKG. No heart attack. Prescribed metroprol and referred to cardio. Cardiologist ordered echocardiogram that was insignificant. Reg stress test was started and stopped because PVC detected and increased with exercise. 2 days later had nuclear stress test assisted with the chemical stress test because once again PVCs detected. Results came back and cardiologist said everything looked fine but to stop the amylodpine and metroprolol and prescribed lowest dose Bisoprolol HCTZ. I cannot take beta blocker. I feel I’m too active and the slowing of heart rate leaves me dizzy and light headed and feeling out of sorts. After 1 day of the Bisoprolol, I switched back to 10mg amylodpine at bed time. Vitals have been good. No more noticeable PVCs. Dr said wants me to do 1/2 of the Bisoprolol no amylodpine. Why? If my test were fine? Also. I had painful lumbar steroid injection both sides 1 week before the PVC. Do you think they might have contributed? Thank you sir.

Then a Dr said, sleeping in daytime and excercising in the night will shorten my life, since it taxes the body each time it starts everything up. Quite logical, but i am stuck: shall i risk dying of lack of sleep or early from doubling the number of sleep/wake cycles?

Thank you for the video! I was diagnosed with PVC’s in March of this year after changing my lifestyle and losing 60lbs. My GP sent me to cardiology after failing a calcium channel blocker and beta blocker both. Cardiology strongly suggested we not treat them medically and I just deal with them because the burden on the holter that was done was low. I eventually got a script for a different beta blocker to try, but I’m still super frustrated. These extra beats are relentless and I feel like both my cardiologist and GP think I’m nuts for wanting to treat them. Has anyone else experienced this?!?

Beyond a certain point unfortunately almost no doctor wants to take up recurring patients with suspected idiopathic disease, sometimes even if they want to they might not be able to due to constraints and protocols though that is just my assumption; so the only course of action you can undertake is discussing your history with a different doctor but again you will have to probably go though the same set of diagnostic tests however at least that will reassure you if the results are similar and consistent while ruling out plausible misdiagnosis

I've read and heard that some people have 20,000 pvc's recorded while wearing a 24 hour heart monitor.... The heart beats 100,000 times in a 24 hour period..... I couldn't imagine having that many pvc's in a day.... I would go insane.... I will go a few days without any pvc's.... But I have about 20 on a real bad day.... usually when I'm stressed... have had little sleep... little food to eat that day... etc. I have to admit that when my life is going well.... My pvc's are few... But when life isn't going well....They are more frequent... I believe that my palpitations are 20% mental/stress.... and 80% physiological... I just want some answers... what has caused my pvc's since I was 19?? I get those ectopic beats very frequently.... Is it hereditary? Is it diet? Is it mental? Is it a electrical problem? Or all the above????? I'm seeing a therapist.... But the cognitive behavior therapy only seems to help while I'm at the therapists office... once I leave her office... I have symptoms.... it's consumed my entire life and thought process.... I had a very bad stomach virus last may... and ever since then... My anxiety ... depression... and heart issues have been through the roof.... My GP looks at all my blood work and says "You're fine.... Go see a phyciatrist" That really pisses me off... To be basically ignored... And not be taken seriously... Doctors these days just see you for 15 minutes and hurry you out so they can see the next patient.... Not really caring about your health concerns... it's very discouraging.....

This post was 5 yrs ago and not sure if you still have this problem. I've been going through it for a few months now during my H pylori infection. It started with thumps in my stomach and I would have palps and pvcs, this happens via the vagus nerve. My emotions would also cause them and I would be completely sensitive and my sympathetic nervous system would overact to everything. Also moving in certain patterns, picking things up, twisting and over exerting myself would cause them. This all stems from the gut. I got on antibiotics and finished a little over two weeks ago but still waiting on results from stool test if I'll be needing another dose. 95% of heart issues relating to palps snd pvcs come from the gut in connection with the nervous system. I even get pvcs and hesrt racing if I'm constipated and pushing too hard. Vagus nerve also connects to rectum. Heal your gut and relax your nerves if you want to calm your heart. Many doctors overlook the gut, heart and brain connection. Our gut is our second head, but it causes more issues than our primary head. I would rather consider our gut our primary head. Eat clean, identify your food sensitivities, exercise moderately and take your mind off your heart issues if you've gotten checked out and cleared. Most importantly get good rest and don't stress. Reduce or eliminate coffee and slow down on alcohol if you consume it. They will go away the better you maintain your digestion and psychology. Hope this helps and god bless. Wishing you all the best.

You seem to understand about the exercise making the palpitations better, less. I've had trouble convincing doctors that I need to get up and exercise to make my palpations improve. Now with more exercise, and the improved pumping of the heart; taking the electrolytes, I'm not sure I even needed the pace maker. We'll never know, but I've had no end of problems having the pacemaker. Broken leads, and procedures to repair them. Now the Atrial lead is disabled, and the ventricle lead is on it's own. My question is, "What happens if the ventricle lead breaks again?" All the doctor would say is that I would pass out and the heart would beat at 30 bpm. How would it know to do that? It's hard to think of the right questions to ask in the office.

I get it, the heart's only main job is to pump blood and sometimes the process gets interrupted and we feel this interruption. I suffer from pvcs and i get them during, before and after exercise and done everthing I can to eliminate any sort of possible causes. More and more people are getting irregular heart rates and it is true due to the western lifestyle. I am still here and healthy and keep working out but oh boy there are times my pvcs are just as worse on any day and I have to sit down and relax. I am not eligible for an ablatio due to pvcs are only about 20 to 30 a day and I have to have at least 20,000 of these pvcs to be eligible for an ablation. Plus, you cant just have an EP ablate this. I am only worried about them due to a potential predictibility that these irregular beats may translate issues with the heart in the future as you get older.
