- As humans, we all have ties to certain aspects of our identity. In this talk, you will hear of the traumatic injury which changed Cole’s life forever and his journey to find a new sense of self. It was not until he “flipped the switch on ability” that he learned how to truly love himself and learn to be loved. Along with Charisma, his partner, they acknowledge that the challenges of a interabled couple are many; instead of being scared away, they embrace them. This heartfelt talk will change the way you think about love. Since the start of their relationship Cole & Charisma gotten a lot of questions about how they make things work as not only an interracial couple, but an interabled one as well. There are certainly differences, and despite them they have a great time, all the time! They started Roll with Cole & Charisma, a video series on TH-cam, to bring people into their lives, their relationship, to answer some questions about how they navigate the world with some of the behind-the-scenes stuff people typically don't see, and hopefully raise awareness surrounding accessibility and dating in a wheelchair. They’re all about positivity, inclusion, and keeping a great attitude no matter your circumstances. Charisma is absolutely stunning ... so beautiful inside and out. She is so sweet. Cole is cute, adorable, really genuine, and has a big heart. You guys make me happy :')
His story telling and stage presence is magnificent. You could literally visualize what was happening based on the vivid descriptions he gave. What an angel she is to have chosen this life. To give up so much to honor, love and take care of someone who will likely need most of your time, every day, for the rest of your life. That is a soul worthy of praise. May God completely heal your body and complete your miracle. I pray that those who want to, will soon be able to walk again.
God WILL heal, if not in this life, then **more importantly, in the afterlife. I’m a mom of a C5/6 quad, injured at age 15....These two souls are both going straight to heaven!

I can literally sit on my couch and watch you guys all day, this brings me so much joy it makes my heart smile , my son is also paralyzed waist down with a SCI i just pray he finds someone just as caring and understanding as Charisma is to you Cole, you both hit the jack pot. I notice how Cole smiles when he's looking at you while you speak, thats real love, i love you guys and the positivity you stand on, keep it up Gods definitely proud of you both.
ME I WATCHED THIS 4TIMES ALREADY EACH IT STILL GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS SO I LEARNED SOMETHING EACH TIMES.... BECAUSE I AM PERSON WITH MULTI DISABILITIES.. I know I just recently came across their channel and I tell you I have been watching it for hours when I am working . I love 💕💕♥️🤗🥰 love them both . Sometimes my eyes are filled with tears but most of the time I have this big smile on my face. Charisma and Cole, a big hug and much love from Canada 🇨🇦

Thank you so much for speaking to a very important subject. I had been married with 3 kids before I became paraplegic. I had a great marriage before and dealing with disability only made us stronger. Be blessed everyone, I pray you guys have a long, happy marriage.

Unfortunately there are people in the world who think that Cole's brother did him a great disservice by not killing him. They think that suicidal thoughts after a life-changing injury are perfectly rational rather than emotional and should be respected. Thank God that Cole's brother wasn't one of those people.
Had a friend who dove head first off of a dock into the water, intoxicated. He hit right beside the steps leading into the water that was a bit more than a meter deep, but luckily he flipped just in time and hit his shoulder on the floor. We were all so mad at him, but we were lucky that he only had a bruised shoulder, not a broken neck.

You are both sooooo intelligent. One can clearly see that you both were meant to be together. This should serve as a reminder to everyone that we should never ignore the right person for us just because of that person's disability or physical looks. Sometimes we need to look beyond the physical. Never judge people because of how they look. They might be that missing puzzle you need to make your life whole. Love you guys. Please continue to be there for each other. May God continue to bind you both with unbreakable chords of love.

Be carefull about what you say. Some ppl will not walk again and it's hard enough for them to accept that. They don't need other ppl to make them feel like they absolutely have to walk on their feet to be humain.
@@JohnDoe-gf5gm True! I’m a mom of a C5/6 quad and it’s not about wanting or trying to walk, minus a miracle! Most people just don’t know enough about spinal cord injuries, we can help educate.
Regardless, Coles life in a wheelchair appears already more meaningful and joyous than many who are walking! Heck, look at suicide rate- in people who CAN WALK!

This is an amazing TED talk. I love how it started with just Cole and how he introduced Charisma. They are so easy and smooth talking to an audience. There chemistry and connection is palpable. The message of how do you navigate through the struggles in your life is real for everyone.

Love watching their videos. And I enjoyed this one. I woke up this morning at 4:30. And can’t go back to sleep. I am 2 time cancer survivor, been thru multiple surgeries/procedures. Chemo and radiation. Nov of last year I had a kidney removed because of it stopped working due the chemo/radiation. I also have an ilescompty.
I struggle every day to be positive. This video reconfirms that I have to be happy and content with the new me. I will focus on doing more with my family and grandchildren. Thank you for this wonderful video

It was miracle because neurologist whi checked him told me he will never walk. That day I really cried. My husband was very jolly minded inspite of physical problems always smiling and laughing. I just prayed God heal him.Dr ganguli very often visits America. If possible just meet him. I have firm belief Cole will be alright and walk.

I could just hear the resounding words of mom saying isn't that unsafe) currently still have an invisible disability and so, I was thinking the same and youre right, was to look at what I can do versus what I cannot. I entirely enjoy a camera so we'll see... there are gifts that I have learned from my condition that perhaps I can use.

Way cool! AND I love the way y'all look at each other! Funny I heard this today. I am grappling with changing careers. It took 8 years of education and another group of years of training to become what I am, however philosophically, I am struggling with remaining the course. I have tried transforming my career now for about 3 years, unsuccessfully. Now I am considering making a major change. My career is forged in my identity and I have spent so much of my time, money, effort etc to get to this point, just to change. I like what you said about embracing abilities, not trying to be someone you WERE but being someone you ARE. Funny, I thrive on growth and when a growing opportunity presents itself, I struggle. A life changing opportunity presented itself to you and you have taken it in stride. I admire your transformation. I needed a good sermon today...thanks!
I struggled from the opposite end of the spectrum. I had little education and wanted to do better for myself and have a better career. I got a degree and changed careers. And, while I still have a ways to go, I'm much happier and fulfilled and don't miss my old life. I know you had a lot of training and education, but if you're not happy, then do what makes you happy. Because I am the first in my family to accomplish what I have done, and because it has earned me quite a bit, my family network are not necessarily on board, and I am connected to family in such a way, I am involved in family financial goals and financial support where the prospect of not being financially successful is weighing heavily in my decision. This is definitely walk by faith and not by sight decision. As I ponder the best way to transition my career, feeling a lil discouraged, you gave me a word of encouragement. I 'preciate' you!
Wouldn't call this a sermon (as a sermon is what an ordained preacher or minister of God delivers/ an explanation of God's word/Bible). This was more of a motivational speech.
