I just added a 2GB module to replace the one GB module on this machine in 2023 . If you run Linux on this machine it’s perfectly capable machine , picked Ram for $10 new battery for $20 and now have a great laptop 👍

Not sure if there is 4GB DDR2 sodimm RAM. I have only seen 2 GB as DDR2 is kinda old.
But if there is, i’d try, the worst it can can happen is either it wont turn on or it wont fit.

I upgraded this laptop to 8gb of ram and it works. The only issue I have is that my touchpad is no longer working. What does the touchpad cable underneath the hinge cover plug in to? I see the cable on mine but it is not plugged into anything?
I'm sure you've solved this by now, but for anyone who has this problem in the future, the connector for the touchpad is along the left side, near the center. Make sure you completely plug that in and you'll be good to go. (I had to dismantle mine to clean out the fan and did this myself. Fixed it in minutes.)

@@arbitraryoutputvariable the little blue nub on the keyboard also doesn't work. Thats connected to the keyboard though so you think the problem could be something else? The keyboard does work
@@arbitraryoutputvariable I figured out what you were saying. I was looking at the wrong piece. It's underneath the top lid for anyone interested. I fixed it now. If you have a lightning bitcoin wallet I'll send you a few bucks. You can download breez app on your phone if you don't have one. It's very easy.

Hi, can u say me witch tipe of rams you used for the 8gb upgrade? i have d630 with A19 bios wind 7 64bits. Please tell me if you put ddr2 or ddr3 and if you put 1.8v rams or 1.5v rams thanks a lot levi

In the case of the laptop in the video it has a 32 bit processor, this means it only support up to 4 GB of ram. I used DDR2 SODIMM Ram , 1.8 V

@@MyITWorkshop Sorry, that's a 64bit Processor. It's a T7250 like mine and my D 630 runs with Windows 10 Pro 64bit and 8 GB of Ram and with a 240 GB SSD. And it runs fantastic!!!
