- As a Rolex man, I find it hard to wear anything other than my Submariner. But I also appreciate beauty, classic design, and toughness. So wearing this G-Shock is a dream next to my Sub, and I think any collection including watches from brands like Rolex, Omega, Patek Phillipe, Vacheron Constantin, Cartier, Audemars Piguet, and even Richard Mille, can also include this G-5600E.

My g-shock 5610 is more durable, more accurate, and gives me more happiness than a rolex ever could.
Hell yeah. Simple, classic, functional, not expensive and it’s reliable.
If I was a billionaire, this would still be my main watch. Comfortable, reliable, beautiful (I think), and tough as nails

I have many G-Shocks but my DW5600 will always be the one since it is the genesis of the brand which ALL other models refer to.
Fortunately, I only like digital watches and the G-Shock 5000 series are my "collectables". The G-5600UE, is my daily beater and it's a great watch for the price. The solar charging was the selling point.
I watched a video from a real special forces guy who said when he switched the battery on several Casio watches they always fogged up-losing water resistance. I use the atomic clock feature on my Casio’s to set my mechanical watches-solar is the way to go 😎!
Might be because the repairman doesn't realize that you need to change the gasket/oring or at least put some silicone grease around the tracks and backplate
It sounds like moisture was trapped inside the watch. Ideally you need to remove as moisture as possible when you change the battery.
Just buy the full metal square and you have a watch that is built like a Rolex, weighs the same as a Rolex, and has Bluetooth, Multiband 6, Solar, and is truly set and forget and just wear it forever. A couple of additional benefits are that the buttons are slightly bigger and easier to use and the calendar can be set to display the date in European format.
There is no worry to use the backlight as the battery is as gd as perpetual.

The display difference is unique to your two g shocks. My solar square g shock display is brighter than my dw5600 standard model
Im using g5600e for more than five years. Its perfect with my field of works. I drop, submerged with water, even used on dusty environment without any issue. I just send it on service center recently to changed glass due to welding sparks that make the glass ugly. Im satisfied with this watch theres also an option if you want to mod it to metal g theres available kit that you can use

Great review. The case of the G is Not exacly the same as the DW. It is slightly wider with a little less lug to lug which on my wrist is very noticeable when wearing.

Is it hard to find adapter for strap replacement? I read in a website the lug width is 14mm different from other g shock which is 16mm, can you confirm this?
The G-5600E auto-calendar only goes to year 2099.

I notice with this Watch it has an " option" to " Turn on & off" the Power Saving Mode?😳 Of course anybody wants their Watch or gadgets to Save Power to extend their Battery Life💪🏼 So why did Casio made that " Option" to not to Use or use that Power saving mode 😆 hehe

What is the different g5600e and g5000ue?
@@touchmenottmn5145 - iIn G5600UE the watch has time display in stopwatch mode and countdown timer mode. In G5600e it’s not there.

Common misunderstanding about quartz module is they don't last very long. They do.
Now, try wearing your Rolex everyday as a beater and see how long it'll last.
I agree, people generally don't think quartz lasts as long as it does, but still, it's not eternal. Mechanical watches are potentially eternal (with regular care and service).
@@DrRolexPhD mechanical watches require parts to be replaced and over its life time could include many expensive parts. quartz modules can also be replaced if you have sentimental value at dirt cheap prices.

I bought Casio G-Shock G5600 E solar powered. Too Bad. But it is really bad at water resistance. After purchasing Within 3 or 4 months of normal usage NO EXTREME SPORTS, NO SWIMMING, NO DIVING, it had fog and water vapour inside obstructing the time view. Too bad.
It did not have any good quality water proofing mechanism. It's having water droplets again inside the glass even after repair from Casio service center.
Really Disappointed with Casio G-Shock. Pathetic quality.
