Of all the Rolex that l have owned, over the course of 20+ years, which includes many of the popular ones, this is among my favourite.

@@watchat888 no, l just enjoy playing with watches with my children. Half of my collection are vintage, most seiko/gs/ks. They are interesting and fun. I don't get too serious with watches. That's why I only enjoy watching videos of people who enjoy watches rather than trying to impress others with their knowledge.

This Rolex Air King in 904L stainless steel is the best value and handsome piece from Rolex Professional Series. The Yellow Rolex crown, green Rolex lettering and green second hand give the Air King its uniqueness in the family.
Got mine one year ago, and absolutely love it, it’s got character, looks depart and not everyone wants one, making it in my opinion even more of a special piece. Great review btw :)

I just bought an Air King 116900 and your right it has character and its a clean watch. I like the Submariner but everyone in Miami has one.

Also great value for someone who is working class likes me and can stretch past a perpetual into steel sports.the clasp shows it is a great rolex.not generic at all

For mine last yr. was t that hard to find since 3 dealers called me but now of course impossible to get you’d have to pay 3 k over retail to get it in near new condition. I love it
There is a high possibility that it might get discontinued next year. So better be on your guard 😅
I prefer this model over the new model. This stays true to the vintage airking design instead of having crown guards, albeit it is slightly thicker. I can deal with it being thicker but not with the change of looks.
Yes I too prefer this over the newer model. But I'm sure there are people who prefer the crown guards look, which is fine. To each his own.
Nice review, love mine. If you have a bigger wrist this looks way better than an Explorer 39 due to the extra presence and pop of colour. Busy in photos but not in person like you say.

@@bradhepditch7605 I would go for the Explorer for several reasons. 1) I can't really relate to the Milgauss. I find the coloured sapphire to be a little old fashion for me. It reminds me of the old chines glass windows that has that green on the edge...lol. 2) The Airking and Milgauss are actually the same watch save for the aesthetic. 3) Although the Explorer does not have the same anti-magnetism of the Milgauss, it does have better parallax shock absorbers. 4) I think the Explorer is a more popular watch and can either hold its value or appreciate better. Its just a safer choice. Thats just my view.😅
@@watchat888 Thank you for your opinion, I really appreciate it. I'm leaning towards the Explorer, I was at my AD yesterday and they don't even know when they will get in another Explorer. They don't even know if the 39mm will be available anymore...40mm would be fine but hopefully not any larger.

I've got a feeling that they might discontinue this next year. From what I heard, a lot of the grey market dealer are also stocking this one up 🤔 Imagine if they really do discontinue this...omg. But Rolex being Rolex they always like to surprise us. They might just probably change the 3, 6, 9 to have chromolight like what they did with the Explorer 1.

It is pretty cool isn't it. I'm wearing it with my rubber strap now. I use to think that the steel bracelet look better but the rubber strap is slowly growing on me now.

It's kinda difficult to find that now. You mind have to consider pre-own or the grey market unfortunately.
I own one but wish the dial wasn't as busy..... It is not an everyday wearer for me....to busy. I prefer my cartier santos, seamaster or aqua terra for week days

I have an aqua terra also. It’s as close to perfect for everyday wear I’ve found.

Thanks buddy. This watch has a lot of character yet simple because its a time only watch. One of my go to watch.
It’s the second hand bargain of the Rolex steel sports range mainly as nobody wants one. It is well made and is basically a brushed steel Milgauss with a mess of a dial. If you can bring yourself to love it it’s a lot of watch for the money and very well made, virtually bullet proof. One advantage is the brushed steel over the scratch magnet Milgauss. I know. I had a Milgauss. It had to go with the marks it picked up on a daily basis. It may get discontinued as it isn’t popular which would add to its value over time. Don’t like thick head heavy watches? Stay away.

Coming from an Omega Planet Ocean, it's neither thick or heavy. No idea what everyone is complaining about. It's one of the smaller and lighter watches I have owned, outside vintage watches.
In my option this is one of the watches that Rolex should have kept in the $3500.00 range. It’s definitely not a $7,400.00 watch regardless of what the market states. This could have been their constant entry level watch that anyone could afford. I’m only assuming because I don’t know for sure, but at $7,400.00 I couldn’t see them selling a ton of them.

It’s a great wear, and I know it gets some heckling, but, when you realize what it’s supposed to be, and how they used inspirations from other places for the font, etc, it’s really cool. It’s Rolex’s Type A Flieger. But, it’s also a sport watch, and a great everyday wear. I was born in 69, so I dig the reference (116900), and I’m a King Air Pilot, so the decision, for me, was sealed a long time ago. Thanks again!

As he says, you have to see it live.....it’s actually an amazing layout on the dial....the hour numerals and minute numerals take turns appearing as your wrist rotates.....
Luxury sports watches at the lower price point will be derided out of principal for fanboys who havnt even seen it.great wstch.if I ever get a rolex this is it .Love the explorer but this is more modern and has character imo.

It also has nothing to do with the iconic Air King that Rolex made for many years, which is another thing that many people find annoying- give it a new name, not the name of a watch that has nothing to do with it.. But if you like it, that's all the matters. Enjoy it in good health.
