Red Hot Chili Peppers and Hot Ones, unite! Let us know what other rockers you want to see on the show...
Jon Bon Jovi would be a great one
Corey Taylor, Lars Ulrich
You want Crazy, Seanie Boi? You want CRAZY?! Well then, how's about you stop being a Coward and *BRING ON PEWDIEPIE RRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE*
Anthony Kiedis ✨
The band White Reaper or the band Greta Van Fleet
Flea just seems so genuinely open to life and stoked to be here. Beautiful human. This is an all-timer episode for sure.
so true.
Losers..
You should cover a Chillis song
One of my top three guests honestly and I am not even that big a fan of RHCP
JUST SO YALL REMEMBER....RHCP is a poor man's Faith No More
The moment Flea stopped mid sentence and thanked him for reading his book was so cool. He looked so genuinely touched.
He didn't read it tho. He has a team who does, picks out excerpts and feeds them into the question script.

This is one of my favourite episodes ever! Flea is such a legend. Also, he's 61 years old and has THAT hair style, not giving a f***! Awesome

61 and still immature.

Man, one minute he's talking about music and math, and the next he's got kid energy going. What a guy Flea is.
He's still got a lot of that Wild Thornberrys Donnie in him.

Sean has to be one of the greatest interviewers ever. Absolutely.
Watching Flea deal with pain is one of the most hilarious things I've witnessed in recent years! The howling, the gibberish, the scatting, the personal questions! If he wasn't doing an interview, I imagine he might have started doing gymnastics! Anything to ignore the pain until it drops to a more tolerable level!
The gibberish was pure Wild Thornberries Donnie. Love it. 😂
What an unbelievable eloquent human being. Flea is not only a legend but also a treasure. I think this is my favorite episode ever.
you were able to put two generic, worthless, generic cliches into a single sentence, so original and refreshing

@@slowery43this statement says mommy daddy didnt love me! Bet Flea still has love for you bro!
Yessssss
@@slowery43 A legend AND a treasure. You were able to use "generic" twice. Congrats all around!
The thing I've always loved about Flea is how when you see him perform, or even just in person, he dresses and behaves like a madman degenerate hedonistic lunatic. Then you speak to him and realize that he's highly intelligent and cultured. He's a mix of animalistic self-expression with the enduring pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. Just a super cool, well-rounded dude.
Not gonna lie, if I close my eyes... this sounds exactly like Hot Ones with Joaquin Phoenix's Joker
I was thinking of him like Walt Whitman, but the opposite in a way. Whitman wrote a poem I love about not understanding or enjoying the math of the stars instead basking in their being, but Flea took us on a trip of many sorts inside the sound waves stressing and resolving us at different speeds inside the vibrations of his bass. Learning and math shows us more of the infinite, of our ignorance and how amazing it is that it fits together, and then he talks about how simplicity too can resonate with message. And the way the dude handled pain, went to rhythm and bopped it out, centered himself, released his ego.
Definitely a dude to rival, to maybe be a Whitman for my generation. I remember going to a high school band competition where every single band listed the Chillies as their inspiration. A while ago now, but here he is still.
Because he wears his soul on his sleeve and never holds back, he's living a blessed life.
Came to the comment section to find this comment. Outwardly he looks very stand offish and a little crazy (for lack of a better term). After watching this my perception of him did a 180. What an amazingly down to earth, wholesome and amazing spirit this man is.
Its a part of being a true artist, talking from experience. And there are many musicians like this, Alice Cooper or Dee Snider from Twisted Sisters of the top of my head.
I saw this man on stage and I would have never guessed that he was so intelligent, articulate and such a wonderful human being. Mad respect for him.
The whole band is like that. Super interesting group of guys
He is a beast. Fleas last statements made me cry. He is right. Arts and Music are incredibly important
😂
Never really seen a Flea interview…he’s a cooler version of what I expected Flea to be…such a character. Seems so authentic
Check out his 60 minutes. He's amazing
Every interview, amazing.
Needles!
Authentic immature
There's an interview of him just talking about vinyl records he picked out (I wish I could remember the name of it) at a record store and it's one of my favorite musician interviews I've seen
Flea is the epitome of don’t judge a book by its cover. Unbelievably intelligent man.
Flea is _wise_
Absolutely, just because he looks like a circus clown doesn’t mean he doesn’t have regular thoughts.
I’m was very pleasantly surprised by that too.
Totally agree. Never listened to him before. Well articulated musician - especially when you compare to some people who call themselves "artists".
What’s wrong with the cover bro? Haha
This is a brilliant episode. Always loved Flea’s energy with RHCP, but his outlook on life and his positivity is just so inspiring. His reply to the last question speaks volumes of his humanity. Top top guy!
He gave a speech when I saw him live in Philly last year that almost made me cry,I think you can find it you tube
Flea is awesome, he's always been Flea. He has a child like enthusiasm and willing to just learn and discover while pursuing his passion for music. The dude is one of the best bassists in the world and went back to school to expand his mind, truly humbling, what a legend.
Flea is exactly what we needed him to be in this episode. Dude is legend.

I’m so glad you had Flea on. He’s not only a talented musician, he has a huge heart and the kindest soul. He’s amazing.

And he was Needles in the Back to the Future trilogy.
Flea is not only extremely articulate, he treats the language with respect and joy, like another form of music.
because it is ! : D
@@lifelesslilt I agree that language can be musical, lyrical, even melodious, when the speaker is erudite and respects the power and magic of words.

This episode was one of the most wholesome, pure, relaxing and compelling episodes in the history of the show, hands down. Perfect guest, perfect chemistry.
I’ve never been so excited, I clicked so fast when I saw it was Flea. And at the end made me shed a tear, what a beautiful soul.
Flea always has such sincere and chaotic energy. He really does light up a room and is 100% just himself and doesn’t care.
He’s always 200% himself!!! No apologies and I love it!!
I just love Flea! I could watch him all day
One of the most real and talented artists of my generation. Fantastic interview and I'm glad to see him share his memories and wisdom :)
Flea is so open to just experiencing life. Want to be like him.
I love how this episode wasn't about "Flea the RHCP bassist", but rather about "Flea the person". Great job from Sean and the crew, as usual. And Flea is just such a likeable and genuine person. Fantastic episode.
That’s why Sean will go down amongst the all time great interview hosts.
Yes! Sean is a master at putting celebs in a more personable light versus what they are doing in their career.
Couldn’t have said it better 💯
Why didn't they ask him about epstein island?
John Frusciante is my favorite guitarist of all time. At first I was a little disappointed that there were no questions involving him. Then I realized that this was all about Flea himself. And I appreciate Sean for having that restraint.
I’ve been a trumpet player for 40+ years, and I’ve never heard ANYONE articulate more perfectly the magic of playing the horn. Love it! And been a RHCP fan since the 80’s, and a Hot Ones fan since season 2… so this was a real mash-up of lot of my favorite things! I will probably revisit this episode periodically… indefinitely!!!
I would have to correct that the trombone is louder, but I also agree about playing brass instruments. I play euphonium and tuba.
That's what's up. This definitely was an all time episode for you. I love when all the stars align properly.👍
Without a doubt one of my favourite episodes to date. What a humble dude.
Love how prepared this interviewer is; 'm a teacher and stress the importance of preparation to my students...will be showing these vids to my kids.
The best part about this show is getting to learn about artists. I've never seen flea in an interview so I didn't expect him to be so eloquent. Very impressed with him and I will be donating to his charity.
Larry King once asked Flea, "If you could have any superpower you want, what would it be?" Without pausing to think, Flea said, "The ability to love unconditionally all the time." Best answer ever, period, full stop. ❤️❤️❤️
im 49 and in my teens i saw a interview with RHCP, Flea has always had an old soul. He came from nothing and music took him somewhere. Don't let Flea fool ya, he is a man well educated in life.
@DizzyD850 There was plenty of what I thought flea would be, but he is definitely more than meets the eye!

You need to see a Charlie Sheen and Kristy Swanson movie called The Chase, Flea and Anthony make it a cameo, they're hilarious.
It's interesting how this and Dave's episode bring such a calm and receptive vibe with such wisdom about how the little things in life are, in reality, the only things you want to care about. I Love these guys so much.

I’ve always been a casual fan of rhcp but have never watched an interview with Flea. I’ve considered him to be “that crazy bass guy” and am honestly so embarrassed about that after watching this. He is so eloquent and passionate about music and quite frankly, a joy to experience in this medium. Top 10 episode in my opinion

It's not just about the effort Sean and team put into the questions... it's also them understanding what types of questions their guest would like to be asked. They could ask Flea anything but they choose to keep it about the music which Flea obviously is most passionate about, it shares that passion with us viewers. 10/10
Quite possibly the best episode I have watched..Such a humble man
I am blown away by him, Flea is a national treasure. What a great human being.
Flea is an example of a man who kept that "child like" sense of wonder and passion and it emanates out of him. I hope be able to access that again , I think it is true happiness
What I love the most is how Sean just let's the interview go where it's going yet still maintains the questioning for each guest. Not many TH-cam videos can be 23 minutes or longer and keep people fully engaged the entire time like Hot One's Does. Bravo
That's what makes this show the best
I've never known much about the people behind the Chilli Peppers, but their music was a big part of my growing up. Crazy to see one of the minds behind them after all these years, and learn just how much they put into their music. Amazing stuff.
They are definitely a treasure. Especially if your from cali
Flea is an awesome baseplayer. And he also seems to be so humble and love what he's doing. Had been interesting to hear him share more.
What a cool dude, when Flea started talking about children not being able to experience art and music, it really got me. He's so right. It's so important for our children and humanity as a whole. ❤
Absolutely…the arts matter.
I think this is a key issue for today's society. At least in the west. The arts are like the bridges between science and religion. Now people are more split than ever because a lot of these bridges are missing.
Everyone, but children especially, benefits greatly from a creative/artistic outlet. Sometimes you need to say something you *can't* put in words.
YES!! I played cello in elementary school and was borrowing one from the school as we were low income. Halfway through the year they canceled the program and took the cello. They told me I could skip lunch and be bussed to another school for it but we’d have to buy/rent our own cello. That was out of our budget so I was put into regular band with the clarinet which I hated but it was given to me by a relative so I didn’t really have a choice. 😢
Flea is such a soft hearted punk puppy. I love him. Read his book and watched endless videos with him. This is one where he is able to say what he wanted and the interviewer is leading him and trying to get him to say something "cool" . Beautiful interview.

Absolutely amazing episode! Great as always, and Flea is a Top Shelf soul. And yes Red Hot Chili Pepper and Hot One, unite!
Flea comes in and instantly shows everyone that you can always choose path of positivity. He is one with the wings. Flea’s the goat.
The first time I saw a live RHCP show, Flea came to the mic at the end to thank the audience... He poured his heart out in appreciation to the fans for providing him with a means to live his dream of playing music. He went on to offer his support to any fan who needs anything... He went so far as to offer a kidney if a fan needed one and he was a match... I believe him... Flea is a real one.
What a beautiful interview. Very wholesome and interesting. Thank you Hot Ones and FLEA!!! what a legend through and through. wow, one of my favorites. I come from a music background and this motivated me. Much love.
One of my bass playing heroes, and such an insightful person. I love he classifies himself a humble student of love and his support for the arts in underserved communities
“I am flowing WITH the wings” man always keeps bringing smiles to my face all these decades later. One of humanity’s best treasures 😂❤️
Flea is open soul. Not confined by the generic "answer the questions and go". He goes into detail and he is so passionate about not just music, but art. Love ya Flea
TBH unlike most people who come on, Flea really has nothing financially to gain . BUT to be honest he's more of a real artist who did what he loved for love without having to get a 9-5 Prob similar to many .. what would I do with millions of dollars if I had food, place to live, did what I love ? Probably give it away 😂❤
This one goes down in history! One of the best episodes on the show! Great work bringing in the legend of Flea man!
I had such a smile on my face through this entire journey. And I can say honestly that this is the only Hot One's that actually had me shed a happy tear at the end. What a gem of a human.
What I've always loved about Flea is he always stayed who he was from the beginning, very genuine guy.
Which is amazing because Flea grew up in L.A., the capital city of fake people LOL
There will never be another Flea. That guy single handedly kept RHCP alive for us to enjoy now. Absolute legend.
I have listened to the chili peppers many times, I don’t know their deep catalog songs, but I know their top hits. Now saying this, I definitely should do a deep dive into their catalog. Flea is such a genuine guy it seems like, so down to earth, has a humorous personality and seems like an openly honest individual. You definitely can’t judge a book by its cover and Flea is definitely a great example of that. He seemed like he absolutely loved to be there on the show, he took all these sauces like champ!
THIS is why I love this show! I learn so much about artists and what is important to them. It's cool.

I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers in concert this year, and they put on a better performance in their 60s than most bands in their 20s. Genuine, unbridled passion for their craft. I loved it so much, I took a flight 3 weeks later to see them again!
I saw them in 1989 with their new (at the time) drummer Chad Smith and new guitarist John Frusciante. They were my little funk secret at the time, and i'll be honest....even though i loved them more than i could say.....i never thought they would appeal to the masses.
