I come back to this episode every once in a while - I think it's one of the best ones. Not only from the chemistry between Sean and Matt's standpoint, but Matt's answers are excellent and well thought-out.

That’s exactly what we did at the office when we bought the sauces. Every one of us did “da bomb”. We did it once and we flat out refused to ever do it again.

Nobody from actors been so vocal about film industry insights like Matt, and I guess this is also because he's the one who clearly has the script writing, producing talent and industry knowledge, this also is a talent that gets unseen. Great business mind.
This was hilarious! I'm glad Matt showed us a side of him as if he was eating at home. He seems to love liquids as he drank the entire pitcher of water and chewed all of the ice. He belched, sweated. swore and seemed relaxed enough to enjoy himself. I love this show!

sean really asks the best questions out of any interviewer/journalist I’ve seen. I think that’s part of the reason this show has gotten so popular and they’ve booked great celebrities- finally, refreshing in-depth conversations that makes us feel like we’re having lunch with friends. Bravo!

Easily one of the best interviews I’ve seen, he seems like such an intellectual and really loves his work. Reciprocated Sean’s energy really well too, I also really liked how into the taste of the wings he was!

It was a good interview but I don’t think he ever broke. He never lost his train of thought or gave any entirely off-the-cuff answer because he was so uncomfortable. So I would argue this was actually one of the worst Hot Ones interviews because making the guest uncomfortable so they give unscripted answers is the entire point.

Matt was absolutely off his game though, and idk that any Hot Ones interviews are scripted, lol. He's just used to being uncomfortable, and he's a storyteller, so this didn't phase him as much as it has others.

Damon explained why movies are what they are now clearer and in fewer words than anyone else I've heard. Seems like a great guy. I also like how he says he has to do it because Burr did. Guests doing it because other friends have like a challenge makes for a great show

I don’t know how accurate it is though. Sure, if you’re gonna cut a check for a Damon level celebrity it’s gotta be a big blockbuster, but there is a huge amount of room on the streaming platforms for less big name actors to play more intimate roles.

It unfortunately does not matter if streaming services absolutely have the capital to fund a $10 million or less indie project that might be amazing, because those movies aren't going to pull people to your site, or at least not enough people to make a difference in the revenue stream. Big, "amusement park" (Scorsese's words), blockbuster movies like Marvel, or insane sequels/remakes/casted films like the Irishman or Top Gun 2 will bring those people in, so why even bother spending the millions of $ in the first place?
(I am very aware that TG2 was not a streaming movie in the slightest, but just as an example of a major draw)
I guess I'm old school but I would rather own my favorite well made movies in DVD and Blu-ray than have 10 subscriptions to a bunch of different services... My movie collection keeps growing for cheap because people think it's old technology... this was a great episode.

The great thing about this show is the way Sean shows everyone in a great light and really humanizes his superstar guests. His questions are always great, his guests are clearly having fun, and it shows up in how excellent the end product of this show is.

One of the best things about this show is how it really humanizes celebrities. In which I mean it really lets us see what they are really like outside of their profession, it's great. Matt Damon seems like a nice guy, humble and very passionate about what he does.

I think he spent something like half a year preparing for the 1st audition. Enjoy someone using a proper accent was funny cause of how accurate was for me.

Sean is one of the best interviewers of all time. There is a reason why he is always complimented by his guests on his great questions.

I don't know why, but I love when the people who they bring on are fully aware of the show and the rules and everything. Seinge Matt question "Last Dab?" just made me smile. It's cool knowing they're already fans

That scene he's talking about with Ben in "Good Will Hunting" is probably my favorite movie scene of all time. (In my favorite movie of all time.) It's perfectly acted but it's also just so well written. I love hearing the story behind it.
Been watching this show from the inception and so glad to see that you are getting A-list guests now. You do incredible research and Sean has terrific delivery....even without the perennially hilarious da'bomb facials....this is the best interview show I see on TV/internet these days easily....
I love how Matt clearly prepared and knew a lot about the show.
Now the guest are also preparing for Hot Ones. Sean and the team have come a long way.

This show could singlehandedly take the place of the well known American talk shows, whether they are aired during the day or night. Sean has the best questions that I've ever heard come from an interviewer. He always surprises his guests with his questions and that always pleases me. Keep 'em comin!

at this point i'm convinced they just ask the guests to say something about how amazing his questions are...it happens too often for it to not be a thing lol
Fallon has a deal with these guys and does a bit on the show with people sometimes.
Sean is irreplaceable and can’t research guests whilst interviewing full time so I doubt it.
Simply, "Thank you Matt Damon, we love you!"

@@JennSCHWA but you see them eating the wings. It's like filming a martial arts scene in front of falling water - the wings show you that the passage of time isn't being manipulated. They're not getting guests to do multiple takes eating these punishingly hot wings. Sean is an excellent interviewer with a research team that knows his style and how to pick fun topics the first will want to talk about while they suffer from the heat. It's an extremely effective formula that they're able to put to great effect over and over. No amount of clever editing can make a boring interview as entertaining as pretty much every episode of Hot Ones.
Matt Damon is a class act! As usual, Sean did an awesome interview with amazing questions.
