It truly is the best part of the show. If it was just the standard movie questions it would have become boring a long time ago. Sean and the team do a tremendous job on research. Love it when the guests are impressed!
I actually met Josh Brolin at a film festival in Idaho. Absolutely amazing down to earth kind soul. I talked to him about how I wanna make movies and I had an idea for a movie that I wanted to work with him on down the road one day, and his response was, “Well I’ll see you then kid.” That gave me a lot of motivation
Right?? We've seen the toughest of men break and I was instantly curious how Josh would survive! I had no doubt he would make it to the Last Dab but, he's the kind of man who licks the PlaTe when something is THAT good! Dang!
Going the whole episode without a single question about the Avengers has to be a testament to the dedication you put towards the research into the guests, and we appreciate you for that. Thank you.
This was probably the best episode I’ve watched so far. Josh Brolin is a certified Cali boy, and he’s a super chill dude. Great friendly character. He could mash with anyone.
The schedule these people go through when they're out promoting movies is pretty intense. TH-cam shows are usually awesome for them cause it's way more loose, instead of journalists hammering them with personal questions.
I imagine they love the show because it's not just another interview with the same questions they've been asked a billion times already. MAJOR props to Sean and his team for staying original in a world where nothing new is learned from a hundred talk shows.
Have long thought Brolin was a stunning looker not to mention an excellent actor with surprisingly wide range given his rugged looks. But who knew he was such a witty man with so generous a spirit? This is one of my favorite Hot Ones. Bravo to you both. And your excellent crew.
Brolin is a legend for eating all the wings fully, double dipping the Last Dab, THEN licking the board that's still coated in it. Also gave a great interview. Probably in my top 3 of all time.
Josh brolin acting and clearly also his spicy wing eating skills are top tier. No country for old men is by far one of my top 5 movies, his calmness and decisiveness in the things he does really shows through in this hot ones conversation and helps me understand why his performance in that movie was so good.
From all the episodes i've watched, I like how Sean mirrors whatever the guest does to make them feel more comfortable. Whether it be breaking down and drinking the milk, stretching, whatever it is to help the guest experience the pain and the remedies as a group, even though he likely doesn't need it.

That instant feeling of pride when a celebrity compliments Sean's question. I'm here doing the dishes and smiling as I was the one who was complimented. Josh is so humble and cool. It's that kind of person you wish you were friends with.
Actually in a recent interview in REAL ONES when Shia LaBeouf tells that when he was on the edge, gun in his hand and have to call someone or this is it. Call'd Sean Penn, he said he is fair away in a movie shout, but he call Brolin and he will call you. Then they meet and Brolin come and helped him. (Look it up, amazing story.)

Honestly of all actors I’ve seen on here, Josh Brolin is the one who you could walk up to at a bar and just have a random conversation with. Much respect
My dad grew up in the same area as Josh Brolin, he told me to watch this one and I can't stop laughing because of the similarities I see between them. Josh seems like a really cool personable dude, he seems like a lot of fun honestly
Sean is one of the greatest interviewers of our time. He asks questions that are new to the guest so they are intrigued and don't feel like they've already answered it 50 times before. And the questions are based on something about the guest which isn't very known so it intrigues us the audience as well. He's literally doing an amazing job of making everyone interested and entertained including the guest and even the staff.
Well Morgan Freeman, Samuel Jackson and Christopher Walken, among many others have very distinct voices, as well. Completely agree, Josh definitely does have a very distinct voice! 👌
This show has redefined interviewing someone. They do their research, ask great questions and do so with genuine interest in the individual. Fantastic!
Josh is just the perfect guy to end the season with. He has a huge body of interesting work and has a great sense of humor to go along with for an interview.
I'm really getting to appreciate Brolin. He's becoming another Jeff Bridges for me. Two men with hybrid talents. Great character actor and leading man.
> I’m digging the fact that Josh ate the entire wing. As Bill Burr put it so well on this show: "Hey, chickens died for this" . I.e. if an animal died so you can have food, the very least thing to honour its sacrifice is to thoroughly clean your plate and don't throw anything away which is edible.
That Ethan Coen story murdered my abdomen. Still laughing about that. God, that is so funny. "Was it a joke, or did it make the movie better?". Hahahahaha!
Most people who do celebrity interviews, ask questions that they think the audience would like to be able to ask. Sean has a very different approach. He asks questions that he thinks his guests would like to discuss.
I literally read these very similar commentaries about Sean’s interviewing process every episode. I’m starting to believe there’s a Reddit group where you Sean Stans discuss Sean’s interviews and praise him like Jesus Christ himself.
You can just imagine every interviewer asking Josh about Thanos, so it must be so refreshing for him to not get asked about it finally and get interesting deep cut questions from his life instead. Hot Ones is the 🐐
Josh is literally the coolest, most badass guest this show has ever featured. I was already a fan of his work to start with but now my respect for him is over the moon. I mean who else licks up the excess hot sauce??!?!?!?!?!?
Gotta rep Texas and who none better than Josh freaking Brolin. Epic actor/ person (as I’ve already seen in this awesome show). That’s how I wanna be when I get older but Josh represents himself better than I could ever represent myself 😂
Ive never seen guests compliment the interviewer and the questions, and talk about how much fun they had like the way they do on hot ones. I dont watch a whole lot of interviews admittedly, but the ones i see are very much run of the mill. Hot ones does such a great job making sure the questions are unique and interesting and it makes for a better interview not just because the neat questions give is a new perspective on the guest but because the guests seem genuinely excited to answer them.
@Senna_Grillo 12 not sure he would leave his team behind. I wasn't too big a fan of the Hot Ones Game Show, there is so much more the HOs crew has to offer to national TV
Just listen to that discography, Brolin has been in some of the best films ever made, and he absolutely kills it every time. Absolute legend and such a wholesome presence.
Yeah I am sure they have to do press tours in which they sit in a room for hours being asked the same uninspired questions, so this has to be a breath of fresh air!
It's not just the questions, it's the also the delivery of the questions. I am guessing he rehearses them, since he was in advertising (i was in that world too, and you always rehearsed before pitches).
Brolin is the man. Just a straight up cool, down to earth dude. This one definitely goes down as one of my favorite Hot Ones yet. I always knew the guy was cool, and we all know hes a terrific actor, but this was the icing on the cake for him being one of the coolest cats in Hollywood.

Except I think he quit drinking😂
John Bernthal is in this club as well for me
My dad grew up in the same area as Josh Brolin, he told me to watch this one and I can't stop laughing because of the similarities I see between them.
He interviews people in the context of an organic conversation, yes questions are prepared but it goes where it goes.
Nard ward is up there bro
@@MrBealtes I second this, Nardwuar is shockingly in depth. I doubt it can be topped, but Sean looks like he's a strong contender.
@@MrBealtes came here to say this. Nardwuar is the GOAT of interviewers!
Gotta say I love his initial questions, but his followup leaves a bit to be desired. GREAT first question per wing, though.
"You're so clean."
"I might need you to spoon me."
This is an epic bromance.
We all need a Brolin...
"Do you still love me?" 😭
this might be the calmest, coolest “panic” i’ve ever seen
What a great dude.
he did snap half the universe once so...
sure!
True
You've never met him. I could tell a story that might change your mind.
@@boofert.washington2499 I could not care less. That’s a good dude right there.
@@boofert.washington2499 involve Diane?
Dude is the definition of “calm, cool, and collected.”
What did you expect. Dude is literally THANOS cuh 😂
No, he's a survivor
He has probably one of the most distinct voices in entertainment
@Brother Paul yes young K.
for me, he is llewelyn moss
Dude he is literally Jeff Bridges twin 😧
His casting for Thanos was literally perfect. That voice was amazing
Well Morgan Freeman, Samuel Jackson and Christopher Walken, among many others have very distinct voices, as well. Completely agree, Josh definitely does have a very distinct voice! 👌
David Attenborough
They're both such sweethearts, so lovely human beings.
Josh: "Do you still love me?"
Sean: "I still love you. I love you even more!"
Josh: "I might ask you to spoon me in a second."
I love both these men!
"I might ask you to spoon me" is the funniest thing anyone has said to Sean and I have watched them al,l Brolin was funny as heck..
Josh Brolin has officially moved from A-tier to S-tier on my “I wish he was my dad” tier list
I completely understand!
Daddy Brolin type beat
Thirsty
daddy issues?. Its okay, we are talking about Josh Brolin XD
@@eduardomen81 I'm sorry little one
I was NOT expecting Josh to be that cool. This is probably my favorite episode, so far.
Yes. So good!
@@debrapearson5100 1¹¹qQ
This ranks up there with Paul Rudd for me. #1 Rudd #2 Brolin
This dude soo chill
Let us bow before his grandeur
I love that Sean is so good at his job that people that
Have done thousands of interviews are actually impressed.
This show has redefined interviewing someone. They do their research, ask great questions and do so with genuine interest in the individual. Fantastic!
You should also checkout last meal from mythical kitchen. Very similar style of interview but a more in-depth emotional feel to it
Narduwar
@@Euphorium Yep, Narduwar since the 90s
Facts. Normal interviews just don’t cut it anymore
Narduwar changed that game a loooong time ago.
Josh is just the perfect guy to end the season with. He has a huge body of interesting work and has a great sense of humor to go along with for an interview.
😘😘😘
ok
I'm really getting to appreciate Brolin. He's becoming another Jeff Bridges for me. Two men with hybrid talents. Great character actor and leading man.
The perfect balance of rugged tough guy and laid back cool guy.
Same guy!
So THATS why he feels familiar.
he is that dude
Definitely Jeff Bridges vibes.
Man, Josh is pure gold. Everything about this episode is awesome!
Josh is an extremely likeable person, absolutely enjoyed this interview!
Josh Brolin's voice is just Asmr to my ears. God bless his soul.
I have a nice Voice too. Please hear my ASMR. If i eat ratbones its the Best Sound you will ever Hear for Sure.
Wierdo
I learned a new word! Thanks!
Me too bro
I'm afraid at any moment, he's gonna just snap his fingers.. and y'know
I’m digging the fact that Josh ate the entire wing. The whole thing. Every one. Killed it!
well, he said he was on some diet before, so maybe hungry, and he is big guy
@@piotrmitrega2765 🤣🤣🤣🤣
> I’m digging the fact that Josh ate the entire wing.
As Bill Burr put it so well on this show: "Hey, chickens died for this" .
I.e. if an animal died so you can have food, the very least thing to honour its sacrifice is to thoroughly clean your plate and don't throw anything away which is edible.
"if your gonna do it, do it!" ❤️❤️
Americans are weird about food. And completely disrespect it
That Ethan Coen story murdered my abdomen.
This is very true! You can always see how excited they are to talk about things that *they* are passionate about
I literally read these very similar commentaries about Sean’s interviewing process every episode.
Hot Ones is the 🐐
Josh: "Do you think I curse too much"
Sean: *laughs in Gordon Ramsay*
I have a lot of love for both of these men. Even more so after seeing how likeable they are while suffering.
Never seen Josh Brolin outside of his acting. wasnt expecting to love him so much he was hilarious
Josh killed it & was totally different then other folks. Kept his cool through the whole episode then licked the board. That's how you end a show.
His voice is soo distinct, too. It really carries him to another level.
Than*
Josh is literally the coolest, most badass guest this show has ever featured. I was already a fan of his work to start with but now my respect for him is over the moon. I mean who else licks up the excess hot sauce??!?!?!?!?!?
Man’s an animal!!😆
ok
Josh. Tough as nails.
Gotta rep Texas and who none better than Josh freaking Brolin. Epic actor/ person (as I’ve already seen in this awesome show). That’s how I wanna be when I get older but Josh represents himself better than I could ever represent myself 😂
@@sarahduran7616 . . . endeavor to persevere .
"I've never felt as clean as you look" so good
Also this man's voice is just liquid gold....with nails in it
Love this comment!
Accurate!! 🤣😎
@Resumindo Livros Inteligentes 🅥 smoking probably
@Resumindo Livros Inteligentes 🅥 about a pack of cigarettes a day
Josh Brolin is clearly in the top 3 of all guests for wing handling. He handled that better than just about anyone.
The DOUBLE Dab! Followed by a board lick!
I'd say he sits #3 behind Lorde and Halle Berry
Well when you snap half the wings out of existence before you even start, I'd say he had it easy. J/k
It’s that Texan blood 🩸
I’d like a head to head vs Elizabeth Olsen to decide the Marvel title
I liked him before, but Brolin jumped up the list after watching this. That dude seems like he could get along with anyone. Awesome personality.
"I've never felt as clean as you look." Well said, Josh.
Josh honestly seemed like the most genuine and funny guest to be on this show so far! Really enjoyed this episode.
Him and Paul Rudd
Definitely top 5 with Paul Rudd and Shia

Hot ones brings the best out of these celebs especially the quieter type
I was already a fan of his work, who knew he was so cool? I wish Sean had asked about the t-shirt.
"I don't ever want to do night time talk shows again" - The best compliment Hot Ones has ever received.
Total respect for the guests who actually take a bite instead of a nibble. Max kudos the the ones who EAT THE WHOLE WING!!! 🍗🐔
Fantastic interview with Thanos and you didn't even have to mention The Snap.
Yooooo!
Where you guys at?!
Dude has a huge catalog
Or the Goonies
If I watch this with my eyes closed it’s literally like an episode with thanos 😂
@@jeremyrfk It's hard not to hear Thanos in this
It is astounding how many celebrities are in awe of his interview questions. This guy does his research. He is much more than hot wings!
Yeah I am sure they have to do press tours in which they sit in a room for hours being asked the same uninspired questions, so this has to be a breath of fresh air!
His TEAM does good research work.
It's not just the questions, it's the also the delivery of the questions. I am guessing he rehearses them, since he was in advertising (i was in that world too, and you always rehearsed before pitches).
He isnt the one doing the research... hes the host that reads all the stuff that the behind the scenes workers research.
He probably has Nardwaur working part time with how deep some of the questions get.
This felt too short. Every now and again Sean interviews someone and I just want to keep listening to them talk. Thanks Hot Ones!!!
Cant even watch most of them. Brolin always has a way to make you want to listen to him talk
Would absolutely listen to a 4 hour long podcast of these two.
Josh is so cool. That gravelly voice is awesome.
Sean & his team deserve more credit, so many guests tell them "these are the best questions I've had", that in itself is an awesome compliment!
please stop
Easily a top 10 episode in terms of the deep cut questions.
Josh casually asking if he swears too much was the cutest thing ever. Like he genuinely wanted Sean's opinion
Hahaha yes one of my favorite moments in the interview
It's a sign of respect
Brolin is the man. Just a straight up cool, down to earth dude. This one definitely goes down as one of my favorite Hot Ones yet. I always knew the guy was cool, and we all know hes a terrific actor, but this was the icing on the cake for him being one of the coolest cats in Hollywood.
I had no idea he was cool. He comes in saying Tabasco and finishes with licking that huge dab off the board
