I heard Keith asked Jerry if he would help him move house after this interview.

That was the title of his recent biography as well! He has a sense of humor!
This shows how big TH-cam is. I actively look for every Jerry Seinfeld video I can and never found this one...and then it's randomly recommended to me today! 2 years later.

Midtown East, late 90s. Keith walks by and I mimic his Seinfeld line as he makes his move on Elaine "I'm (replaced with your) Keith Hernadez! Big smile and says you're right, quite amiable.

Keith seems like more of a well-rounded person, than most of the one-dimensional sports guys
He is, very cerebral, very funny, great guy
Keith is the man What a career! What a life he’s led. He had a storied baseball career & two World Series Championships under his belt. Then he added his bit to American culture with his part in Seinfeld.
Though born in California, Hernandez finished the 2nd half of his baseball career in New York & then he joined he Mets broadcast team which cemented him as a New Yorker. As far as jobs & careers, it’s pretty hard to beat Keith’s jobs - he has had 2 career where one of them alone is a dream but Keith has been able to do both & both at a high level. Make no mistake - Keith has worked hard at his jobs & earned his spot. All of us Mets fans know how lucky we are to have the best sports broadcasters in the business. From Howie Rose to Gary Cohen & Ron Darling to Keith Hernandez, we are absolutely spoiled.
You’re the man & we love you. I think you even cooler after learning that you’re big softie when it comes to your cat too. Real men are Cat Daddy’s.
FWIW, he actually had two injury-filled years in Cleveland at the end.

I originally did not care for the show. But, this was the episode that made me a fan for life. The puffy shirt episode another of the best.

Pretty-boy did a great job on the show. He wasn't like the usual wooden 'famous athlete' guest appearance. Classic episode.
Keith Hernandez did not hit many home runs but had a great OBP and clutch hitter, excellent gold glover first baseman and did drive in runs making sharp contact and not missed many games in career

I have not seen much baseball, and even less of the Mets. However, I could tell by the way he handled himself on the field that he was a great player.
According to Wikipedia, Keith Hernandez is widely considered the best defensive first baseman of all time. Do yall agree?
As a Yankees fan, we had the great Don Mattingly at 1st when the Mets had Keith Hernandez. Mattingly was a great defensive 1st baseman and a perennial gold glover. Keith was better.
As a Red Sox Fan the very mention of the phrase "Game 6" or "Mookie" or Keith "Hernandez" causes extreme anxiety.
In a completely irrational way, that brings me, a NY baseball fan, a strange amount of smug joy.

I'm not a sports fan at all but I LOVED Keith Hernandez's appearance. I can almost hear Newman exclaiming "Kieth Hernández!!!" when his name is mentioned... the whole irreverent "magic lugee," scene... Elaine and Keith flirting... and of course the nerve of Keith asking Jerry to help him move so soon after meeting him - and Kramer agreeing but then jumping at the chance when Keith asks him after Jerry backs out. LOL LOL LOL

Pitching beats hitting but the Mets were called the Miracle Mets that year and I lived in their AAA minor league affiliate Norfolk, VA Tidewater Tides . Mets fan here!!

SNY, just for your information, it's an old radio law that putting music underneath a segment of people talking (playing a "bed"), gives the audience the impression that what the people are saying isn't really important and that it's just a bit of filler before the next segment (or song) starts.

That's odd that Seinfeld does not remember; himself, how Hernandez was chosen. If it were something significant; like his favorite Met, it would be obvious recall, but it was not. So, nobody knows, except it makes perfect sense when you lob in Hernandez's recent retirement.
