They were and are together with Kraftwerk the German Synthesizer Pioneers.
Their name comes along with their revolution of electronic music in the early 70s and several US blockbuster movie soundtracks like, „Thief“ with James Caan, „The Sorcerer“ with Roy Scheider and many more. 7 Grammy nominations, several awards, and over 70 million sold records made Tangerine Dream a trademark of electronic music!
After 50 successful years, Tangerine Dream seemed to come to an end, when founder and mastermind EDGAR FROESE passed away in early 2015. But even before his death he already had the vision to open a new chapter for the band and began working on a new album with a younger lineup.
THORSTEN QUAESCHNING Musician, a long-term member of TD is now a bandleader and has PAUL FRICK an in the electro scene well-reputated artist next to him. Violinist HOSHIKO YAMANE is completing the line-up.

Thank you for continuing on. I love the idea of a "band" as an autopoietic system, like the I/O of electronic music itself, or an evolving community that carries the spirit forward.
