    Hello there, I too have the 2011 c50t boulevard. I purchased the bike in late March 2018. It is an awesome bike, I absolutely love everything about the bike. It has more than enough power & it's a beautiful bike. Suzuki really thought out ths bike. I personally feel that a motorcycle shouldn't cost as much as a car. Tht is why I didn't purchase a Harley. If anyone is looking for a cruiser, I highly recommend the c50t.

      This was my first cruiser and I love the c50t. I added a Mustang seat in March and will have my review on that posted very soon. (a month later than I planned but I've been riding too much :)

      I'm really enjoying mine. There are lots of parking lots in my area to practice slow speed manuevers(a vital skill!), and it "opens up" nicely on the Interstate!

    • @rendlerendle
      @rendlerendle  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      True, slow speed maneuvers are a vital skill. I spent quite a bit of time doing figure 8's in a parking lot, learning to take off and then stop without running along with the bike as it slowed up LOL.

    • @djj-rob458
      @djj-rob458 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a great video on YT about making a right turn from a stop. I highly recommend watching that one. Did you set up cones for the figure 8?

    • @rendlerendle
      @rendlerendle  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I didn't use cones. I simply got in an empty parking lot and practiced until I could do slow speed maneuvering and starts/stops well. I did it for a few afternoons until it became habitual to start/stop well and work the bike at slow speed. A seasoned rider had told me when I bought the bike, "anyone can ride straight and fast, its the slow speed stuff where you dump the bike." I will look up the video on the right turn from a stop. Ride safe.

    I have a 2014 C50T. This is my 5th and favorite motorcycle I've ever owned over 40 years of riding. I feel lucky that it is such a solid and well engineered bike because I simply bought it on a whim cause it was SO PRETTY! Handles great. I am not tall at all so I did install handlebar risers to help and I now ride in pure comfort. Review is spot on.

    Wonderful review. I too haven’t ridden in 35 years and am now 60. I just bought a 2012 C50T. I live in the mountains and my home is at 7000 feet. I’m 5 feet 8 inches at 200 pounds. This bike feels wonderful and is a very good fit. I ride one up and this bike has plenty of power on the mountain roadways. I was a bit worried about the power because my last bike was an 1100 cc. I think this bike runs just as strong as my last bike. Every comment on this review is right on. Thank you.

      KC Smith, thanks for the comment. The C50T handles like a champ in the mountains. Glad you like the bike. Take care and ride safe.

      So true.. I experienced 10 wonderful seasons with the European version (VL800 K9), including some sightseeing in the Austrian / Italian / Slovenian Alps - and I have never felt a lack of power or the bike sweating to perform. Not even a bit. Since 2015, I did those rides with my GF - means, two super-full saddle-bags and a huge leather pack in the back - and what a surprise, the bike still had enough power to wind through and climb the beautiful roads there. Truly, a great bike.
      Now I'm saddling the Boulevard C90T K7 (US version), it's definitely stronger, but neither that nifty, nor handling that well (especially for commuting). Frankly, I might get back to the VL800 / C50 one day 🙂
      Ride hard & ride safe.

      Thanks rscar5. I just tried to give an honest review of the motorcycle after a full season of riding. I love the Boulevard and have the Mustang seat on now. I've taken an all-day ride and soon will take a 3 day ride and plan on posting a review of the seat after that.

    I am very satisfied with my 2001 VL 1500 LC. It is what came to be the Boulevard C90T. At 5" 7" tall and 155 pounds, it hardly even notices that I'm aboard. I've been riding 55 years, and it is the most comfortable bike I have ever had. I have a Mustang seat and the stock saddle bags. Great review with no music to distract.

    Gust got over 4000 km on my new 2023 Suzuki C50T and loving it, Very hot and humid hear this year so took the windshield off, what a difference, that winding doing 80 km sure cools you down. I put raisers on the handle bars that also brought them back some, and now fits me like a fine glove. Had a compression fracture in my back so had a lot of trouble getting on and off the taller bikes, but the C50T no problem. Also find it much easer to back in to my shed than my CB500X was. Was pulled over talking to a friend and when I went to leave being on a bad angle to see behind me, I twisted around and think I pushed on the gas tank with my right leg, and down went the bike, glad I had the crash bars on it. It was so easy to pick up and there was no damage, 611 lb. and no problem just picking it up, my CB500X was much lighter but also much harder to pick up, low center of gravity makes a big difference. I do wish the bags were larger and would be nice to have solid one, think about getting a better seat, but will give it a another couple of thousand Km and then decide. Also with the bags on you can not get the key into the helmet lock??? Suzuki blew it there. This bike is a keeper.

    Saw your video tonight as I was relaxing looking through here and I have two responses: number one you picked what you felt comfortable on and great for you, number two I love the fact that you and your son get to ride together, I rode dirt bikes with my dad when I was very young but in the later years my dad wouldn’t touch a motorcycle and then got very sick and seemed to enjoy me telling him about what and where I have ridden. Y’all be safe and enjoy your time with your son riding

    Suzuki has some good bikes man. I just bought a 2007 BLVD S50 for $2999, and it's great. Its shaft driven, water cooled. The only problem is its carburated and not very comfortable for my wife on the back, but it's great on the back roads and highway bc of its flickability and good power-to-weight ratio (805 cc, 50+ hp/47ish torque I think, and only 443 lbs). It really gets up and goes!

    • @rendlerendle

    I have a 2003 Volusia Intruder which is the carb version. Mine is the pearl white 40th anniversary edition and I love it. I did install a Suzuki 1500 rear shaft drive machined to fit this model and give it about 20 percent lower gear ratio so it doesn't rev so high at interstate speeds. Really ads another satisfaction level. I also installed a Mustang seat, which makes it more comfortable on a longer ride. Adds a little height to the seat with the extra cushioning. That was a well thought out summary of this

    • @floydrturbo1
      @floydrturbo1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      (continued) model m/c. Totally agree with your assessment. Big bike feel that's just a little smaller than the large displacement bikes and makes it easier and more nimble to handle around town and enough power and very good gas mileage at this engine size (46-49 mpg). Injected models should get better from what I've read.

    • @rendlerendle
      @rendlerendle  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@floydrturbo1 Thanks for the comment floydturbo1. I've heard of the rear drive mod, I think it used to be called a DJ drive. I don't know if they're still available. 99% of my riding, so far, has been two lane in the mountains, so it really hasn't been something I've looked at doing.

    thanks for the great video I had tow and the first thing I did was remove the windshield on bough, gave the second one to my sun and the first thing he wanted was put that candy ass windshield back on. I just love the feel of the wind hitting me full force, nothing feels better than doing 100 Km plus in to a 60 km + wind. I mostly ride ADV bikes mid size, but thinking of getting another cruiser and think it might be a C50T all loved scraping the floor boards on the twisty roads. I wore them little pegs that stick down over 3/4 of the way down. That last one I had was white and no chrome badge on the tank, though the bike look so much better with out it, but I see now they are putting it back on all the C50T's

    I just bought an '07 C50T on 05/09/18, and I'm planning on taking the MSF course in a few weeks. I'm a new rider and this bike feels very "user friendly", as I went from stalling out at first, and about 2 hours later I was coming out of 1st gear with relative ease. I want to enjoy this bike for a long time, and I feel that this is definitely the bike for me!

    Nice review and I do hope you get that mustang seat. I own a C50 now but did own a 650 VStar and when I put the mustang seat it pushed me a bit more forward than I’d love, but it really is like sitting on a lazy boy. Really doesn’t vibrate through the seat at all, helps with fatigue. Not a bad way to spend 400 bucks

      @@rendlerendle I was about to get rid of my Honda NC700X. I was on my toes but after replacing the thin factory seat with a comfortable seat it was too tall. I bought adjustable lowering links but finding a shorter center stand & side stand was a pain. 6 months of shopping, buying, experimenting & failing before I found one side stand that would allow me to ride & park this bike. The center stand cannot be used because the bike is too low now. I went through this with my VStrom 650. Never again. My next bike is a cruiser. I'm 6'1" but my inseam is only 31" so it's like I'm 5'8". Adventure bikes are for people with very long legs.

Only complaint I have is that I paid about the same for both only this time the bike didn't come with all those extras! Not much difference between the two bikes except for a few things: 1. rear L.E.D. tail light, 2. fuel gage indicator, 3. passing light switch, 4. different air filter cover. I'm hoping they add a 6th gear and offer L.E.D. Headlight as well as L.E.D. turn signals as an option in the near future. Safe riding!

      rendlerendle , quick question. Did the taller windshield stop the wind buffeting on the helmet? Just wanna make sure before I make the investment.

    • @rendlerendle
      @rendlerendle  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It definitely stopped the problem for me. The wind shook my helmet, which would cause my glasses to shake and was annoying to ride. As soon as I put the taller windshield on the bike, the problem was solved. Also, twice it saved me having a bird hit my face. Both times the bird hit the windscreen near the top and bounced off. With the stock screen, both times the bird would have went just above the stock screen and hit my face. So for both the wind issue and the bird issue, I love the tall windshield. :)

      Hello BA, thanks for the question. The bike still rides great and I have no complaints. The only issue I had was the starter relay (solenoid) played out. It started clicking when I pressed the start button and I would have to click it several times to get it to turn over and start. I tried a cheap off-brand solenoid which lasted a couple months. Then I bought the Suzuki brand and it works great (lesson learned on cheap parts). The only other thing I've had to do was replace tires when they got slick. Cheers. Ride safe.

    Nice, calm and honest way of bringing. I like it. Question: you said that you did 220 to 250 miles before filling up again. If I'm correct fuel capacity is 4.1 US gallon. Assuming that it was not totally empty en you still had 0.4 gallon left, than it would mean 220 to 250 miles for 3.7 gallon, which is 60 to 67.5 miles/gallon. Are you sure or is there a mistake in my calculation? My Kawasaki VN800 which is comparable, does best case 47 miles/gallon.

The Vulcan doesn't have the 'pass' button to pulse the high beam which the Boulevard does have. The Boulevard has a two-piece seat (driver/passenger) and the Vulcan has a long one-piece seat. First, love the video review. My wife and I completed the MSF course a few months ago and now we're shopping for a used bike that we can share while we continue developing our skills. We were issued 250cc dual sport bikes for the course and we both liked the upright riding position but a dual sport is not the style of bike we'd consider. In our late 50s, neither one of us want a sport bike either despite there being a plethora of inexpensive used Ninjas on the market. I personally like a cruiser style like the Boulevard, and I looked at the Boulevard S40 at our local Suzuki dealer since it's just 650cc but it's air-cooled and there's also no used ones around. There is a local Seller with a 2006 C50 with 45k miles for $2550 that looks really clean and I have a motorcycle mechanic friend that can inspect it. In your opinion, is this too much bike to continue learning on? It definitely looks like a keeper.

      daMacroGuy, no I wouldn't think that's exceedingly high for the '06 C50. I'm no motorcycle expert but if it's a clean bike and your mechanic friend gives it a look over, I wouldn't be afraid of it for a learner. Let me know what you decide.

    Does anyone know what the default headlight height should be? I bought the bike used, so I've had to adust some things to my body type. Just want so reset the head light aim to default, and then aim it properly. Thanks in advance

      @@rendlerendle Good morning brother. I took it to a local bike shop and discovered that the issue wasn't the height, it was the fact that the bulb was so dim that it wasn't casting far enough in front of me. So I just purchased a brighter bulb, and the problem went away. Thanks for checking back on that!

      Demarco Bennett: thanks for the comment. The Boulevard was my first bike too. I was going to ride if a couple months or so and then trade 'up' but like it so much that I've stayed with it. Check back and let us know if you bought the Boulevard. Take care.

    I need to stop watching C/M50 reviews...they're all GLOWING! Looking to get something bigger, more comfortable than my '82 CM450C, and I'm curious about shaft driven cruisers and fuel injection. From what I can tell, these are perfect for me

      Theworkshow, thanks for the comment. I love the fuel injection and have not had the first issue with the shaft drive. Thanks again. Ride safe.

    I've watched lot of reviews on here, And I have to say , You should be teaching how to give a review..... I've looked a the C50 , But think I'd like the c90 better. But this review will make me look closer at the c50.

    Just bought my son a c50t. Great bike and fun to ride but the rear fender is hideous. I mean an eyesore. If he keeps it next season a different fender is going on.
