FYI, the Brother who performed that guitar solo, the one in the white shirt, He's American, Al Anderson. Born and raised in Montclair, NJ, and toured extensively with Bob Marley and The Wailers.
Al plays it fantastically. It was first written and played on the Catch a Fire album by Wayne Perkins. Bob wanted an American rock style guitar to pull in a new audience.
The 1973 version of this "Concrete Jungle" by the the Wailers with Tosh & Marley up front is still the best version imho. th-cam.com/video/5R94DgGRg7w/w-d-xo.html
This religion thing is not strange if you understand how African ppl hid religion while being oppressed. There is a saying that Haiti is 75 percent catholic and 100 percent voodoo. A lot of African traditions worked their way back into orthodox religion for slaves and ex slaves. There was a time when saying you were Ethiopian Orthodox was code for rasta. Just separating from the Roman catholic church was an act of rebellion. It's the same as slaves getting married by jumping the broom. Tradition found a way to survive.
Bob Marley and the Weillers was a reels artists legend every time
Fantastic reaction
Thank you❤
Brings back memories when i grew up in England ❤
The grey old whistle test version is the ultimate for this song. ❤
Yes, this one doesn't capture the song as good as it could.

It's a drum roll by Carlton "Field Marshall" BARRETT.
Great review for Brother Bob.👌. Do their song "Heathen " which is live on Santa Barbara as well.
You didn't talk of the insane solo rock type guitar by Al Anderson the most underrated wailer.
Yeah
For the record, Bob wrote the lirycs but the bass and drum lines are from Sly and Robby.
U need to get the old grey whistle test version

On the theme of concrete, you could check out Concrete Slaveship by the British reggae band Aswad.
It’s another video of him singing it live I think y’all would feel that one more
He was talking about New York when he made that song, it could also go to the other big city
A prophet in the flesh., "all who are thirsty, let them drink clear water"
