One Month Block??? What the hell do you have to do to get blocked on a channel like this?!?! ^_^ Love this one, brother.. so happy you did it.. thanks a million... these recordings of Bob and the band are priceless, and your breaking it down is golden... One Love !!!
This concert was one of the best live shows in music history……my cousin was lucky enough to this show I wish I could have been there, I was just a bit too young 15 at the time.
Great that you're doing a Bob Marley song Michael, especially considering the situation in the world right now. I have been a huge fan since I was a child. For me, Bob is one of the greatest of all time.
Just love your interpretation of the Marley classic - The Heathen. Don't forget this was a powerful protest song, a call for action to fight again against the oppressor - The Heathen. Still relevant today. Marley was miles ahead of this time.
Al Anderson is one of my favorite players of all time, but I must say when it comes to Heathen, Junior Marvin always shined so bright. He really had some magic about him. The best shows are often with the 2 of them. Enjoy Steamboat and time with the fam. Truly awesome.
Doesn't matter where they both originates from so far as they are BLACK they got it in their DNA already to roll together nicely. That being said, they can be WHITE too like my man here who is obsessed with the reggae that his brain waves have captured the riddim into his soul so he can rock with the Wailers too.
I read an article years back about some of Bob’s production crew discussing Bob’s Gibson guitar, they wanted a little more “umph” out of his guitar, so they found some techs who used to work with Jimi Hendrix, and they worked on his pickups to give him that unbelievable clean sound, it really stands out. My favorite Bob song, powerful in all aspects, everyone pitches in…even the crowd. You just don’t hear that anymore!
Love your passionate take on ”Heathen”. I’m totally with you, Carlton Barret..! There is no one in this world handling the hi-hat like Carlton, magician!👌🏽🙌🏼🌟🙏🏼
Many years of listening to Bob Marley have led me to take these precious moments for granted. Your reactions remind me why I love Bob Marley's music so much.
I don't know Michael, When I'm laying on a beach in Jamaica, with a Margarita in hand, with White Sandy beaches, beautiful warm blue water, Listening to some Bob Marley, I'm not sure Snow, is the 1st thing that comes to mind, Lol,, "Love ya mike".
Bob Marley and The Wailers AND The I Threes were the perfect blend of reggae musicians. He was a true leader and they followed him well. What a legend. He lives on through his music. Nice reaction.
You're correct in counting that strong 3rd beat. 'One Drop' refers to the one kick drum hit on the 3rd. It's easier to count that way. As a reggae dj it's way easier to beat-mix using the 3rd. the 'One' (1st) is quite often so quiet...
No joke, I randomly met Devon Evans in person a couple days ago. I wanna protect his privacy, so I won’t go into great detail, but it was a moment I will never forget. The passion in his eyes as he spoke truths about the world were inspiring and humbling. I only knew Bob Marley’s music/life at a high-level before that day. Now I’m on a deep-dive of what their movement was all about. Thank you for posting this!!!
Reggae Concerts are a special experience. I've seen a few. But i missed the legend Bob Marley. In the early 90s I was able to see Ziggy Marley with the Wailers. Great! Irie!
One Drop refers to: 1) Dropping (omitting) the kick and/or snare on one. 2) Dropping (hitting) the snare cross and kick on three (cut time) or two & four (1/2 time). Great reaction videos!👍
"RISE UP fallen fighter! Rise and take your stance again." I love the format, enjoy the jam session, keep up the good vibrations! It doesn't get much better than this! ❤️
I appreciate, and sometimes overlooked, the trance aspect of reggae. Much like the sounds from Appalachia. It takes you to a reflective space in your mind.
The "One Drop" is on the 3rd beat/half time as oppose to the "Steppers" beat which is 4 to the floor. "Jammin" is an good example. You can really hear how Reggae music is broken down via Dub albums. Nice reaction.
There is a misconception about the 4 on the floor riddim. It really is not 4 on the floor, the second kick is actually the third beat . It goes 1(kick), 2(silent), 3(kick+snare),4(silent).
Steamboat is the bessst and riding to Bob Marley is the best! Love it! I live in Summit county by Keystone. If you every want a tour of any of the mountains just hit me up. Also I would love to try and do a private guitar lesson with you if you are available.
I started watching reactions a couple of years ago, Have been requesting some Bob the whole time...Thanks. The main reason I am commenting is you need to listen to "Going down" by Jeff Beck while skiing!
I miss college. Smfh childhood when this came out. My parents use to send us up stairs to bed while they lit up and listened to these songs... Thanks for the memories. 😎
I have so many great reggae tunes I'd love to see you react to and break down! Of course Bob is the greatest of all time though ✊🇯🇲 Have a great trip brother!
Powerful song, lyrics everything bout his performance and his band.....Jah know.....this song is really relevant to today's society.....alot of heathens about trying to corrupt God's nature for us a His creations....."Put the heathen back dem pon di wall". Beyonce this song is for u.
I was waiting for Michael to talk about the “A-ness” of the music 😂 I love the ghost notes in the middle of the song! It almost sounds like reverb to me!

the drum kit is recorded perfectly
Great that you're doing a Bob Marley song Michael, especially considering the situation in the world right now. I have been a huge fan since I was a child. For me, Bob is one of the greatest of all time.
Couldn’t agree more!
Just love your interpretation of the Marley classic - The Heathen. Don't forget this was a powerful protest song, a call for action to fight again against the oppressor
- The Heathen. Still relevant today. Marley was miles ahead of this time.

From the very first time I heard him I was in love with Reggae. The offbeat. The bass and drums. I feel it in my backbone.
Bob always sounds so fcking good and so authentic!
I also love, love, LOVE the Jamaican accent. It sounds so cool and very distinct.
Because he sings from the heart
Reggae drummer here. And this bass and drum is one of the the best. Carlton bass drum work and snare out of this world.

Al Anderson is one of my favorite players of all time, but I must say when it comes to Heathen, Junior Marvin always shined so bright. He really had some magic about him. The best shows are often with the 2 of them. Enjoy Steamboat and time with the fam. Truly awesome.

Pure genius with its simplicity
I don't know Michael, When I'm laying on a beach in Jamaica, with a Margarita in hand, with White Sandy beaches, beautiful warm blue water, Listening to some Bob Marley, I'm not sure Snow, is the 1st thing that comes to mind, Lol,, "Love ya mike".
Just Love it You are awesome to play Reggae. Blessings my Teacher
Bob Marley and The Wailers AND The I Threes were the perfect blend of reggae musicians. He was a true leader and they followed him well. What a legend. He lives on through his music.

The amazing solos of Junior Marvin deeply has touched our young hearts , 1980 untill this moment.
شكرا جزيلا

Although the 1 is silent, it’s felt stronger in a one drop riddim
Or even left open ... :)
One love!
Thank you Michael and thank you Bob!! Just what I needed today.
that song live is just incredible 🙏🙏🙏
Genius...
So simple musically, yet so elevated by pure heart and soul. "We jam in Em all the time." "Yeah, but have you ever jammed in Em.... On weeeeeed?"
seen many amazing music players who couldnt cope with the reggae groove.... its all happening in silences. very subtle and groovy, slow and deep
No joke, I randomly met Devon Evans in person a couple days ago. I wanna protect his privacy, so I won’t go into great detail, but it was a moment I will never forget. The passion in his eyes as he spoke truths about the world were inspiring and humbling.

Reggae Concerts are a special experience. I've seen a few. But i missed the legend Bob Marley. In the early 90s I was able to see Ziggy Marley with the Wailers. Great! Irie!
I, too, am a lover of both Bob and Ozzy ❤️💛💚🖤
Great job... ❤ Bob for ever
Great Michael! Thanks for this positive vibe!!!!
Junior Marvin…. A beast on guitar… Bob had another guitarist, Al Anderson that was soooo underrated
One Drop refers to:
1) Dropping (omitting) the kick and/or snare on one. 2) Dropping (hitting) the snare cross and kick on three (cut time) or two & four (1/2 time).
Great reaction videos!👍
Dude! Excellent snowboarding playlist 🤘🏽

Steamboat is awesome. Been twice. Founder, from what ive seen, meant for it to be a 'family' skiing spot. Have fun Mike.
"RISE UP fallen fighter! Rise and take your stance again."

It doesn't get much better than this! ❤️
Have you done "Them Belly Full - Bob Marley" ? The live version? All of the live versions are incredible. The bass is incredible, everything
Love hearing you do Bob. The groove is always just right.
I appreciate, and sometimes overlooked, the trance aspect of reggae. Much like the sounds from Appalachia. It takes you to a reflective space in your mind.

Thenku For your kind Efforts on love for the Bob And then Remind on All time best music composting band in the world
Great!!!
The "One Drop" is on the 3rd beat/half time as oppose to the "Steppers" beat which is 4 to the floor.
"Jammin" is an good example. You can really hear how Reggae music is broken down via Dub albums. Nice reaction.
Yup. "One Drop" means they dropped the one, so you only get the bass drum on the third.
There is a misconception about the 4 on the floor riddim. It really is not 4 on the floor, the second kick is actually the third beat . It goes 1(kick), 2(silent), 3(kick+snare),4(silent).
Great choice, this is a belting gig. The energy in the room, must have been cooking. Oh to be able to say I was there. If only.
More, more more Bob Marley! Please do "So Much Trouble in the World"(studio version)
Bob was a great soccer player. His dance moves seem to just mimick his movements on the soccer field. R.I.P. Bob.
I remember first hearing this song and thinking it had to have about 20 chords in it. I'm good at complicating simple things.
Thank you for this! Bob is a legend and that band is deadly!
Steamboat is the bessst and riding to Bob Marley is the best! Love it! I live in Summit county by Keystone. If you every want a tour of any of the mountains just hit me up. Also I would love to try and do a private guitar lesson with you if you are available.
Great choice, Marley is THE STANDARD, just like his guitarists, Al Anderson and Junior Marvin 👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Bro i love bob marley, but now i love him more when i saw your Reaction :D
